All I get is "your client is out of date and will be updated shortly"
Any ideas?
It has been like that for 2 days for me. Hopefully something gets fixed shortly.
It happened to me earlier today. It started working again within minutes (less than five)

Happened to me, I noticed it last night and when I woke up this morning I got a notification saying that my android market was updated...so I will assume that they were both related. And now I am able to get back into the market.

I recently picked up one of those Polaroid 7 inch tablets at Kohls. (Polaroid ptab7xc)
All the reviews of this thing are great, but I can't do anything with it! I install the Amazon app store, and it works fine for a bit, but the next time I launch it, I get a black screen with "search" at the top, but the store itself never launches, and the search never responds. It only works once I uninstall then reinstall the app, and again, only for a bit.
I've also tried to install the Android/google store, I follow all the instructions on the page, and everything works fine, but before I get finished, the market stops working. Every time I try to launch the app, I get the same message, the Market has stopped working.
I copy the folder to the device and not an SD card, is that my problem?
No, i don't think that's your problem.

The firmware quoted won't work-it's made for a different model.
If you have already successfully flashed the tablet to the stock firmware, you can head over here where elektrik () has created a modified stock which has store, root &debloat.

If by 'hard reset' you mean back to factory default, you select that in the Personal section of the ICS system settings (called 'Backup & Reset')
As some will have noticed the latest version of Gmail 4.2.1 & 4.1.2 doesn't exactly play nice with the Kindle Fire HD, if you have notifications on & you get a e-mail the whole top bar will disappear for a short while, so to prevent that from happening you have to turn off notifications on Gmail which isn't very productive.
Anyway I tried the version before those and found 4.0.5 works perfectly fine, notifications & all, sure you don't have some of the fancy new features of the latest build but it does work very well as a e-mail app, currently using it now no issues.
You can get it from here - http://www.androiddrawer.com/1412/download-gmail-4-0-5-app-apk/

Everytime I've tested it (4.2.1) the same thing happens with the notifications, it's a strange issue.

Appellant work for me. I installed this on my Kindle, and it launches, then closes immediately. I don't have it rooted so is that part of the problem?

You'll need GoogleLoginService & GoogleServicesFramework for it to function properly, can be a bit buggy without root especially when trying to get syncing to work but I've used Gmail OK before rooting.
I'm guessing that I would need to root the Kindle to install those. (I'm really new with this, so sorry if this is a stupid question.)

No, Gmail & the other two GoogleLoginService & GoogleServicesFramework can be installed without root & work to a certain degree, it's only the syncing that can be problematic as for it to work flawlessly it needs the AccountAndSyncSettings.apk to be in system/app folder which does require root but if you just wanna check your e-mail occasionally you can install the 3 apks in bold listed above.
You can get a working Gmail APK from here - http://www.androiddrawer.com/1412/download-gmail-4-0-5-app-apk/
Get the other two APKs from here (Link at the bottom of 1st post) & install those first - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069329

As I was doing this though, I got messages popping up that were saying (insert app name here) has stopped. Gmail started to launch, but then it quit with a Gamit has stopped. Any ideas? (In the mean time, i will uninstall both incase it causes more problems.)

It's a while since I had them installed whilst unrooted but they did work, I had other Google apps as well such as YouTube & Drive, Gmail isn't the most stable unrooted, like I said it has trouble with sync, anyway try installing the just the 2 Services APKs, reboot then install Gmail & see what happens then if you want.
The same thing happened like before I installed the 2 Google framework packages. Doesn't even launch.

If you uninstall/delete the 2 service APKs, none of the Google apps will function.
To remove Google accounts, clear the data for Gmail & the 2 service APKs in Kindle settings.
Kindle Settings > Applications > Installed Applications:
Google Account Manager (Think this is the only one that needs clearing but you can try the other 2, no harm)
Google Service Framework
Gmail
It can only work with root, because it installs into the kindlefire/apps folder and you must move it manually into system/app folder. That can only do with root.

It can still work to a certain extent without root, to get the full capability & stability, then yes it needs root.
See - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1895040
I just tried to clear the data from both. It says that it cleared, but when I go into gmail or and other Google app, the account is still listed as available to sign in to and gmail is still showing the account I signed in to and receiving mail. I uninstalled and reinstalled gmail but it still showed up without having to be configured.

In some ways it is definitely a lot better, but it's also good if you want more of a regular Android experience. (Or you just have a Gmail account you want to access easily.)

Could elaborate a little bit more. I really don't know what :no more" means
there is already a post about this in this forum m8,themer shows fine for me in playstore although there have been some issues with other users having similar problems
Google Play filters apps available to your device and OS combination. I have an old phone and it didn't show up in the app store. After i updated it to KitKat, there it is. Try searching the store from a computer. it is definitely still there.
No it isn't. They've confirmed the problem on Twitter. It's been removed.
Was it removed by Google do you know? Is it permanent? It even disappeared off of the devices I had it on!

Hi sk8punk,
Unfortunately Themer has been temporarily removed from the Play Store. It should be up soon though, however we can't give an exact ETA. We will have more details soon regarding the issue.

I requested a code before the app is not longer available.
But there are 11602 in front of me...
How long will it take that i can enjoy this app? =)
Looking forward.
Thanks for reply.
Can we get a link to an apk for the time being? I was really wanting to try this out.

Hey,
So i sent my Sony Xperia Z3 off for repair, which they refused due to a tiny dink on the side of the phone. They sent me back the phone and it does not have ANY google services on it. I've looked in apps in settings and there is no google service showing there. I have no internet browser on the phone either. I've tried restoring back to factory settings with no luck and cannot install any apps on it. I've tried a few different google play services apk's but all i have tried, install then says google play services stopped working. I may not be installing the correct ones?? Please can someone help me get the phone sorted so i can install apps onto it.
It is a Sony Xperia Z3 Model number D6603, Processor - Qualcomm MSM8974PRO-AC, Android version - 4.4.4, Baseband Version - 8974-AAAAANAZQ-00005-05, Build number - 23.0.A.2.93
If you need any other info please just ask but i only want to use this phone to put things on for the kids and without the google services i can't!

Give to a phone shop and ask them to a flashing, they will charge you few bucks, If you don't want to flash and want to use than all you need to do is, you need to download all apps from third party and install in your phone and use, however you will facing some major problems. Third party apps come with virus and malwares ( Most of the time) which can damage your phone. Think Again and my suggestion is that do a proper flashing. Hope this Help you.
