Need a cheap case for the gym... - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

Suggestions? I just finally got in my first case.. white leather pouch from Sena. After one day at the gym I can already tell I don't want to be taking that to the gym with me as it's getting dirty already.
Any suggestions?
-Cheap
-Protective
-Easily comes on and off- will only use at gym don't want it to be a pain
I remember people were saying those reiko cases were very protective for dirt cheap but it looks like on ebay they're sold out.

personally I didn't feel very safe bringing my note to the gym. bigger phone = bigger target for dropped dumbells.

I use this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/LEATHER-CAS...053787?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item2569a2999b
Stays well on my shorts. I cut off the top flap.
I also ordered the large spibelt. So far it's great. Stays snug on my abdomen and doesn't get in the way of my workout at all. I didn't think it would be possible to go running with my Note until I got this belt. But not as easy to switch songs.
Wish the Seido surface case + holster would come out already.

Thanks I actually did see that topic. Only issue though is I also use an app to record my data after every set and am constantly messing with the music, so I need something that's easily accessible

Oh true true. Yeah unless u have the pack in the front yous have to take it in and out! U can just use Bluetooth for your music and let your phone chill on a shelf while your lifting! That's what I do when I got heavy sets and have to record them but I usueally use aa book anyway. Whatevar floats ur boat man hahaha!

Look on ebay or amazon for TPU cases. Thats sounds the best for the gym. Easy to put on and remove. Durable, and really cheap. Theres some TPU cases going for as little as $3.

In my pocket? I really like the blue tooth idea but I'm not really up to spending the money for a set with good sound quality. Might just go for a dirty cheap tpu

Good for running, might actually work with bench press and bicep workouts. I had one for my skyrocket and it worked well. Just a challenge to change songs when the damn thing is on your arm lol

You could put it somewhere safe and get yourself an expensive pair of bt headphones that let u switch thru songs. thats what i do.

Yeah I like the idea but I don't think it would work well when I'm trying to use my arms and have a compression band wrapped around one.

Here is your answer for cheap gym case!!
Take a look at this video this has to be the cheapest option and will work great on the note.

That's a pretty good idea. I might use that later in the summer when I start going running. For gym use though I can't have band around my arm. The Reiko cases were up again on eBay so I just bought one of them.

This is what I have:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/160749341425?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
The headphone port hole is not accurate so I had to make a little hole on the left and I'm good to go

I ordered mine from BluMall.
Yes that is the exact case I have it has been great so far, also if you turn the phone facing the other way the audio jack is mostly uncovered. I think you would still need to cut it out just a little but not near as much.

I've actually found that with this holster if I push the phone up a little bit from the bottom I can use the headphone jack.
The phone would be in the holster WITH the cover closed and basically just not touching the bottom of the holster.
But I don't know if the only reason that works is because I have a bulky (d3o) case.
Other cases or just the bare phone might cause the phone to slide down and sit on the bottom anyway.
Also was just on T-mobiles site and I noticed a D3o pouch as well

Just checked it out after you mentioned it, looks like that holster has d3o technology built in.
However I don't think it would hold the phone with a case on it.
Looks pretty slim.
And definitely does not cost 4.57 with free shipping lol.

That style is the way I like. I don't like the flap covering up the whole phone.

Alternative to Otterbox (lint)

I recently got the Otterbox Commuter case for my SGS2 and like the fit and feel of it but the rubber attracts alot of lint and dust. It collects around the earpiece and front camera and around all the exposed rubber; it's annoying quite frankly.
Does anyone else have a recommendation for an alternative case. I like how the size isn't crazy thick but that it still gives me good protection. I am outside alot and have 2 young boys. I kind of considered the thicker Wrapsol skin as well, anyone used it? Any help would be great.
Try taking a look at the trident aegis, I have one for my Inspire and I don't get as much lint as I do with the otterbox commuter on my s2, though it does it still, I haven't noticed it anyway

hmm those look interesting, have you tried them?
I may have to try out an Aegis, I do like how it doesn't have the part covering the top front of the screen like the Otterbox; I see where they were coming from but I've considered trimming it off. I've been dealing with the lint and such lately, I don't like it but maybe I can convince the wifey to let me try the Trident one out
aside from the lint on the aegis, how does it grip the inside of your pocket when you take it out? is it really grippy like the otterbox is?

Has the one with stand, little bulky but does seem protect the phone well.
I had the Otterbox on my cappy and liked it ok but didn't realy want to spend that much again when I know I will be upgrading every year or so. I did some searching here on XDA when I got the SGS2 and found a link to "Acase" on Amazon. I have no complaints and it was under $10.00 when on sale.

Just finished searching for the Acase on Amazon and I get nothing but iPhone results. Added the SG2 in the search and it returns nothing but battery stuff or some ballistic style case that is just gawd awful.
Would you mind sending or posting a link, I have been looking for a light case for my Sg2 but cannot find anything that I like that will keep it close to its original thinness - dont want to bulk it up by adding a thick case
Thanks in advance

If he can tell there is no cut out just by looking at some pics, I'm sure staring at your phone w/ this case on it will be very much noticeable.

+1 for the Aegis, I have been using for about 10 days, love it! It does collect some lint in my pocket, and since I am a landscaper, some grass too! Not a big deal to just rinse it off and let air dry and put back on. The reason I went with the Aegis, is because it has a screen over the speaker phone, unlike the otter box, I did just order the otter box to compare, Ill let you know, but now I am looking at the Acase. The screen protector that comes with the Aegis is pretty weak though, not sure what to do about that, I hate the orange peel, Invisashield.
-nevermind the Acase, doesn't cover port and plugs a must have for me!
You are right no covers for phone jack or usb and the mic hole is off a bit but I just made a new hole with a drill bit. works great

Just wanted you to know is not really a case. It is another back which replaces the stock back and a flap that covers the screen. The edges of the GNote are still completely exposed.
Just wanted you to know what the flip case is.
Apparently the flip case will only last about a month due to some defects. People are complaining that it is falling apart. Good for free but don't spend you hard earned cash on it.

If it doesn't, you can just add some padded tape to the inside. that way, if the phone is thinner, it will fit snugly.

Has anyone found a case that's durable like the one Seidio sells? Seidio won't have one out until later and I need something durable and something with a good grip, with the phone being so big and I have small hands, I'm afraid it'll slip. I bought the Zenus leather case for the time being.
UPDATE: I asked one of the eBay seller about the Zenus capsule and said it's more on the slippery side but is made with hard material.

I have this case in the white version, so I can only comment on that. It is a nice case for the money, the plastic covering the volume and power keys were really tough but I fixed that by cutting along the sides of them with a razor. It has two different finishes on it (I don't know why they didn't just pick one) and the extra grip on the sides is very helpful. The only thing I don't like about it is that the white version started to turn a little blue because I kept it in my pocket, but that probably won't happen to yours. Other than that its not the worst case I have owned . Hope this helped.

Really? Because I really hate mine. It's too bulky imo.
Get a soft, clear analog off ebay. Surprisingly, button covers were soft enough not to trouble me to cut them out, else the case is great for 3$.
i ended up getting the one i posted first. i really like the case alot. feels nice in my hand and is think but still provides some protection. fits very tight on the phone and isnt all flimsy. i like it and it was worth 8 bucks to me. also unlike my forst ebay case i got that thing wore down and it stuck to everything you could imagine. this case seems like it wont have that problem at all which is nice. i like this case and would recommend it to others for the price

Got it over the weekend and I haven't had any complaints about echo. However, this case is thick! It no longer fits in my desktop dock and almost doubles the thickness of the phone.

hmmm..
I think I'll go ahead and get it. It is still on sale as of today. I guess with free shipping the most i'll be out is 5.40 anyway. I don't use a dock and I am thinking a little thicker might not be a bad thing for my big hands anyway. I'll let you know how mine is when I get it.

Do you have it yet? Awaiting your review so we can see if we want to spend another 5.50 or not, LOL
I just checked this AM and they are still on sale.

I really like the case, its about the same thickness of my platinum series or "seido" case. It's very lightweight with the phone in the case. I like the design a lot and it fits nice in my hand. It doesn't really feel like rubber but more like plastic, although it IS in fact rubber. The leather and stitching is on point, it gives it a nice look and feel. The side treads? Gives the user a good grip. Ive seen a lot of reviews saying it is hard to put the case on, but for me it wasn't even close to.being difficult. For $5 its a steal. High quality case seems like it'll be able to go through many drops without any problems. One more thing it hugs the phone very snug so you can rest assure that the phone won't pop out and it will stay protected. Here's pictures:
The buttons on the sides arent bad btw. The case does not affect my screen protector (rise along the edges or corner). Heres the inside of the case:

Thanks for the review and pictures. I was on the fence about getting yet another case (I have 3-4 ebay specials I swap in & out), but the pictures really make this look sharp.
Just ordered, $5 for a $18 case is a steal.
