Where can I get a digitizer w/o the AT&T logo? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

Hi, does anyone here know where can i get a digitizer without the at&t logo I saw a white galaxy note with a black screen digitizer and I have to say It looks awesome! like a huge galaxy nexus... but, however i looked all over the internet and i cannot find any that doesn't include the lcd, the ones with no lcd are for the n7000.

It's probably easier to get a black Note and swap the battery cover, than to get a white Note and swap the digitizer...
Same effect

Yes, but I need a european version because I don't want the AT&T logo on it.

The Euro version will not be i717, and will have the button on the bottom.
Maybe a Rodgers or Bell, Canadian version, will be what you want(?)

I would suggest you ask or look in the GT-N7000 sub-forum (I assume that's the model you have). I doubt the AT&T logo digitizer would work as a replacement for your Euro version. Also make sure your phone doesn't or has the glass/digitizer glued together before you order and waste your money.

I suspect the Canadian versions are similar to the AT&T version, as they all have the same model designation + a letter to differentiate between carriers.

Rogers Note here, no AT&T logo anywhere, just says Samsung at the top.

Thanks for the clarification, guess reading through tapatalk I wasn't reading it right
How about a screen protector with colored border?

This continues to be 1 of the main issues with the US carriers: their lame branding...
And the fact they decide to give different names to the same exact phone models (except with some changes here-and-there).
Too bad here in the US, we only get the iPhone and Motorola phones early (which is pathetic). We can thank the 2 reasons listed above for this fiasco.

Aren't the expensive? Like around $250 I believe

the screens are interchangeble. You can get screen without logo for international version but also you will need a set of new buttons. Since the screen is glued to housing it is also easier to install with new housing. Then just flash the rom with international version because of the button. Digitizer is glued to lcd touch so expect to waste roughly $300-350 in order to get rid of att logo. As stated earlier its not worth it.

You can't flash an international rom, it will brick the phone. The hardware is different.

Is there a reason why my GS2 has no samsung or carrier branding?
Completely black at the top, and logo at back.
I like it, but have always been curious as to why.
Here are some pics. MAybe it is carrier branded I never noticed the "q" thing before which carrier is that?, but there is no samsung.....
Seeing as I have been flashing roms for the past two weeks and no issues, so It seems genuine...
Quadrant=3229(Normal)
Are serial numbers on battery and label behind it supposed to be the same?
and BTW I have a matte screen protector, thats why its not glossy.
and lcd density set at 200, which is why the font looks slightly smaller
Battery and label looks official
Thanks!
Oops, shouldn't it have a Samsung logo just above the screen and under the Earpiece? The battery cover at the back could be easily replaced with an original one, and that icon at back is the NFC icon right? So is it a Korean GS II or what?

My GS2 has Samsung on the top of the front and at the bottom of the back but came unlocked to all networks, personally i wouldn't buy a phone with say Vodafone or any mobile network branding on it again.
I though every SII has "Samsung" on the top front, no matter if branded or not

Nah, the NFC icon is this.
had ISDB-T antenna in corner so could it be a SC-02C? If so why does settings say its GT-I9100 and have no SC-02C branding at back?
Does anyone know what the icon in back is?
Even though quadrant is good, I'm really starting to worry...
I appreciate everyone's help.
Ah, the box tells alot
Its apparently a SHW M250-K, so not a GT-I9100, but still a GSII model!
The Q things is an O for Olleh its KT carrier in korea. Yes my phone is korean, but I took a chance and had bought it in China.
Though none of this explains the lack of Samsung branding in front. Or does it?
(or why my settings tells me its a GT-I9100 or is that the ROM's doing?)

Does the SMS work? Because the SMS technology is locked to specific Korean carreir so you will not be able to use it. If I recall correctly.
If you did a google image search with the model, it would appear that there is no Samsung branding in the front.
No, sms works on china unicom for me (im living there for now).
But I've just discovered some inconsistencies.....
The box says its an SHW-M250K but sticker behind battery says M250S....
What is the difference between the two?
The battery has NFC label, but I have no Idea how to test if thats real.
What do you guys think? (about whether my phone is valid GSII)
Hmm the box has SHW-M250K and Olleh printed on it, but it has stickers and barcode sticker, that indicate SK telecom. Also, I've just discovered that M250S is SK and M250K dentoes KT. Seems a bit odd.
Again, Thoughts?
When I google'd "Galaxy S II" it came up both with samsung logo and without?
Not quite sure
Edit: SHW-M250K is the korean model which doesn't have a Samsung logo on the front
So yeah, it's not fake
The original Samsung Galaxy S II had a different front and a back cover. There was no branding on the front. The prototypes that our team saw had no branding. I can post a picture if you want.
Random but applicable---I also cannot get FM radio app to pick up fm radio in China. Does that have to do with my region settings (USA or Europe are only choices), or is this another inconsistency?
Where did you buy this device from?
Dinghao Electronics Market, Beijing. Which is black market.
I know not the best idea, but It was my only chance to get one...
Anyways, I just discovered that Korean GSII has DMB chip instead of FM radio chip, bummer, but not a big deal.

Now what to do the Samsung Note is coming to ATT

Nothing about that article says the Galaxy Note is coming to AT&T.
In fact if you look at the model number, it's clear that the version that just went through FCC approval will never be sold by AT&T. Usable on AT&T - yes. Actually sold by AT&T - no.
AT&T phones have a model designator starting with SGH. SGH-I897 (Captivate), SGH-I997 (Infuse), SGH-I777 (AT&T GSII)
International generic units have a model designator starting with GT. The unit in that article is GT-I9220. So it's an international model that, while it will work on AT&T's network, will NEVER be sold by them in a contract-subsidized fashion. AT&T has NEVER sold a GT model on contract in the United states. If history is any indicator, if the Galaxy Note is ever sold by AT&T, it's going to be about a six month latency before the AT&T version drops. (See, for example, the delay between the GT-I9100 and the SGH-I777)

How would one obtain an international version for T-Mo then? Or is it a possibility that they will pick it up?
If it's like the I9100, an International variant supporting the T-Mobile bands won't exist. T-Mobile may or may not sell their own variant.
The heavy customization of the T-Mobile GS2 is a sign that you likely won't see the Note sold on contract with TMo or even any compatible with their 3G bands.
I'm happy with my Streak...even if it is still running 2.2.2, but, I'm looking at the Note also. If it gets to at&t before summer of 2012, I'll grab it.
Is it going to have a notifications led light?

I've carried the 5" streak in a velcro closing belt loop case for over a year w/o any problems. The Note, with the 5.3" screen has less top & bottom than the streak does, so it won't be all that different

TOO Big for my taste. and too small to be a "pad"... not sure where this falls in to .. I'll be keeping my SGS2... only thing I WOULD change to is the Prime
I think the Note would be great for me, especially at work where carring even a 7" pad would be restrictive. I would use the stylus to write my notes all day long at work.

I've had the streak in my pocket every day since December 26 2010. Not an issue at all, if it is then you haven't owned one or have a very small figure or wear skinny jeans. I can't wait for the Note to come out, it will be in my pockets daily as my personal phone, along with my Atrix work phone. And BTW, the Streak is more often in my front pocket than back.
I've had the S2 since Friday and I love it. However, I have had my eye on the Note since I heard about it last month. Looks like a lucky family member will be getting my S2 once the Note come out If I don't like the Note then I'll take my S2 back, I can because I'm indian.

T-Mobile and AT&T: New Forum?

I figured someone with more knowledge on this could set the record straight. The T-Mobile version of the Galaxy S II went on sale today and mine should arrive tomorrow. MY GUESS is that ROMs, modems, and kernels would not be interchangeable between the two devices. So should a new forum be created for the T-Mobile variant? Anyone have some insight?
EDIT: Question answered. Yes... we will need a new forum for the T-Mobile variant.

As to a new forum - no one in this forum would be able to do it, we're just users.
And NOTHING about the T-Mobile GS2 will be interchangeable with the AT&T version. The T-Mobile variant doesn't even deserve a GS2 designation - other than having a sAMOLED screen it's closer in hardware architecture to most HTC devices than any Samsung.

uh...they're almost identical. the tmo version has a sexier backplate and a bigger screen. and snapdragon ftw.
but yeah, i just researched and found all of this out. which in turn answered my question. i originally thought they would be completely identical with the exception of operating frequencies. guess not.

Lol! Are you serious? Or joking? I can't read the e-sarcasm here.
If your not joking then let me explain further. The snapdragon is a completely different soc meaning that development will be completely different for it than the international or att sgs2. Essentially NOTHING is the same.... In the development world... Real world the only similarity is the manufacturer.... And it has an samoled screen... But even that's not the same. Lol

Galaxy S II Ebay Shopping Advice?

Hey there,
I am currently considering buying a Galaxy S II off eBay here in Australia and i was wondering what I should and shouldn't be looking for.
My main concern is that if I get Hong Kong/International stock then it may have differences (OS or Hardware) to the ones you can buy locally. Is there a way I could check to see where the handsets come from based on a model number or anything? and is anyone using an eBay bought SII to list the differences to local stock?
Thanks in advance,
DarkRyoushii
I bought mine off ebay ages ago, was listed as Australian stock...so if you are worried about overseas models just use the advanced search and choose only located in AU...then if it is not stated in the description just ask the seller if its aussie stock...though in most cases ones from overseas work just fine and I don't believe there are any differences (both local and overseas stock are international versions, besides the I9100T for telstra)
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
Thanks, there's a massive price difference between Australian ($700) and Unmentioned ($550) stock though so if possible I'd just love to make sure it won't turn up in some unheard of language with no way to change it, the wrong bands, restrictions (I know NTT Docomo limit text messages to 160 characters) on the OS or something like that.
so the I9100 stock is all the same with no variations? I thought there were different letters at the end to signify which region they were made for..
Thanks again,
DarkRyoushii
hmm well I got mine for $600...I'm pretty certain they are the international version...as long as it states I9100 and nothing else, it should be fine...also some sellers (eBay shops usually), provide 1 year warranties as well..
EDIT: there is an Australian stock on eBay now for 600 + 15 postage...if you're really that worried I'd recommend you just save yourself the worrying... I'm sure you could message the seller and negotiate for free shipping or something...

That's true Thanks for your help! +1 Thanks to you!
Your biggest concern with ebay is getting scammed, rather than getting a weirdo off-spec unit. As others say make sure it says I9100, and specs make sense (eg. 1.2 dual exynos, 4.3" screen, etc.) If you ended up with a qualcomm unit by accident (and wanted exynos...or vice versa) and your seller is legit they would have to accept return for product not as advertised.

[Q] Form Factor and Case issues for GS III International vs US

I'm planning on ordering a case for my phone so I have it when it arrives. I've ordered the 32GB version through Verizon and was wondering if there was any difference in between the international version I9300 vs the LTE version I535. The specs seem to line up when comparing the two, but I'm concerned that the buttons may line up in slightly different places.
The case I'm looking at is here:
noreve.com/langue/en/product/Samsung_GT-i9300_Galaxy_S_III_Tradition_leather_case.html
Although it's for the international version, do you think it'll work the the Verizon LTE version?
Thanks for your help!
I'm pretty sure there are not physical differences on the outside
