Gotta go through the web browser or use remote desktop.

using the browser, if I go to HBO Go's website it doesn't give me an option to log in. I must download the app which isn't supported yet.
Download dolphin HD browser, set to desktop mode, and pretend it's the HBO go app. Streams flawlessly, and you can go full screen mode.

HBO Go works fine from the stock browser. about:debug, goto Settings in browser, Advanced, UAString, change to Desktop. I'm able to watch everything on HBO Go without a hitch. I don't understand how people are having problems with this. Works and looks great. Loving Game of Thrones.

Not sure either, I use task manager to kill all running apps, I don't have any live wallpapers running. Quality is good for a few minutes then becomes choppy and drops to like 1 fps.
Is your connection any good? Run a speed test.

Consider rooting and then getting autokiller to manage memory for you. I was idling at 80-120MB ram (which is **** because there is 750MB dedicated to the user space). With taskiller I am able to keep ~280MB free on average. I can watch youtube justin.tv hulu hbo go and other streams @720p quite easily without any chopiness. Also make sure you are up to date on your flash player.
I'm watching HBO Go on a completely stock Galaxy 10.1 with no choppiness. However, I can't seem to get an icon on my desktop. Although I got a message saying HBO Go was being downloaded, nothing showed up in my apps or download folders. I have to use my browser to go to the HBO Go website. At least it works.
Not sure why I'm having so much trouble with my tab. I'll have to check out autokiller and see if managing my memory makes any difference.
But Netflix works just fine.

Anyone else get a Market upgrade today to Version 3.0.27? Mine has an entire new look with Apps, Games, Books and Movies! I'm liking it!
Yup, I spent a lot of time browsing movies. Anyone know if we can get them on the gTab/what ROMs?

My GTab already has Netflix working so I don't want to rent one from the Market. My GTab is rooted and running TNT 4.4 ROM.
My build.prop is edited as:

They're afraid rooted devices can pirate the movies. Like they said it wont play through the market but.....hey have you checked YouTube lately.....
My Vegan-tab gingeredition auto-updated it's market sometime yesterday. I don't even see the movies option. Apps/Games/Books.

Well, it's a DCMA restriction to prevent piracy... so unless they bring in some heavy DRM protection, rooted devices won't be able to play movies through the market.
Quoted from Google Support:
Playback not supported on rooted devices (Error 49)
We do not support playback on rooted devices for copyright protection reasons. You can enjoy your movie on a different device, or on your computer at market.android.com/movies, or on youtube.com/movies if you have a YouTube account.

Is anyone else having issues with the Market on VeganTab Gingerbread version 7. My wifes table is running that. When I launch the Market, it crashes after 6 or so seconds. I removed the update, and it worked for 30 seconds, but then I guess it repushed it self and then crashes again. Tried clearing cache, and all that jazz, but seems like the new version of market isn't working any longer
Are people having issues with Vegan Tab 5.1.
Thanks for any advise or comments

I was able to side load Hbo on the nook tab and kindle fire but cant get it to work on the nook! It works great on the fire! Any ideas how how to get it to work?
What does "can't get it to work" mean? Does it give an error? Does it not install?...
Edit: Just fired up HBO go, it starts to play then hangs with black screen and "HBO GO" logo in the center.

anyone know when/if this will be resolved?
why no hbogo
Apparently the problem lies in the stock browser on the Nook Tablet...you can't sign in through this (or other NT available ) browser(s). For example you can't sign in using the Dolphin browser either. I have not rooted yet but have hopes once I do I can get in through opera mini or some other browser as I understand the Hbogo market app hangs on the tablet. Hope this helps...anyone rooted and tried other browsers or does the market app work when rooted as opposed to side loaded?
Got a rooted Nook with a Droid3 build prop and the HBO Go app from the market works great.

Hmm. Well, I've found that some apps just don't work all that well on the version of Android that comes with the Nook Tablet. I've been running a super-early alpha of CyanogenMod 7 for a while though and some apps that never worked on the stock OS work just fine now.
If you're willing to flash CyanogenMod 7 to your Nook Tablet, there's a ROM/Release that's very likely coming next week (you can read a bit about it in the development forum). Right now there's nothing available, but what's coming is looking very promising. You also wouldn't have to sideload it in CM7 - you'd be able to install direct from the Android Market.
I have my build.prop set to nexus s and HBO Go works flawless. I think you need to mod your build prop for it to work.
I have been running HBO GO without issue until yesterday when I did the update. Now it say device is not supported. I am wondering if anyone else who is running cm7 also encountered this and is there a work around. I tried changing build prop to nexus s and still doesn't work. Any help would be appreciated.
I'm seeing the same thing with the app. Using the web access works fine. I actually prefer the web interface. BTW the Max GO app upgrade broke also.
My Nook Tablet also crapped out on HBO to Go. I tried to revert back to version 1.0301 and it seems to work for everything until you try to sign in then you get the force close.
On my Viewsonic Gtab HBO to Go is running version 1.31111 and the video and audio is very choppy. I am really upset about this. My NT was my go to device for HBO!
Surprisingly my Samsung Galaxy Nexus, unrooted and running Ice cream 4.02 has version 1.41734 of HBO to Go now and instead of saying unsupported device, now runs HBO to G0 wonderfully!
What browser on your android device are you all using to get access to HBO to Go? I cant see to get to the sign in box....I am going crazy!

Verizon FiOS is my "cable TV" provider and I subscribe to HBO and therefore get full HBO GO as part of the subscription. FiOS is fiber not "cable."
I recovered the prior apk for both HBO Go and Cinemax Go from my other NT -- moved them to the one that had been updated, installed and I'm back in business. My next task is to back up EVERY apk file to my PC so I can recover when apps break when they're updated.

What version is it? Can you post it here?
I am not sure if others have had issues with HBO Go since the May 4th update. I started getting the force close and was unable to sign in again. Well I am happy to report after finding an older version of the apk file on this very site - I am up and running again. It is the HBO Go 7 apk file.
Does anybody have an older version of the Max Go apk?
I hope this helps some of you.

Yes, I was running a rooted Nook Tablet when I lost HBOgo as well. They updated the version of their apk which is what disabled it for us. I have the previous version on my phone but have not had time to grab it..I've decided to wipe and install CM7. So, as soon as I get to it I will post the old V 1.3.1 HBOgo apk for ya'll.
Sorry to make you wait!

Yes i can confirm i installed flash 11.1 apk and its working perfectly.
flash works fine in the stock browser, you just need to side load a flash APK. Anything 11.1 or higher will work fine. Enjoy your porn :silly:.
It works well with boat browser and boat lets you set the user agent to desktop
Where did you find the Flash .apk?

So, even though it's JB the stock browser works with Flash? That's a big plus since I'm not yet ready to give up in-browser Flash videos. Now, it just needs root, SixAxis and Wireless Tether and I'll be content.

All Adobe said was that Flash for Android would be discontinued and wouldn't be officially supported by them after ICS. That doesn't mean it won't continue to work on some devices running 4.1 on up, just that there's no promise of working. I think Flash is still working with most Jelly Bean devices.

Same here. I doesn't work properly on some youtube videos. Some videos show scrambled lines but no pictures, some others just won't play. I installed the same JB version of Flash that I've been using on my SG3 (worked perfectly on all dozens of custom ROMs that I had flashed) and on my ATT Note (also on dozens of ROMs from AOSP, AOKP, to CM10 etc...) Good idea! Apparently it is working according to the test pages. Maybe its just certain sites use a different player not suited for mobile...ill download dolphin beta and see if it works. Ive been out of the loop for a bit...why has adobe stopped supporting android? That was a major advantage of android in the early days.
Web site is probably borked and not handling browser user agent ID correctly. For example, videos on main page Yahoo don't work but Yahoo Movies do. Other tech news sites work too.

CNN videos work fine for me in Boat Browser. Been using that browser exclusively for about 6-months now and is about the best and fastest browser for Android with Dolphin coming in a close second.
You can get all of the Flash versions, and the latest (old) version of Dolphin that supported Flash from this link here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1774336
I'm using the latest version of Flash (11.1.115.27) and the latest version of Boat Browser.
Just letting you guys know...CNN is a strange website in that
If you ever enter CNN without the Desktop Mode enabled and try to watch a video, then they drop a cookie in your browser, so when you come back to the website with Desktop mode, flash videos will not work. So the solution is to clear your cache.
I am having the best luck with Beta Firefox, addon: Desktop by Default (makes sites think your phone is a normal computer so no mobile bull****) and Adblock Plus (gets rid of most annoying popups etc)
Also found that when you go full screen on flash videos, you should turn the phone to the correct side of landscape so the video doesn't have to flip 180 or 90 degrees and there be a chance for it to freeze; sounds odd but a really buggy old flash page kept freezing when I went full screen the wrong way but loaded normally when I used the correct method.
Coming from the GNex, seems like Samsung's software is a little less forgiving then Google's unfortunately so steps like this seem necessary for the moment.

I just tried Firefox Beta again. Still blows. There's no full-screen, no homepage, no way to keep "request desktop" permanent, no way to access tabs in the full-screen add-on without turning full-screen add-on off, accessing tabs, then turning full-screen add-on back on again.
Desktop by Default seemed buggy and not always on.
Although Firefox was blazing fast, they've got a long way to go options-wise before they can compete with other mobile browsers.
