Hi, I've received my Monster Beats tour w/control talk today (fake ones ) and when I plug them into my Xperia neo I get "Not supported" message. Does someone know how to fix that ?? Thanks !
Do they have a microphone?

Yes they do, I managed to get them working by using my old x1 headset wire which is made by two pieces(male 3.5 jack to female + male to in-ear headphones). I plugged beats into SE female jack but obviously mic and + - buttons don't work. Do you know about any tweak to get them working without SE adapter or to get beats hardware buttons working on neo?? Thanks!
They won't work. Read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19388479#post19388479
Hold down the play/pause button and then insert the headphone cable into the device (still holding down the button). Continue holding down this button for a few seconds aftre plugging in.
Your headphones should now work using this cable
People have wedged things like paper to keep the middle play/pause button held down for the control talk cable to work.
headphone/earphone that have control talk doesn't work with this phone,i have monster turbine with control talk and it not fully work
but now i change the jack and it work like a charm

Hi guys,
I recently lost my Shure SE420's and have upgraded to a set of Ultimate Ears Triple Fi 10 Vi IEM's. I bought the 'Vi' version as it has a built in mic for handsfree and a button to answer/hang up. The box said for iphone and blackberry compatible but I assumed the x10 would have no worries as its the same 3.5mm jack.
Turns out I cannot use them as the button appears to be inverted for the x10 / Android, ie its permanently in 'hang up' position. Tring to make a call immedialty displays 'call ended', but if I hold the button down it allows me to call out and releasing it hangs up.
Listening to music is terrible, it sounds robotic and keeps chopping the sound, but when the button is pressed it works fine.
Tested the headphones on my old HTC Touch HD (wm6.5) and a friends iphone and they work perfectly so appears to be an android / x10 issue. The only work around to listen to music is using a 3.5mm extender which doesnt use the mic (one less connection on the jack)
Is there something ive missed in the settings or does anyone know a workaround? Its driving me nuts!
Thanks
its because the wires dont go to the same conections in the x10 compared to the iphone, if you know what i mean. there is no setting because they are hard wired. if you are good with that sort of thing you could make an adapter, afaik that would work but its a lot of hassle.
Does anybody have a headphone with build in mic that actually works on the X10?
yea my stock sony headset that came with the x10 have built in mic and they work fine....

Really? What model headphones are those? The ones I got with my X10 came with an extension remote/microphone that you can use with any headphones, but the extension makes the cables too long so I'm looking for heaphones with the microphone build in.
I tested my Ultimate Ears Triple Fi 10 Vi on an EVO before I bought mine and they worked great. They also worked until around the time of the latest OTA update. Now they don't control music or answer phone calls. I highly doubt the headphones broke but I ordered a replacement cable just in case so hopefully that's it but I suspect they broke something with the update.
Hi! I was wondering of an app that can live monitor my voice on my omnia, in other words I want to hear my voice on the headset so I can connect my phone with an amplified loudspeaker and hear my voice live (without delays) in the loudspeaker. Is that possible? That wold be cool, turn your phone into a speaker system. Please if you can do a reserach and give me an answer, thank you!
mic in headphone jack?
So, does the X10 have the 4 connector-type of headphone jack? Mono headphone jacks have only two conductor areas separated by an insulator; stereo headphone jacks have a third zone; and there are some devices that use a fourth zone adding a presumably mono mic to the mix.
I've been thinking Bluetooth is the only way to add a mic to the X10.
I have one of these mic/headphone combos for my ipod (for skype) and it does the same thing with my X10. I found that if I plugged it in the X10, then pulled it out by about 2-3mm, it worked fine for audio and microphone, but the button would be inactive. Best workaround I can think of.
the original headphone with mic is the best, don`t need to change it
wow so now my skullcandy's w/mic decide to work on pandora radio..
I found this adapter, which might be a fix for the hard-wiring. It's called "FiiO LU1 smart adaptor cable converter".
I am also looking for a wired headset (not in-ears). I know the one from Koss iPorta Pro isn't working.
Today, I found this other one, pretty cool, which claims to be working for most sonyericsson phones: Cresyn C550S black.
Not sure if the adapter is needed though. Maybe it would fix the problem with the
Let me know if you are using any nice wired headphone with mic that is working with x10!
Hi.
This is my first Samsung so, have mercy
None of my headphones are working.
I only get sound in one side and the other is too low. Almost inexistent.
I tried with cable to connect it to my audio system and the same.
Next step was to use the hands free from my X10.
Is working ... but not as expected. Almost no bass and no trebles.
The only ones working are the ones from the SGS2 box or using my headphones via MW600 bluetooth (which i don't like it as it drains more batter and the SGS2 is power hungry)
So, is a problem with the 3.5" ?
Or my headphones?
Or ... is a compatibility problem? Can i find somewhere an 3.5" adapter?
Thanks
Its gonna sound dumb but u have plugged the jack all the way in yeah? Takes a little bit more force than u think

Worked with other headsets for me
- Dell streak headset
-Iphone headset
Needed that extra push to fit the pin in really well
Well, i'll try one more time ... anyway, earlier i found something else using the X10 headset.
If i press the "answer" button from headset, everything is fine but as soon as is de-pressed ... it goes back.
I have a similar problem with my expensive Shure earphones. They sound much worst and "tinny" then the standard earphones that come with the S2. Even if these earphones are cheap, at least the sound is acceptable.
If I plug the output of the S2 into my car stereo, I again have terrible sound. I am not sure if this has anything to do with the fact that the stock S2 earphones have 4 contacts on the jackplug as compared to 3 on normal jackplugs. The extra contact, I presume, is to permit the switch for fast forward to work on the headphones.
I can't understand why other people don't have this problem - and yes the jack plug is pushed right in.
Yep, pretty sure, the jack is down entirely and still not working.
I tried with the SE X10 headset and normal stereo headphones
I think i will have to stick with the bluetooth if i can't find an adapter of some sorts.
My friend has an iPhone and he uses V-Moda headphones and when I bought this phone, he wanted to see the output and connected the headphones to XPS and it doesn't recognize the headphones even though its 3.5mm and on the top the music plays through the speaker in the back.
I have checked the headphones with several other phones like HTC and Nokia they are working fine.
Does anyone know why and how to use these on XPS?
If there are any good headphones for XPS, please suggest.
The ones provided are cheap and sound is poor.
Hold down the volume+ button on the headphones, insert the headphones into the jack, release grip from volume+ button, play music.
I will try this option and let u know if worked or not.

Damn, you are great! Didn't find this little guide anywhere, doing this I am finally able to use my Sennheiser HD 218i with my Xperia S Thanks!
Hi, i am new here.
I have a Sony Xperia s and a sennheiser px 100 IIi.
I tried many ways to connect it to the phone and understood something: connecting it while pressing the central button the phone recognizes it like headphones so I can also calling on the phone by talking to the mic of the phone; if you instead connect it while pressing the + vol or - vol the phone recognize it like an headset BUT the mic does NOT work so you won't be able to call neither talking to the headset nor to the phone mic.
hope to have been useful!

Do you guys know of any in-line remote control earphones that work with the mini pro?
I've been searching the internet and apparently, the mini pro has a non-standard 3.5 jack. If you plug some regular earphones in the socket or use the pre-packaged earphones in another device the sound gets distorted.
I've been using the earphones that came pre-packaged with the phone but they're really tatty and worn out now. And they only have 1 button. (I know there are apps that can rewind/fastforward etc based on how many times you press the button, but I'd like more control.
So which models should I go for? You'd think that you'd be safe buying any Sony earphones, but even they aren't 100% compatible with the mini pro. Failing that, is there some kind of adapter I could use?

It's a standard 3.5 jack in the mini pro, no distortion with other headphones. Which means you should be able to use any standard pair of remote control headphones.
I don't use volume control headphones, but I sure don't use the junkphones sony provided with the phone, no problems whatsoever.
Not quite the same but bluetooth adapters have buttons (like the mw600)
Thanks but I listen to music a lot on my phone and I can't spare the battery life.
It's definitely a non-standard 3.5mm jack on my mini pro. I know because I've tried other earphones with it and the sound is distorted. Similarly, I've tried the pre-packaged earphones in other devices and there is hardly any treble at all unless I hold down the mic button.
Has anyone got their XMP working with a remote-control headset?
any headphone will work, its a standard 3,5mm jack, im using a brainwavz headphone and works perfectly
Battery lasts longer when using a bluetooth like the mw600 for playing music through headphones
as the adapter is the amp (The headphones plug into it) Also the headphone jack on the phone is a standard!

Are you seriously saying that having the bluetooth constantly switched-on and paired to the earphones gives a BETTER battery life? That's probably the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. The amps inside earphones are tiny and hardly draw any power at all. If we were talking about big home theater speakers then you'd probably be right.
And it's definitely not a standard 3.5mm jack. Like I say, I've tried normal earphones in the mini pro and I've tried the earphones that came with the mini pro in other devices and the sound is totally distorted. I have to keep the answer call button constantly pressed down to get a decent sound out of them, which isn't practical.
So does anybody know which wired, remote-control earphones WILL work with the mini pro?
Afaik android doesn't support the separate play, pause, stop, next button for controlling music.
I had the wh-701 earphone which came default with nokia n8. It got the remote control for music but none of the buttons ever work with my lww, and i doubt it ever will, its android limitation.

So... It's an Android limitation the fact that some earphones with remote contol buttons doesn't work... That kinda sucks :/

Firstly the phones battery lasts longer when playing music through bluetooth adaper thats powering the headphones
like the mw600 to headphones Vs playing music directly to headphones plugged into the phone.
Ive used the adapter on a few different phones!
For the last time I will repeat these words. The Mini pro has a 3.5mm jack.

So I decided to get a new pair of headphones and I found the Coloud Headphones Site but I thought to myself that the mic won't work because of the xperia mini's jack input, because as you may know it doesn't support almost any headphones with mic and a button except if you hold the button pressed or just stop it from working. So that's why I am at this forum asking you people for a suggestion about a jack for input like this, that could support a microphone. Thanks in advance ! :fingers-crossed:
