Is there an app that anyone is aware of for the dock that freezes the pointer where its at or stop it from jumping somewhere when u type like the program touchfreeze for laptops that does the same but for android. I mean its annoying when u start typing and then look up and see ur pointer jumped somewhere else as u were typing. I appreciate any input . Thanks

its on the keyboard dock itsself, position of where F4 would be on a normal keyboard, you will a picture of a rectangle and I think a cross, that locks the pad.
If you have the TFP docked, on the top row of keys the 4th one in from the left has a picture of a trackpad with a diagonal line from bottom right to top left. If you press this once it disables the trackpad. The button is directly above the small figure on the "3" key on the uk keyboard this is the £ sign (I think US layout is the same except for the " and @ keys)
Hope this helps
Andy
thank you for your replies . i been looking at the screen the whole time and it was on the keyboard the whole time lol. thanks everyone.

Hey all, I just got my dock today and it is awesome. Just had a few questions for you. Is there any way to wake the screen using the keyboard, or an app that will sense when the prime is docked, and leave the screen always on until the light sensor detects that you closed the tab/dock? Also, in the settings there is an option to set the middle button on the touchpad. Am i missing something? Where is this middle button?

Sorry, wish I could help ya. I too have been asking for a list or link to any special key functions.

Anyone out there have a docking station for their X2?
I've noticed that whenever in the dock and the middle of a phone call if you need to bring up the dial pad it shows up behind the button at the bottom. Before the phone call, the dial pad is off to the left hand side you get to dial your numbers. It's once your connected if you need to bring it back up to enter digits.
This is only happening when in landscape mode, which of course is most of the time when using a dock.
I think that's probably my number 1 problem. Yank it out of the dock, flip it right side up, use the dial pad, put it back in the dock...

Same thing here. The dialer is behind the End Call and other buttons.
I don't think this is to crazy, thinking back on the blur Roms the pad was smaller or off to the side. Actually, when you start to dial, the dialer is off on the side, if it were kept that way, problem solved.
Wonder what other cm7's look like.

Looking for dialers on the market. I really don't want to do that. Looks like they're all in Chinese!
Edit: not worth it. I'll just remove from the dock when I need to enter additional digits.

Never thought about this before but if you hold the "4square" option button (all the way to the left), the keyboard pops up, you can select the number keys from there and get your DTMF.
What's that button really called?
Hi,
When I first got the prime, i noticed very quickly that I couldn't type on the onscreen keyboard nearly as fast as on the ipad.
I then noticed the reason was because if I hit the black bar at the bottom of the tablet instead of space by accident, it would close the keyboard.
However if you use the default google keyboard instead of the asus one, hitting the black bar results in a space making typing a LOT easier and faster.
Does anyone know of a way to fix this? I would rather use the asus one as I like the numbers available at the top.
Has anyone had problems with the dock keyboard too? I find sometimes some of the letters don't respond no matter what i try.
Thanks
Kevin
It's called use or make a different one that more closely matches your tastes/needs. I use Hacker's, and sometimes SwiftKey.

One nice thing about Android's openness, you are not confined to any particular on screen keyboard. When I'm not docked, I'll use the thumbs keyboard (I forget the exact name). But when I'm using ConnectBot, its easier for me to use the hackers keyboard. Mostly, however I use my dock because I touch type the best that way (used to certain feedback a physical keyboard provides).

Thumb Keyboard FTW
Down load swype and fly though your typing!!!
Yeah I have thumb keyboard too and yeah it's good. Has everyone else noticed that prob with the main keyboard then? Such an oversight. Most other keyboards actually ignore when you hit the bottom bar which doesn't help either and that includes thumb and hackers. The google one is the only one I feel that gets it right, I.e. making the bottom bar a space bar as well.
Does anyone else have a problem with the docked keyboard when sometimes certain letters just won't work?

Hello xda, is there such a thing as a keyboard that only occupies 1/4 of the screen so that i could type with only my right thumb while holding the tf201 with my right hand? swipe or alphanumeric keypad i think is best for this application....

Is there a setting, or an app that will automatically disable the dock's touchpad while typing? My thumbs hit it while I'm typing, and it sends the cursor (and the typed text) all over the place. Every laptop I've ever owned has automatically disabled the touchpad while the keyboard was in use to prevent this type of issue. I'm hoping there's a way to configure the prime to do the same.

Yep there is a key on the keyboard dock right above the #3 that will disable it.
Thanks, but I was hoping for something that automatically disabled it while the keyboard was in use (and then re-enabled it a second or so after you stopped typing). The button works for now, but I hope that there is an automatic solution soon...

As far as I know there is no setting for that.
The touch pad could use a couple of software settings that would make it much more usable, for instance a setting to disable tap to click would be amazing.
The second or so youd have to wait for the touchpad to reactivate surely is better spent actually pressing the trackpad enable/disable button??
My trackpad is permanently disabled as i find it much easier to navigate on screen rather than use the trackpad.

Same here.
Or you could do what I do and invest in a wireless USB mouse. I have it plugged in all the time because the receiver is so darn small it doesn't matter to me .

I just leave the touchpad off all the time. Don't need it since I can just touch the screen.

I see your logic, however the touchpad is a lot more accurate if you're trying to select a portion of text, or put the cursor in a specific spot. I use the TP for taking notes in meetings a lot, and the touchpad really helps there.
