also make sure your device is rooted
with root manger i believe it should automatic ask for root
if that doesn't work you can always just use adb to push it in =]
We need some more choices

I don't know if it works in /data/local because the bootamimation.zip is located in /system/media
Also if you have root
Try using a boot animation changer app from the market

It looks for one in data/local first, so yes it does work, and you don't have to move/make a backup of your stock one with it being in there.

/data/local also persists across rom flashes, unless you do a full wipe of course
Anyone know how to get the sound working for the bootanimations on a prime?

Change your mouse cursor iconThis should work with Any custom rom (and any device in theory)
Use zipthemer HERE
download the zip file of your choice, and use zipthemer to create a flashable zip, then flash said zip to your device.
All icons and zips are in one folder, the zip and a pic of the icon are both labeled with the same name. simple click on the .png to see what it is before you download and flash the zipDOWNLOAD HEREthis is a beta simply because i do not have this tab and can not test, although should work flawlessly. As soon as its confirmed to work on the it will leave beta

Hi I just tried this, downloaded the deep blue icon and used Zip Themer to make the update zip and no luck. Flashed the zip using CWM rebooted and pointer is still the same.
I'm running the AOKP 4.1.1 ROM so don't know if Jelly Bean has changed anything or not.
No I tested this on ICS (cm9) and no luck either, some work needs to be done to make this function on the tf300t as it was made for the xoom

I took a few moments to invert its420oclock's LGOG boot animation and thought I would share!
All credit goes to its420oclock :good::good:
YouTube Preview:
DO NOT FLASH IN RECOVERY!!
---- REPEAT ----
DO NOT FLASH IN RECOVERY!!
TO INSTALL:
Download bootanimation.zip & shutdownanimation.zip
Move to phone memory (or SDCard)
Use RootExplorer to copy & paste both zip files into /system/media
(If you want to keep your original boot/shutdown animations as backups, add .bak to their file name before pasting the new animations)
Here's another version... Animations are slowed down slightly and the shutdown animation is reversed, so the OG logo gets smeared, then erased.

I am trying to flash crpalmer's custom kernel. I read in a FAQ thread that, being S-OFF, all I have to do is install the zip like I would a custom rom in CWM recovery. When I flash it, it does not give me any errors.
Upon reboot it just sits at the HTC screen. I can reboot into recovery and use a backup and it works fine.
Sorry if I'm making a dumb mistake and thanks for the help. I'll keep searching in the meantime.
Either you have a bad download or you aren't waiting long enough for it to boot.

I just waited close to 10 minutes and it is still sitting at the htc splash screen. I downloaded it twice; I guess I could restore my backup and try again?

You should dirty flash your ROM before flashing my CM kernel. It works across multiple ROMs by having the installer pull data from the existing kernel which would now no longer be correct!
