As you all know, to get the Camera working on Ice Cream Sandwich we need some drivers.
Here's my idea. Get as many people as possible to write to Samsung and complain about the lack of ICS (there's really no excuse as it is possible as proved by Wayland and Maclaw) and also about making some open-source camera drivers for ICS so if Samsung can't be bothered to make an ICS ROM for us, at least let other developers have a go.
If as many people write to Samsung we might get some help!
Sony Mobile help developers by open-sourcing the drivers and helping them. Samsung should do the same.

Pretty pointless, Samsung need to push their new products. A year is when they stop focusing on a device, make way for the new. And besides I think Maclaw and co are doing a fantastic job.

Phone wise if u see defy is a better phone than ace.....but when u see in terms of service samsung is Way ahead

I dont own a defy but I do own a MB200 Dext and also a samsung s5830.
Motorola build quality is 2nd to none and since google have just purchased motorola mobility it might be a wise move.
BUT
when it comes to modding the phone - Odin in conjunction with samfirmware.com gives you everything you need to get you phone back if you brick it whereas on the Dext if you bricked it you were lucky to recover it depending on the necessary firmwares been available... and sometimes they are not.
Also Sumsung has just hired the priciple modder of the Cyanogen mod which means they are going to concentrate on their software development.
I suggest that you physically go and handle a defy and have a play with it and then make a decision - remember its going to become part of you and therefore you have to like it.
One thing about motorola IMHO is the motoBlur - you either love it or hate it - most of the roms that I have seen remove it - but in what it does it does well - it just the way it looks but it does drain resources big time to be continously connected to the net either 3G or Wifi.
I hope YOU make the right decision for the right reasons - good luck in your choice.

Some of you contacted me and requested if i would like to develope for the Galaxy ACE and help you to solve some problems. Because of this and because of the fact that a friend of someone out of our Team bought one I started developing.
Problem is that we have not really a device we can use for developeing (we can´t use our friends every time ^^) and especially things like ICS Porting or Kernel developing needs one (we must test the files for working first).
So now BlockBuster Team would like to know if the user community here is interested in donating a device to us for development.
I mostly developed for the Galaxy S before, but also for Galaxy SLC (http://www.xda-developers.com/android/ics-ported-to-galaxy-s-i9003/) Galaxy 3... Mostly I´m developing by myself (kernel, scripts, tweaks, custom roms) but I teach other people who want to learn developing, too (like 5pace) . Check out my Threads, my Tutorials and our Homepage. I´m currently waiting for Galaxy S 3 release, so i´ve now the time for your device.
So what do the users of this community think? Let us know your opinion in this thread. If you want we can create a Paypal account and you can start to donate.

Because he want lot of people from XDA add him on his Google plus, see his google plus you yourself know and you better know XDA is a world wide community. according to him it is the place where he can impress more person by his work and wanted more people add him. In short he want to be famous for his ROM. So you, all youth have to decide whether it is rite or wrong.

IF he really did build his own ICS, then and only then, unban him with the caveat HE MUST RESPECT OPEN SOURCE — Trent never shared his source code. He couldn't prove he didn't just relabel source from other projects. If he can't demonstrate original code, he isn't a "dev" and there is no great harm with XDA maintaining its ban on him for clearly breaking several other rules...

1. Make your own rom
2. Stick with stock rom, don't join xda and don't spam the devs here
3. Email Sammy( I doubt anyone's gonna try this but this is worth a shot )
4. Request the xda devs to create one use the magic words like please, thank you, excuse me, "sir" etc ..
They are working free of cost ..they deserve some respect
So u found a bug a rom and u r bugged by itD) :
1. Google the problem ..there is a possiblity that the problem is already solved

So? Old dev go new dev comes...
Edit: there are no new rom or script nowdays, its just a themed rom and a edit script...u know but did not admit it...

If you think making ROMs is soo easy, then go make one yourself. And respect others hardwork, all devs are doing it for free. We are sacrificing our precious time to do all this. We have to handle academics and other stuff too :banghead:

No, not really. I got PM's from few people, they apologised and requested me not to leave. So, I am not leaving now. But, I may, in future.

Good news! I think this is the good decision. I don't know the other communities, I just hear, that the other communities are better. I think our Ace is a very popular device, and there's a lot of people, who doesen't read even, or carefully enough, and that's why the noob questions. (I even made this mistake, but than I kept quiet, read, and learn, and read, and learn, and than come back for posting.) I think you should leave them without an answer. Noobs will always be here, and everywhere...
But those, who say that your work is not good enough, or always asking about ETAs, and so on... No, I can't understand them. They are not just noobs, they are simply miserable, who don't know, that this is not your job, you don't get money for this, and you have privacy either. With theese people... I don't know what to do.
But sure: I'm really happy, that you stay!
