[Mod]Samsung keyboard on CM9 or Aokp - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

Looked through multiple threads found nothing, asked questions annoyingly and didn't get an answer. So this is my last choice sorry.
I want to run Samsungs ics keyboard on CM9. I try to install it and get "application not installed"
So then placed it in /system/app and the ticked rw-r-r and then restarted Samsung keyboard not to be found.
So what am I missing? CM9 and Sammy roms incompatible with Samsung keyboard app? Any help would be so appreciated. Thanks!

You are on an AOSP based rom and do not have the framework setup for a Samsung based rom.

Yes, but does the Samsung keyboard rely on Samsung framework? Or can it be installed stand alone like some of the Samsung apps

If you installed the AxT9IME.apk (the Samsung keyboard apk) in your CM9 app folder and it doesn't work, then it must rely on the Samsung framework.
Otherwise, what is so special about the Samsung keyboard other than a dedicated ".com" key?

What? Like /system/app folder or am I missing another location. The Samsung keyboard is nice for my fingers and I just like it a lot more than the stock keyboard.

Of course, system/app folder....that's the place.
I'm on SHOstock2 now after being on both CM9 and AOKP for the longest time. Keep an eye on that thread for a possible move if the Samsung keyboard won't work for you. It is a North American Samsung i9100 ICS rom (ported to i777) with a solid, experienced dev.

as black as night (or like the BlackFroyo themed keyboards)
Yes I get fc too. This happend earlier today when I flashed a diff multi-touch keyboard. The problem is that this is only compatible with 2.1. We need someone to port this to 2.2.
It's an app, so there should be away to do this without root, but this requires root.
This is for 2.2, not eclair.
Post 1 updated. Go to that other thread... i sesrched, but i thought it would be here... not the dev section.
text prediction (@ least in spanish) isn't that great compared to some other KB's but nonetheless this is a good sign of things to come
I stumbled on this this morning. I have to say, this is the best keyboard I've used in portrait mode. Not counting Swype of course.

[Q] Wiimote app that works?

Does anyone know if any of the wiimote apps work for our phone? I tried it back when i was running nero but im not sure if its ROM specific or the phone itself. Or maybe its the apps i have been using. Can anyone shed some light on this?
Anything based on a Samsung Ron will not work. The Bluetooth stuff is located on the framework and on the Samsung ones, it's missing some important parts.
The only roms that work with the wiimote are cm6/7 and miui.

Well thats just a tragedy. So my options are pick a rom that isnt finished, or looks like poop and have my wiimote, or keep my awesome sauce and do without?
Yep. One or rye other but not both.

Wait. After some thought, it seems all of the gingerbread rims are able to use it. Hmmmm

[Q] Spell check with underline

Hi,
Has anyone managed to get the standard ICS spell checker with red underline working? I know now that CM9 etc are out I could install one of these roms to get it, but I currently still like TW.
I found this thread relating to achieving this on the SGS2 but nothing similar for the SGS3.
Can anyone help?
Thanks.
This would be nice

Hmm, this doesn't seem to load on my Galaxy S III from Telus (Canada) - model is i747 I believe... is that why? I'm looking for red underlining of misspelled words like on my old BlackBerry
It has to be moved to /system/app

Stock keyboard not working after flash

I kind of liked the stock keyboard that came with the galaxy s3, it no longer swypes or has the voice input since I rooted my phone using the guide in the stickies. Anyway to get those features back?

same thing happened to me, install the swype beta, it works better than the stock one and has integrated voice search.

I thought the same but if you press and hold down the key between the sym and space bar you can toggle to between the mic, write, Settings

Thats because you installed the root stock rom that is stripped. The developer stripped a lot of apk and I think Swype was one of them. You either have two choices. You can either download his zip file of all the apk and odex files that he stripped and install them back by pushing them through adb OR you can wipe your phone clean and re-flash, using Odin of course, with this Clean Rooted Stock Image located here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1762204
Personally I used the last option. I used Titanium backup to do a full backup, did a factory reset, reflashed with Odin and recovered eveything with my full backup. Also, you can use Titanium Backup to freeze all the verizon bloatware that you don't want to have, this is the safest way fro me. Hope this Helps!

Isn't it like jb 4.2 keyboard?
yes and No
the Note 2 keyboard has the number on top of the Keyboard which is something i like most about the keyboard
4.2 keyboard has built in swype tho which is a plus
So does the stock Samsung keyboard for Note 1. What's different?

I've been looking for it as well... it has built in swype just like the JB keyboard plus the numbers in the top from the Samsung keyboard and automatic s pen detection.

Please do!!! I found a zip for the S3. I tried flashing it but no luck.

A good remedy in the meantime could be lowering the longpress time to 200 - 300 ms on swiftkey flow.
You get the swype feature and the numbers on top with a very short long press. Kinda ironic.
Works for me!

I'm going to take a look at the ATT & TMO stock ROMs to see if I can get this running on the NOTE1.
There is an old thread that lists the following as dependencies for the Chinese keyboard:
/system/app/SamsungIME.apk
/system/lib/libhandwritelib.so
/system/lib/libjni_secime.so
/system/lib/libXT9.so
/system/lib/libXt9core.so
The lib files for the version of MyScript used on the NOTE 2 keyboard are located at:
/system/lib/libMyScriptEngine.so
/system/lib/libMyScriptEquation.so
/system/lib/libMyScriptHWR.so
/system/lib/libMyScriptShape.so
/system/lib/libMyScriptSolver.so
Of these '/system/lib/libMyScriptHWR.so' is the most likely dependency for the keyboard. The other libs are most likely SNote/SMemo related.
I was able to get the new Android keyboard (JB_MR1) working on the Stock ROM by completely uninstalling the old one then installing the new via TB. It didn't work for me by simply updating the new on top of the old.
IDK if this is what you are looking for, but number 7 works for our phone also!!!

I haven't been here a while, should I try to get these dependencies into the current ROM? I can upload that as well..

Any update on the compatibility? One handed gesture typing with numbers on top sounds like awesome sauce.

No go from my end. Put in the lib in the correct place rebooted and nothing. Here is the file in case someone wants to move or test it some other way. It is the lib file from the last reply. http://db.tt/5Jk97V6r
