Did you flash a froyo sbf over a gingerbread one? If yes, the phone is bricked. Sorry!
When you turn the device on - does it say anything about NV FLASH and then turn off?
From what i got is it was updated.
i was trying to flash the old stock rom
i dont know if it was froyo or gingerbread
NV FLASH yes for a little while like not even a second then it turned it self off
anyways this morning i got up. and now all i got is a green light and nothing else.
i called motorola this morning and they guy that anwered said it had warranty so i sent it in.
maybe when it come's back i take every step needed and be carefull flashing it.
thanks guy for the quick reply
okay, I am seeing this alot, but everyone else unit seems to shut off before anything can happen, mine does not, it simply stays on. That being said, I am conducting an experiment, since my ATRIX was afflicted I baught a new one because I liked the webtop idea, so im charging my new one to 100% and then im going to swap out batteries and check the results. Has anyone seen any evidence at all that might suggest a possible fix? I will update you guys on the results of my experiment once completed, hopefully I can come across something that will lead someone to a fix if not find one myself.

brickleberry

I've been trying to get my S2 right for awhile and finally traced some of my problems to a bad microusb connector...Anyways.. was in the process of flashing back to stock from cm7 with Odin and the phone hangs on the downloading screen, waited an hour and nothing changed. I know it says to not power off device but there was no way around it. Now the phone is bricked pretty darn good I believe. I can't get it to come on at all. I've tried the 3 button recovery mode, the download mode, and the good ole fashioned power button. One interesting thing is that the phone gets warm to the touch when the battery is installed, like it's trying to process something. Any Ideas what I can do?
Pull the battery and leave it out. Next try to put the phone into download mode by holding either one or both volume buttons while plugging in the USB cable. The PC will provide the power. If this boots to download mode, you can try flashing again from there.
firstly, thanks creepyncrawly for the advice! I've read some of your post and tuts and they've been a big help to me!
I just tried what you said and it's still a no-go. You got any other tricks left in the bag??
Am I the only one who read the title as "blackberry"? God I feel stupid...

Only guess work as to what happened. If there are no signs of life no matter what you do (aside from the phone getting warm) then one guess is that the usb port failed/disconnected during the flash of critical files. However, the stock package does not contain bootloaders, unless you used one from the download repository. So like I said, just guessing.
Anyway, I don't know any thing else to do except jtag repair, and with a bad usb port, that would not be cost effective. If it's under warranty, then go for warranty replacement. As far as I can see, you didn't cause the problem by what you did. It looks to me like it was due to hardware failure.
Already ahead of you I called att for warranty yesterday. I'm thinking the same as you as far as a bad USB port messing my flash up. The phone had been giving me all kinds of fits lately with that and I had that camera buzzing issue as well. Through my searches on this site it seems like the USB ports on our phones are a weak point. lots of people having trouble with them. It looks like the same port other devices use so do any of you know if ours is a cheaper one or is it just the nature of the beast with phones because of all the plugging and unplugging that a phone naturally goes through in it's lifetime?? And what about the camera buzzing? Anyone figure out what exactly causes that? If I had to guess it would be using the LED as a flash light, that's when I noticed it happening.
I'm just thinking ahead to when I get my replacement now and want to change any of my habits with the phone if that will extend the life of it.
On a side note, they offered me a skyrocket, to which I pitched a fit to no avail. I ended up accepting that but with the stipulation that I get a i777 when they are back in stock. I may escalate it to customer relations to see if I can get an s3 out of the deal. Though to be honest I would take an S2 over an S3. I love my S2

Hard brick after converting SuperSU to system app.

Just wanted to share a really awful experience on my SG S3 Mini i8190. I was as usual studying in class when I kind of got bored and decided to play around with my phone. I opened my SuperSU app just for the heck of it and saw an option that says something similar to 'Switch SuperSU into a system app', I thought it wouldn't hurt at all but was I wrong. Right after that moment... guess what? Yep, a hard brick. I wasn't really sure why and although I kind of felt it was partly my fault for doing unnecessary things, but I just can't help wonder why doing something that looks so harmless especially that it was an option to begin with in the app would cost me over 80$.
I sent it to a friend who has this shop which has all sorts of JTAG boxes but sadly none of them worked and I did have to change IC EMMC. :crying:
Just got my phone today and already decided to install the newest CM11 lol. I'm not here to blame CF or anything just wanted to share an experience and hopefully would prevent some newbies out there from doing things you don't really know to begin with.

this phone is driving me crazy

ive been looking everywhere for help with this phone. i have searched and searched and just cant find anything that will help. i have the verizon s6 edge+ and from reading multiple sites, it seems there is no hope for rooting it. So, even with the OEM unlocked, is there still no hope for rooting it? If not, i guess im gonna have to get another phone. ive never rooted a phone before, and it looks like i picked the wrong one to start with, ughhhh!!!!!!

Noob ?'s LG G4 bootloop flashing

Hi guys, this might seem like a bit of a noob question so bear with me.
Wife's G4 is stuck in boot loop and is pretty much a paper weight at this point. I've seen the tutorial (link at bottom) about flashing in factory firmware to fix phones stuck in boot loop. Does this pertain to a phone that has never been messed with, and is in boot loop from the LG hardware issues that cause it? Or does it only apply to when you brick the phone from trying to flash custom roms or whatever into it?
The tutorial doesn't really specify if it will fix my issue or if I'm screwed since it's a hardware issue.
Also, I'm using a motorola usb cable, but I've used this same exact cable to connect to the same G4 before to copy pictures and stuff and it has worked. But I absolutely cannot get the phone to connect to the PC in download mode. Any ideas?
http://rootmygalaxy.net/unbrick-lg-g4-with-lg-flash-tool/
http://tool.lime.gdms.lge.com/client/app/LGMobileSupportTool.exe grab this and when you install it click install usb driver. Then, hold volume up and while holding it plug in the usb cable. Hold the button until you see download mode.
If you have never modified the software, then it's almost certainly the known LG hardware issue. You can send it to LG and they will fix it for free, though it will take a bit to get it back.
Well before I did too much more, I decided to try verizon again. The last lady I talked to seemed completely ignorant and not interested in helping at all. This time I ended up talking to a guy who was pretty knowledgeable and understood the issue with these phones. And we also pay for insurance on our phones, which I completely forgot about. So he ended up getting a new G4 overnighted to us at no charge. It showed up yesterday and thankfully booted up without any issue lol. So if nothing else, at least there's a happy end to the saga.
Thank you guys for the responses.
