Just got this adapter deliver from Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003M8I0R...iveASIN=B003M8I0RM&adid=1VQXRP85656ACXRE25ZW&
Plugged it in, message popped up "Ethernet Port is detected"
Plugged my network cable in, and another message said that Ethernet DHCP was connected.
Done - no drivers, no setup or anything. Of course, this probably needs the new update from yesterday, but if you need a cheap and simple ethernet option, this is it!
I got one from monoprice for around $7. Worked OK before the update. Works great now.

What speed can Prime handle? Is the max around 30mbps up and down or what can the network card handle when using cable?
Same as WIFI max or can it go faster when using cable?

You probably got a bad adapter. Or does your TV support the resolution that the Rez outputs?
Just got my MHL in the mail and works great.

I just tried it yesterday and it worked great!
I have one I am using from my girl friends Infuse and it didn't work at 1st for me. My problem was that I was just pluging it into the phone and HDMI to the TV. When using it you have to by plug into power to get it to work or so it would seem for me.
Yes you need to plug the adapter into the phone, the charger into the adapter and an hdmi cable from the adapter to the tv. Works great just a pain compared to micro hdmi out! You can buy all the stuff you need from monoprice.com for less than the official MHL adapter.
I have the monoprice one. I can confirm: it HAS to be connected to power (charger or USB both work) to function, not just if you want the phone to charge while using the adapter.
Quoting myself from the other MHL thread:
What I did was use a short HDMI cable, short micro USB cable plugged into one of my TVs USB ports for power, and then mounted the adapter to the back of my TV with velco. I then use a micro usb extension cable to connect the adapter to my phone, cutting down a TON on the octopus effect. And I can always disconnect the adapter to take it with me somewhere.

Hy all
I received my asus transformer prime some hours ago. I have the problem that my device does not charge when I put in the cable into my computer. But the device connets to the computer and is known as Transformer prime.
The only way to charge it in a slow mode is to turn off the screen, plug in into the computer and wait. Then it charges about 5 percent in an hour. I guess this way it charges only with 5V instead of 15V. I don't use any extension cables.
Where to you think is the problem and how can I solve it? There are other posts in other forum with the same problem.
Did anyone else had this problem? Thank you in advance. (sorry for my english)
You can only charge it with a wall charger officially -> there us no problem

No charging with USB? Are you sure?
I can't use the US charger because I live in Europe. But I ordered now the charger from Transformer Prime - seams to be the same - for Europe. Maybe this helps.
Try this

Thank you - i will try this tool and buy an US/EU adapter. Hope it works.
The instructions in the online PDF for the TF101 state that you can ONLY charge on straight USB with the unit OFF. I doubt that would change for the TF102
Is the adapter only 110v? If not just get something like this:

My wife has the original transformer and it will charge from my computer ONLY when the screen is off (weird right?) and even so, it charges sooo slow that way. She left it over night and it went from 18% up to 47%!
I'm still waiting for my Prime. Can someone confirm or deny this same tactic will work with it? You're better off getting the wall charger, but it might do in a pinch.
The problem is that the device goes ON if I plug it into the computer . Okay, I have to shut down the device after I plugged in.
There s thread in the original transformer forum that dig into the charging needs of the transformer.
The short version is, you need a 12v output, most standard USB AC only output 5v.
And you need to use the Asus USB wire, standard USB wire doesn't support 12volt current.
I did find a generic 12v AC with a USB port, priced around 10 euros in EU, it's not uber commun but I found it in a general store, so you shouldn't have to much problem getting one somewhere.

This does still work - I can confirm. But don't have so much time all the time
you guys should not be surprised at the charging speed on USB2.0. Most USB ports (unless you're using a newer motherboard) max out at 500ma. You can do the math.
Most tablets don't charge at all via USB to PC. This is because they have bigger batteries and the PC USB standard power output is 5v. Having it charge at all via USB is a blessing, but will not be practical in most situations. However, I am glad to have the option.
It would be nice to have the USB standard on PC increased to handle this, but maybe USB 4.0.
There is an extension to USB 3.0 that is being proposed that will allow up to 100 watts of charging. Should be seeing it in 2012.

Will this charge in a USB 3.0 port can anyone confirm? And does it requires turning it off?

Try the program I posted earlier in this tread. Works with any PC motherboard and will charge your tablets.

I have that program with my Asus mobo it does NOT charge your tab faster and does not even notice it is there like it does with a Ipod
Solution to Transformer Prime not charging problem
I'm not an apologist for ASUS, their UK tech support was useless and offered the only solution as a return for repair.
So you can be sure you have the same problem. My Prime worked perfectly (brilliant piece of kit!) but two days again stopped taking charge. Keypad drained completely, tab was down to 25% before I realised I had to do something. ICS has been downloaded.
ASUS told me it was the transformer plug not working - wrong I tested the output. Charge was not beinbg taken when cable was plugged into a PC or a an alternative USB transformer either.
ASUS told me it was the cable not working - Wrong - it woke the device up when plugged in.
ASUS told me it was because the new firmware was the problem and it shoudl go back to them for resetting to Android 3. Wrong.
ANSWER - Simples, reset with a paper clip using the small hole by the SD card in the Tab. Ten seconds. Restart.
Tablet and Dock start to recharge instantly. No problems since. No setting seem to be lost, all Skype contacts, Wireless passwords intact.
Don't panic and don't send it back. Hope this helps.
Spread the word gret piece of kit, just ignore the ASUS help....
Thanks a lot
you made my day,it was not charging at all..the asus prime came from singapore and im currently in india it wasnt charging at all now it works perfectly.all i had to do was reset the pad .then it started charging ..
Just to double check, what effect does this reset have on the software. Any apps/data/settings lost? Does it revert the software to an older version?
Does anyone know what devices are supported by the dock usb port?
I tried plugging in my xbox 360 controller and it wouldn't work. However, it did when when I just used the tablet to USB adapter to plug into my controller without the dock. I also tried plugging in my mouse, which glows when it is plugged in, but I can't use it to control the screen. I tried disabling the mouse pad and still no nice. It also doesn't seem to be recognizing my USB stick. Anyone have any clue on how to solve this or test if there's something wrong?

I plugged a super nintendo controller into mine and it works great, love this tablet!
Has anyone tried a USB to RJ45 LAN adapter. I'm wondering if I can connect in hotels using one of these as some hotels only offer cable internet in your room.
Im waiting for both the Usb rj45 ethernet adapter and the Prime at the moment, so i dont know yet, but on HC they work on the OG transformer with root

and

May need Linux LKMs and/or root in some or all cases.

Out of the box
Hi,
I have a Sitecom LN-029 USB-LAN adaptor (quite old already) and it works out of the box on my TR101 with ICS ... 17.
Does anyone else have the same problem? My HDMI port was working perfectly yesterday, but today, when I try to plug it up, it wont work. Anyone know any solutions to this problem? Any help will be appreciated!

Hahaha same thing happened to me today, went to plug it in to work out, and no response. HOWEVER, I just upgraded to Eos with Cornerstone, so something is making me think that was the problem. Sorry I couldn't help, but if you're romming and all that goodness, that could be the issue.
HDMI output problems with AC connected
My HDMI is working but when I charge the tablet (connected to the AC) the HDMI output fails for a few second (returning the image to the tablet) and then the output recovers and the image go to TV again.
Mine just stopped working a few weeks back. It was fine, but I noticed the port was a little loose. The hdmi notification no longer pops up when connected. I know the cable is good because I use it on my Droid charge.
I'm just waiting for the RMA process to settle down before sending it in.
