Hey,
I'm currently using King Cobra v2.1 and it lets you select between kernels in the installation process. I'm one for battery life (LeeDroid was killing it).
I'm currently using the Stock HTC Kernel, but i've heard the Anryl Kernel is good for battery life too. When I look on Anryl's rom page, there is not much info of the Kernel.
I would really appreciate it if someone could just list a few pro's and con's between the too.
Thanks,
Louis

Okay, so once upon a time, I was a obsessed with flashing. Now I'm old and too busy to keep up with all the activity in the dev sub-forum.
I was hoping somebody would point me to a ROM I can stick with. My primary needs are speed and stability. I don't want a ROM with the latest bells and whistles if it keeps crashing or freaking out on me. I want something that is reliable, has good battery life, and gets the job done.
I would really appreciate help with this. Thank you!

Kinda hard to say depends on the kernel and rom combo. I'm on eternity right now testing it out no crashes for me everything seems to be smooth . Also if cyanogenmod starts putting out roms for the EVO 3d you would have a sweet rom and excellent battery life.
Use CM7 for normal use, excellent batery life and performance
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1393613
(don't have sense (oviusly), HDMI output, 3D camera..... BT stereo works, 2D camera works and everything else)
Use Infected rom eternity sense 3.0 r59 To have all funtions with good Batery life and very good performance etc (or try r74 if you don't want to use HDMI)
those are my recommendations
Eternity 1.4.2 with either RCMix or Anthrax kernel (or what it comes with, stock I think). Although I really like some of the nightly 1.5s Sense 3.0 roms from Virus. I'm on what's in my sig and it is really fast and stable. Decent battery life also.
For stability, everything works, ect.......nocturnals blackened or adrenaline.

I second this. I've been running blackened for toooo long now. Once I flashed it, I could never find anything better so I always return. Very stable and very smooth. Good battery and everything.

I've been using Revolutionary HD, haven't had it freeze or lockup ever.
Not much extra added to the ROM and it's quick and gets great battery.

This is def the most stable rom.
I recently purchased an HTC EVO 3D after realizing the HTC EVO 4G just was cutting it - I found the MeanROM and installed. Simply amazing - blazing fast and serious perks for a dual-core smartphone. Definitely appreciate the great work the team committed to making a truly viable ROM for the EVO 3D using the latest OTA.
This will only be the beginning of you flashing roms...make sure and check out InfectedRom Eternity 3.0 and see what beats audio is all about.
v6 rock with leedroids blue theme
I went ahead and installed the blue theme on the MeanROM. It definitely adds a color theme I really like (blue is my color BTW). However, the battery ICON is a little weird looking, but it looks pretty sharp. I think the MeanROM is for me at this time because it is definitely quality work with respect to the 3D phone.
Cleanrom is ny weapon of choose, with Anthrax RLS 009 kernel

Either Cleanrom or Meanrom is an excellent choice! Scott and Mike have worked together to produce a rom with great speed and unbelievable battery life!

+1, plus I love the charging animation.
Sent from an EVO 3D of the Afro Samurai running a "Mean Rom"
I agree. I have run CleanROM DE pretty much since it came out, and finally took the plunge on MeanROM today. I'm amazed at the speed. It's as fast as DE was overclocked, maybe a bit more and it's stock speed! Sure there are things I'll miss from DE, but I have more to play with now. I have done some tweaking with MeanROM for my personal taste, and am considering a fork possibly. A ROM for those who want to rock.
Honestly, the first thing I noticed is going from 100% to 99% in 3 1/2 hours. I kid you not - the battery life is extraordinarily solid. In addition, the SpeedTests are displaying 4 down / 4 up on average.
If I had one request - if for more tweak of the signal, battery, and scroll glow... just a thought.
Thanks
Meanrom is a very stable, fast, and battery generous ROM. It is my current daily. I have also used virus roms and liked them.

Beats is not fully supported yet in any ROM based on the latest OTA because there is no kernel support for it at this time. Soon though
But yes, I 2nd the Eternity 3.0 nomination to try. IMO it is the best Sense based ROM, with MeanROM being a very close second (for the latest OTA ROM's anyway). I like the styling and coloring of Eternity more than Mean. Try downloading r98
MeanRom and Leedroid
Hey I'm fairly new to this. I have been running meanrom for a little bit now started at v1.7 and today I will be updating to v2.8. The question I have is I recently saw Leedroid Tweaks CDMA v4.0.3. And I have a couple of questions. First, which version do I choose the ota or the non ota? Second I assume I install Meanrom v2.8, then the same way I installed meanrom I install the leedroid tweaks.zip file. Right?
Thanks! I haven't done enough posts to post in the meanrom dev forum, so hopefully this is a good place to ask this.

Install the ota. And just flash the zip. You don't have to wipe just flash. Also you want to download vinz hotspot fix.

+1 I've run every rom mentioned in this thread so far and zr3d is the smoothest in my opinion. Esp on Chad's kernels. Battery life isn't as good as meanrom or viper.... But personally I'd rather have a Corvette over a Prius anyday. There are a crap load of good roms on the forum... Unless its a beta they're all solid, its all on what suits your taste.

Have to agree, new, sort of to custom roms, at least on 3d...but by far the best benchmark with anthrax

Hi,
I have the Sick Sense vx ROM and I was wondering if anyone can recommend an OC kernel that works well with this ROM?
Thanks...
If it 2.08 based I like Anthrax or RCMix 3D. If it's 2.17 based the only one overclockable is Anthrax.

Hopefully you like what is out there man . I like the stock feel with no bloat That's just me tho. Others want tweaks and Oc and what not whatever makes people happy they should do . I like it smooth stable new looks. Battery life is a must too.

You can overclock and get good battery life if you setup your device correctly, check out Chads stock based kernels they offer a good blance of performance and battery life. However how you setup and run your device plays a major roll in your battery life no matter the kernel. Imo.

Lovely rom, great battery and stability. I just need compatible kernels for it! Anyone knows any OC? Thanks!
AnthraX is a good one for OC. But i noticed how it drains your battery pretty fast.

Hi, I am trying this rom right now, and I am considering to keep it as daily rom, but I would like to set cpu at least to 1500mhz as i was always using before on Leedroid ROM + Anryl 10.07 and 10.08 kernel, it was very good performance and battery life too.
Is here some kernel compatible with this Anryl ICS ROM which allows overclocking and has almost as good battery life as Anryl 10.07/10.08? (this is my main question)
I was trying to flash both this kernels, becouse on Leedroid rom they can be overclocked to 1500, but on this Anryl ICS I cant use Anryl kernels at all(phone is not booting at all, was trying few times-just HTC bootscreen 10min+, wasnt waiting more).Thx for reply or some link to same topic, couldnt find any. Sry for bad english
BUMP, I would also like to know this. I want to use a Overclocked kernel on android 4.03 and sense 3.6 using my Evo 3D:fingers-crossed:
