Unlocking bootloader x10 minipro - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

Hello, recently I used the "SE tweaker tool v4.0 "located in the development area for the x10 mini pro, to unlock my u20i bootloader.
All in all, the process seemed to work, the cellphone turned off, then turned on again when it was finished. After that I was supossed to check if the bootloader had successfully been unlocked via booting the phone in flash mode and comparing the output.
Short story: After turning off the phone it didn't turn again, I connected it and it never went in flash mode. I realized that might be a hard brick, however it's strange since the phone did boot automatically during the process of unlocking the bootloader.
Is there ANYTHING I can do about it? No signs of life literally though.

Did u try s1 tool befre unlockng bootloader.? What was its output?

SEMC SIMLOCK or something like that. The output was the one that was required, I checked and double checked precisely to avoid a brick.
I've been reading further and it seems that those cellphones that unlock their bootloader with that 2772xxxxx file, will hard brick always after turning off, if they were manufactured after 11w29.
Said announcement is stickied only in the x8 forums, I think it should be posted up in the x10 and x10mini pro, and any other cellphones that are affected. I don't know for sure, but most likely that's it.

[Q] Orange branding problems with rooting Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro (Sk17i)

Hi xda members,
first of all i've read through tons of post, searched google for an hour. Now I hope for your help. I own a "Sony Ericcson Xperia Mini Pro" (model number SK17i) running Android 2.3.3 (Kernel 2.6.32.8-perf, build number 4.0.A.2.335). It's branded by Orange Austria. I'm looking for a way to root it, but all I could find doesn't help.So far i've read the thread on rooting my phone and followed the guide mentioned there. That doesn't work as planned.
The problem seems to be the branding. Fastboot won't recognize my device since I'm not able to unlock the boot loader. The phone just goes to normal charging mode, when I press [volume up] while connecting the usb cable.
Hence my question: Is there a workaround to unlock the bootloader or an alternative way of rooting? I looked and found solutions for older Xperia phones with brandings and tried what I could. No success.
I would appreciate any help. Just point me into the right direction. Thanks!
Edit: So I found a post on unlocking the bootloader using the device's testpoint. According to one post he succeded in unlocking his orange branded phone. Unforunately some of the information there 404 so I can't reproduce that. Plz help!
Edit2: Now I'm a step futher. Problem now is that s1tool dies after the disconnect testpoint step. Any suggestions?
So this is where I'm stuck:
imageshack . us/photo/my-images/829/freezeu.png/
Weird URL due to new users not allowed to post outside links. I removed the testpoint and waited. Am I supposed to do something else? At one go I tried the [volume down] stuff with and without connected battery. That didn't help.
So for branded phones with *#*#7378423#*#* (service) -> "Service Info"-> "Configuration" -> "Bootloader unlock allowed: No" there is now way to unlock the bootloader?

[Q] Xperia Mini Pro - bad behavior after Easy root toolkit

Hi!
I'm sorry if I posted in the wrong topic.
Yesterday I used this: (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1320350) to root my SE Xperia Mini Pro.
The rooting process was ok and afterwards the phone was rooted.
Then I wanted to connect the phone to my PC, but
- it was not recognized (the phone by the [any] PC) in media transfer mode
- there was no lock screen (except before SIM unlocking on start)
- can't receive or make calls (incoming and outgoing calls are "Disabled" and it can't be changed [asks for password, but says "Network or SIM card error"]), I tried another phone and calls work.
I used the unrooting script, but nothing changed.
Then I downloaded a firmware I found on this forum (SE FW: 4.0.A.2.368), the media transfer mode and the lock screen worked, but not the calls. After that I applied the T-Mobile 2.3.4 software from my PC, but it's still the same.
Could anyone please tell me what I have to do?
Thanks in advance.
I think flashing a firmware will restore a rooted phone to his original state...
Maybe it has something to do with unlocking the boot loader?
http://unlockbootloader.sonyericsson.com/
My experience is that,
no matter how you mess with your SK17
I.e. bad boot loader, unplug while flashing, Relock bootloader fail unbootable bootloader etc etc,
Wotan Server brings everything work again.
Run Wotan Server, press the Volume down button (or Up i forgot), connect the USB cable, follow step by step to flash the newest version firmware.
And there you go.
Then root your phone again.
Thats what I did for many times. No panic. Seems our phone would never brick. LOL
*Sorry for bad English. I am not EFL speaker.
RE : bad behavior after Easy root toolkit
me too.. but the problem is the problem is the GPS is not working..
when i use foursquare the GPS is detected as inactive
can someone tell me what's wrong with my phone?
*sorry for the spoiled english

[Q] WTF have I done right???

Strange little story– A tale of (apparent) success snatched from the jaws of chronic stupidity and without any idea why it all worked.
I was given an unwanted X10 Mini Pro for my daughter – which was locked to 3 UK. So I unlocked it using a server unlock bought through eBay. That all worked perfectly but then I wanted to unlock the bootloader and install CM9.
I’d installed CM7 on another X10MP for a friend last year and so I had S1tool etc but of course it reported “RA0405” (locked bootloader) and “non recognised certificate” . (Awww, sh1t !)
Well then I read that flashtool can now unlock the bootloader so I thought I’d give it a try. Running Flashtool 8.10 I tried it but couldn’t get beyond the pop-up window where it asks you to connect the phone in flash mode. (Aww, Double sh1t!!)
Then clicking around the options on flashtool I came across “Root” and thought I’d give it a go in case the BL unlock needed root access. Well it threw up a few lines of text and reported that I was rooted. I re-ran the BL unlock again but no joy. (Awwww, double bugg3ry sh1t!!!).
Call me pig-headed but I then tried S1tool one last time. Again, it don’t work but it did throw up one line that told me specifically that while I still had the dreaded “Capital R” locked bootloader that it was “already rooted”.
On the basis that the phone had cost me nothing and that “root” normally indicates “take me any way you like , big boy” I then went back into flashtool and flashed the NaA ICS kernel. It worked!
I tried to restart into CWM – It worked too!! I wiped and flashed CM9 – It worked!!!!
I rebooted praying to all the saints that it wouldn’t bootloop and eventually a lockscreen appeared and it let me in to the start of the usual setup wizard.
Now, the BL unlocking guides all said that forcing a BL unlock with a non-SEMC/SETools or Optimus unlocked phone ccould either break your Sim-unlock or bork your radio functions completely so I still wasn’t optimistic but I shut the phone down slapped in my daughter’s Voda SIM, restarted and – “By the sacred balls of St Bartholemew!!” everything works just perfectly.
Now my question is simple. In true “idiot savant” mode have I got to the right end-point by a totally illogical and a “that should never have worked” series of blunders? Or could someone intelligent tell me why it worked and (if so) why it isn’t already written-up somewhere as another way to get past your BL and do a custom ROM install?
I’m not touching the damn thing again – in case my luck has now run out - that much I do know……
Could you post the output of S1Tool?
Unlocking the bootloader on an unrecognised simlock-certificate MAY work, but more often than not it destroys the radio-capability.
I'm fairly sure your bootloader is unlocked, can't imagine the nAa-kernel working otherwise, but without the output of S1Tool there's no way of telling

[Q] How safe BL unlocking in X10MP?

Hi, I came from X8 section so I dont really know how things work around here in X10MP section. My problem is, how safe it is to unlock my bootloader because one of my X8 has been bricked because of it, what i mean is hard bricked that is not recoverable by home remedies, it needs JTAG and I have paid alot for it. So I am afraid and sensitive when it comes to Bootloader unlocking, I read the faq's, sticky, and guide here and use search, but no luck. Im kinda annoyed that no one confirms or warns if it is safe or not in FAQ/Stickies, when I first unlock my first x8 it worked out well so I did not bother unlocking my 2nd x8, unfortunately it did bricked(hard). The X10MP that I have is 12w17 MFC, so is it safe? it is past 11w29, so to say in X8 it is not safe IDK in X10MP. Thanks in advance.
EDIT1: I Fiddled abit in this phone, IDK if this is the confirmatory that were looking for, this is what i found:
BTW-Im on stock rom and stock kernel so i have this service mode or something like that
1. Enter *#*#7378423#*#* in the dialer then call
2. Go to Service info
3. Go to Configuration
4. At the lower most entry, there is something that says:
-Rooting Status:
Bootloader unlock allowed: Yes
Is this the answer that we need? or it is all in MFC date? my X10MP is 12w17.
EDIT2: I guess, I did answer my question, the confirmatory is this http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/
The supporting details is EDIT1, BTW thanks for nothing

Seems Bricked :)

Hi Guys,
My xperia mini pro was acting kinda wierd lately with the phone getting stuck while using the slider keyboard. This went on for a day and then the speaker on the phone stopped working and i was forced to use the headset for all calls. Then the very next day, the display went off completely. I have not rooted the phone and its on stock OS. Bootloader is locked too.
I used the search option and found this link which almost completely explains my issue http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1918271
Did as told there, SUS did find my phone and i could reinstall the OS, but it still didnt bring back the display.
So i m off to service center to get the flex cable changed.. :good: wonder y they make this thing so, if the cable damage is almost certain.
My q. is can i unlock my bootloader once the phone arrives from service? I am on 11W49. Had seen a similar thread saying anything after 11w29+ will brick the phone, but it was for Xperia X8. I am using the Xperia mini pro, will it brick the phone? i wanted to load MiUi on it
Unlock it using the official method by sony and it won't brick
If you want to know how to do this, read my guide on how to unlock the bootloader
Sent from my Nexus 4 running Android 4.3
Thanks mihahn,
Will do it once i get it back from service.
The issue of hard bricking would be applicable to X8 alone i suppose.
U can also try unlock it using test poin method. My XMP is 12W07 and everything went fine. But U must be sure, that in service menu under rooting status is Bootloader unlock allowed: yes Otherwise U won't be able to unlock bootloader for free
