I can't seem to figure out how to access the chat portion in words with friends. I can barely see the chat box on the right hand side of the screen and can access the typing area and the keyboard comes up but I can't figure out how to shift the box over to see what the other person is typing. I'm on cm9 with one of the march nightlies. Anyone else have this problem? Any fix? I can upload a picture if you don't know what I mean but I assume this is a widespread problem.
+1 on this. i love how the app is but something is def not right with the screen size or something. anyone have it working correctly?
Same problem here. I can't even send chat. To let friends know it doesn't work for me. If I have time I will try to change video to that
120 size and see if that helps. looks like the game is set up for a wider screen. Hope they give us a way to adjust it.
My mom is limited in how she can text me and we were using wwf on a regular basis. Real nice app when it works.

What version of words are you using on the cm9 touchpad? I can't seem to get any of the versions to run. 4.50 seems to run correctly but it forces an update to 4.6, which doesn't seem to work. Are you running the nightly?

I haven't had any problems getting any versions of WWF to run on any of the CM 9 nightlies. I do have the chat problems. I've tried it at 120, 132, and 160 dpi. It seems to be a little messed up in all of them. At 120 and 132 parts of the game board are obscured. It also doesn't seem to update game status correctly all the time. My phone is always up-to-date no matter which device I played on last. Sometimes the touchpad will be days behind and hard to get to update.

Ive noticed that many apps do not scale properly on my nc. They just seem to be about a quarter of the normal size and then the rest of the screen is black. Can this be fixed? Has anybody else noticed this?

Uncheck use compatibility mode in either spare parts or the development app.
Thank you! I had given up on Floodfill ever working right again. This fixed it.

Awesome tip. I use the tv.com app on my phone and it wasn't scaling on the NC (or my wife's XOOM). After this fix it is working perfectly. Interestingly enough though, when my wife runs it on her XOOM she doesn't see nearly the amount of available episodes as I do on the NC. Not sure it it has to to with the fact that she's running honeycomb, but she's all jealous of my NC now. lol
How are you liking it? Its pretty bug free for me, aside from Facebook force closing.

Runs nice for alpha, but do not see maps, earth in the market and docs do not work. Was any one able to manage to get these apps working?

I flashed it and it works but clockworkmod does not work .. get andn error and failed boot.. Stuck on what to do to fix it.
Anyone benchmark it at all? Like browser tests especially because that is where WebOS was infuriating.
Sunspider and Browsermark primarily. Also would be amazingly interested in seeing page load tests of a WebOS Touchpad next to a CM7 touchpad, if anyone has two of these things.

Same problem here for me. I Believe the missing apps is a known bug.
Posting this from my cm7 touchpad!
I ran quadrant and there's something wrong with either quadrant or the touchpad because when going through the hallway it only got about 6fps

For what it's worth, touchstone won't charge
it puts it in dock mode, it trips the charger icon so you think it's charging, but it won't actually charge
kinda stinks, that's a major major bug to me
but I guess that's why it's called an Alpha build

Loving it. Hadn't touched my TP for months and had no hesitation to flash the alpha. I'd say for an alpha it is way ahead of most alphas. I'd almost call it a beta, but I guess some of the bugs, (like the wifi losing connection once in a while) are too big to be beta.

I read you can just grab maps and google apps that wont show up in the market from your phone and move them over. Just grab the .apks off the internet if you want. I just transferred over my TI Backup file and am reinstalling all the apps I want now, g maps is working for me.
I installed last night and so far it's great. The performance is great, no lags, all the apps I need\want have installed without any problems. The only issue I've had so is the battery drain makes it unresponsive so I had to power + home until it rebooted.
I got it loaded but the moboot option and recovery options did not work...so I could not boot back into webos. So I just flashed it back to Webos with the doctor. I think I will give it a little more time for the bugs to get hammered out.
Absolutely LOVE it. Super slick and fantastic for an Alpha build. 90% of the things i want for the tablet install and work without a hitch.
One nice surprise, my WebOS portion of my Touchpad was NOT wiped out in the installation. I booted into WebOS earlier, and to my surprise, everything was intact and exactly how it was left pre-CM7 install. I've been playing with it all day, and i must say, battery life has been great thus far. Tablet is showing almost 7hrs of use (display ON for about 5hrs) and still has 40% battery left!
love it. But it wiped everyhig on my webos. So now I have to figure out how to put my pictures and videos back
Overall I haven't had any problems. Can't wait for future updates
No issues except for wifi issues.
I'm running CM7, and I think it runs really well for an alpha release. I've had minimal problems and most problems are easily corrected and there are some workarounds appearing already.
Flashed CM7 yesterday. Seems more like a Beta than a Alpha build. I tried most of my apps and they work without issue. CM7 runs very well with minor hiccups. Some things I did after seeing others have issues
1-Wifi sleep policy set to never
2-Use Setcpu to OC to 1.5 and undervolt at 384 and I have no issues with the device waking up
3-Use the app "Myappsharer" to send the APKs from my Thunderbolt to the tablet and they install with no issues
4-Before I flashed CM7 I made a copy of everything on the TouchPad to my laptop in case it got wiped out.
This was my first time trying WebOs the past few weeks and I kind of liked it. I do not think I will be going back to it though. I definitely prefer the customization of Android.
I am really liking CM7. I installed it this evening and it seems to be chugging along. I was able to install Order & Chaos on it, but I had to change the build.prop in order to get it to run. It played better than I would have thought, for an Alpha version of the OS. I am going to try and overclock it to see if that smooths out the game.
This post in the dev forums includes a fix for the Market so all the apps show up - it's working great for me (I was really missing Dolphin and Tweetdeck). Just flash it via CWM

Didnt OC mine, but i UVed it to 384 to see if that prevents the device wakeup problem. So far so good i believe
I love it, my only thing is dead screen on wake up. It wakes up fine but it's unresponsive. I have to click the power button three times to get it to work.
384 & 14xx
everything works for me, wifi included.

Facebook requires a GPS. Install FAKE GPS and set a location. This will solve the problem with Facebook FC's.
Has any CM7 users recently updated WWF? I did a couple days ago, and now its getting a FC upon opening. When I view the report crash info, it mentions "Screen size not currently supported"
Just wondering if anyone else had this problem?
Yes! I had the same problem as well. In the mean time, I've been forced to use an older version.

My wife is pretty angry about this bug. Anyone find a solution other than using an older version? Anyone have a version that works that they can upload?
Words works for me if I change my lcd density from 160 to 180 or 200.

I thought about trying this. Last time I changed my LCD Density, a few other things got messed up.
I have just been using my Evo, until an update comes out, but may just have to resort to an older version. Seems like the easiest way for now.
Changed LCD to 180, and it works, plus I really like the overall look of the nook now. Icons arent spaced out too weirdly, and bigger fonts make me feel less blind.
I noticed an update available on my transformer today for words with friends. On the nook, it says the app is incompatible and won't update. i was hoping it was going to fix the last update. They suck.

The old version that I found was from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1220069
you don't need to increase it all the way into the eighties; if you change the density to 161 it will work and it won't cause the rest of your widgets to funkify

This is exactly what I did with my girl's NC. Downloaded LCDDensity from the market and bumped it to 161. No strangeness with the widgets and words started perfectly. Thanks!
You could also buy it from the BN store. Their version looks a bit cleaner and works I think at 160 or 161.

Anyone having issues with the newest update. Seems it won't connect to the server.
Yes it was acting up...
I used the dark mod now and don't update. No ads and cleaner:

The update from just a day ago works fine now.
It seems more and more over the past few weeks, I've been noticing that apps aren't compatible with our nooks.
It started with some games, and even though it was just Scrabble, I let it slide. But now Facebook and adobe reader?! What's the deal?
Upgrade to Cm7.1 stable or above or change your dpi to 160.

I've never been able to get scrabble to work, and others have had problems too.
I'm running n253 and my screen density is set to 160. I've always just chalked it up to not following android best practices (my scrabble is 1/4 screen size, but the scrabble exit menu comes up full screen).
Facebook now requires a GPS, some have used GPS tethering, I use "Fake GPS" to fake a GPS location and spoof the facebook check.
I don't know about adobe, I stopped using it.
I bought the Sims 3 a long time ago for my daughter to play on my phone and I thought I'd load it up on the Touchpad for her, but it doesn't show up in a search in Android market, and doesn't show up in my app list as purchased. If I go to the market on my PC though, it's there and showing purchased. I try to send it to my TP as a HP GT-i9100 and it never sends it. My build.prop has been edited to a GT-i9100.
Thoughts on this issue?
There are threads on this topic already. The gist of it is you're going to need to sideload a backup from your phone. Changing your build.prop to a Nexus S will allow you to download it from the market, but once you launch it you'll still need to download the sum of the game from EA's servers, which won't be fooled.
You need to install the game on your phone, back up the apk and the downloaded data from the android system folder on the SD card, and then transfer them to your touchpad.

From what I understand, EA has not updated the game for ICS and I am personally not convinced it can be made to work until (if!) they update it.
I had my build.prop set to a T989 Samsung Galaxy S II and under this setting it did show up in CM7 but it is not showing up with the same build.prop settings in CM9 which is making me think the issue is not the device setting but the actual version of the OS. Comments in the reviews seem to confirm it does not work with ICS and EA has not gotten off their ass to update the game since September, which is BEFORE ICS was even released.
I suppose it might be possible to obtain the apk from some, ahem, unofficial source (and before anyone gets their panties in a bunch I paid for the app a while back it just won't show in the market anymore) and sideload it.
Even if you do that and manage to get it to load and then load the data from another device there is still the issue that the game is made for 16:9 aspect ratio and will not work properly on 4:3. The only way I know of to fix that is to get hacked files that force a 16:9 ratio (with a portion of the bottom of your screen unusable) and I don't believe there is an ICS version of those files, just Gingerbread.
TL;DR - I'm not convinced it can be made to work under ICS and to even attempt it is a huge pain in the ass.

It works fine on ICS. I have it running on alpha .6. The problem is the unsupported touchpad resolution of the TP messes up all the onscreen touch buttons. Maybe EA will update it in the future.

I wouldn't hold my breath. I don't think Android is much of a priority for EA right now.
I did a full wipe when updating to CM9 and reinstalled everything but haven't been able to reinstall Sims due to it as far as I can tell being blocked for ICS. Have you had luck getting it to show up in the market with a particular build.prop under CM9 or did you already have it installed from CM7?
I'm afraid the whole aspect ratio issue makes it not really playable though. I was using the hack posted here that forces 16:9 and it did work fine under that but those files were meant for CM7 and I have my doubts that they will work for CM9.
Anyway, it requires manually copying files, changing permissions and rebooting back and forth which is a pain in the butt. :-/
