Android Beam - Galaxy Ace S5830 General

Is it possible to get Android Beam(from Galaxy Nexus) on the Ace?
In case u don't know what Android Beam is take a look at here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HrBRhm-wKFc

Do u know what is that? Its not bluetooth, behind the battery cover maybe have some antenna like the one on some nokia or blackberry curve 9360, the antenna use for "wave" to pay function like the one on touch N go cards...

Ok, I mean getting the antena...

It's called NFC, or Near-field communication. There is a way to get NFC, then ultimately Android Beam.
First of all, you need Android 4.0 for Beam to work.
Buy a SD card with an NFC chip in it, then follow the instructions that come with it. Generally you have a CWM package to flash which adds some drivers.
You should be ready to go!

[Q] Bluetooth 3.0..... So now what?

Other than ofcourse Wikipedia, which was hard to understand..my Google search results came up empty!
From what I've seen Galaxy S is th only phone with Bluetooth 3.0..
I'm just curious as to what this will bring to the table that other phones will not be able to...
I hope there are some nifty bluetooth gadgets in production for our vibrant!
faster data transfer through bluetooth.
You will be prevented from using the Ryan Frawley's Wiimote App! Congratulations on your bluetooth 3.0 phone!
(And to provide at least some helpful information, he has not responded to any questions about the galaxy s line, our future froyo update may fix this for us).
@PathogenX, Yes I knew that...
@SquareBare yes i'm also aware of that.. i'll just have to wait... i'm liking the multi touch control... which works perfectly so i don't mind waiting til froyo to see what happends ...
i guess i was looking to see if this will mean video streaming or something... i think i saw an article like that b4.. but can't remember
anyways Thank you both for ur fast replies ...!!
The SGS family is the only smartphones in the world (if i'm not mistaken) to have BT 3.0. Okay, the Samsung Wave had it first.

Well, more of the blame lies on samsung than Mr. Frawley.
I read somewhere on these forums that Samsung implemented the bluetooth standard in a somewhat bizarre way. Kind of like how you have to swap wires around when you are connecting the video cable to your TV.
From what I see though, Samsung has acknowledged the issue and will correct it with the upcoming froyo update.

Samsung gets the blame for using the latest technology? How does that work?
I read in a press release from January of last year that the two main features of 3.0 is faster transfer and better battery life. In addition there is suppose to be some security enhancements.
It uses 802.11 to transfer the files like wifi does to transfer files to and from you phone.

This isn't the article that I found before but this is one from the source.

The article I seen explained the bt/wifi thing better and said that bt 4.0 should be out by the end of this year.

[Q] TV Remote control

Hi everyone,
I just bought me a Samsung PS50C6500 and was looking for a remote control application for my phone, seeing the tv has WiFi.
I found an app developed by Samsung to control their TV's, however it's currently only for iPhone, iPad, etc.. Which is strange because Samsung also makes Android phones, but anyway.. I was wondering if anyone has ported this to Android yet?

Tobias

Yes I know, and I have an X10, which runs Android. Therefore I would like to know if there is a port of iRule to Android..
In case the confusion is caused by the Samsung PS50C6500... that's a tv.. not a phone

This one is getting closer? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=748663
not rlly since that seems to work only for samsung phones ^^
make u wish u did post on the wrong section and owned a samsung aye? xD
i wud say try my other idea's ^^
I said "closer" .
And no, really love the design of my X10i , so I'll keep hoping for the brilliant minds of xda to hack that samsung app.
And altough your ideas were good, it's the TV control I'm looking for, not control of a XBMC media server or any other for that matter.
I'm an optimist.. the solution will come
k sorry i cudnt help than ^^

I know what slang is , it's just your sentence constuction that bugged me , and stuff like "idea's" even for slang it's absurd to make a standard word longer . (ideas)
Fellow Dutch human beings....
I could have been mis informed but I read an article the other day about why we can do a lot of complicated things with our smart phone but we are still not able to remote our television set with it. As I remember well it has something to do with the type of signal which is necessary to remote a television. The conclusion there was that with the current technology it can't be done. I don't remember where I read this so this can be marked as the most useless post on xda but I share it anyway. Nevertheless, I am really looking forward to have such an app...just to annoy my wife!

If you wanna install, make sure that the screen resolution is correct. Or else, bootanimation will remain the same.
