Just downloaded Instagram and think its really neat but im having issues with the Front Facing Camera.
when i take a front facing camera shot it takes the image fine then when it goes to editing the picture is upside down and cropped wrong
i dont care to much about to upside down thing because it gives you the option to rotate the image but not for the cropping
Any suggestions?

ROM?
Kernel?
Stock?
I am on MeanROM 3.4 and my preview works but the photo comes out upside down. You can just rotate it.
Can somebody with Stock ROM/KERNEL chime in?

My pal with stock said that the problem is on his too... Hope this helps

I have the same exact issue. I have to hold the preview image before I take the pic well above center in order to correct this. It also comes out upside down every time.

I think it might have happend after i used sd maid.Ive tried reflashing gallery app and wiping app data and still...
Im using Quickpick but still id like to get Gallery back.
Please help.....
"""EDIT: I SOLVED IT BY FIXING PERMISSIONS IN RECOVERY"""
Try removing the gallery thumbnails and then give the gallery app a while to regenerate.
The pics usually look low quality while it is still loading.
I don't know what thats up with those blue lines.
You could check the android log to see if the gallery app is throwing exceptions.
If you try another app - like quickpic - for example - does it still do it?

always happy to help.......
I found this professional camera app, which has so much options. You can manually set the exposure time, up to 60 seconds! Also ISO is adjustable.
Downside is that it doesn't support our physical camera key. I tested this app on ICS.

i used to use this app, can not change ISO -,-
It'll be great if we can change ISO on Neo/V. I believe high ISO setting is one downside of this camera.
the stock camera is the best camera, do you think so ?
Can you post some pictures taken by this camera with the vatious settings so we can see the quality and versatility of the camera?
Thanks

I wasn't able to spot any differences myself, only that when I changed the ISO settings and shutter time this app could picture shapes in a dark room, where the stock app just makes an all black picture. But if you want to try it yourself, you know how it works on Android...

OMG i started to think i am just plain stupid but now I see you can't change iso too, then this app sucks, nothing much without iso.
Neo V also, other then that its great app...

If you turn flash on in the stock app you can get a near perfect pic in the dark on the stock app. The flash on the Neo is seriously powerful.
really good app...thnx
I don't know how much this matters to others, but I've noticed on my phone that when I do the hand-swipe motion to capture a screen, it works fine but the quality is mediocre. Everything from the color density to the clarity just isn't as crisp/accurate as I would assume and hope it to be. Has anyone else noticed this? If so, has anyone found a way (even if it's an app) that this can be remedied?
I also just tried the ddms approach, it doesn't work for me; screen comes up a peach-ish color across the entire thing.

You're the first I've heard of this problem. All the screenshots should just be unmolested PNGs (without any h/w overlay effects baked in (like mDNIe)) no matter how you take 'em: homebutton+powerdown, handswipe, ddms, airdroid, ...
Post an image of your screenshot here so people can see what you're talking about?

It's just not as...crisp/clear/vivid as it is on my phone. Even the color itself is off. The 2nd one below it is of my old wallpaper, which is a better example of how it's more a faded version of what I see on the phone.

I really wish I could get the ddms method to work, but in the meantime the (minor as it may be) difference between the screen captures and originals bugs a little. It just seems like most of the screen shots I see others post (such as in the thread dedicated to it) look much more vivid.
I noticed this the first day I had my phone, but thought it was just a fluke or some new touchwiz feature akin to the "linens" that iOS 5,6 had. But my note 3, white now on full stock MJ4, never rooted or tampered with yet seems to have some banding and aberrations with displaying medium grays. I have attached a screenshot that you can download and try for yourself. I am positive this is a bug, and with my limited knowledge I feel it is a software issue more than a hardware one that will hopefully get fixed.
Steps to really see the problem:
Download my screen shot on to your Note 3 (or open chrome browser, remove all windows so it is the gray background with the product logo as attached, then screen shot it yourself)
Do the following in a dark environment to see it best. (please)
Open the screenshot in gallery.
Zoom into it and pan around.
Play with different brightness settings and see if the banding with grays is more evident.
Turn on screen rotation, rotate screen.
Zoom and pan on the same screenshot in landscape view to see that the banding is apparent still only on the Y-axis, proving it was not part of the image.
I attempted to capture this on video and even scan it in my scanner, but it wasn't obvious like it is to my eyes. I want to know, does this affect other people's note 3s? If so I won't care as it really isn't a problem. But if it's just my handset, then I want to get it swapped out instead of risking a bad screen or any other on board hardware. I am most worried because the problem is different day to day and the banding seems to be greater towards the bottom of the screen
If you did all this, thank you!

Same issue here as well as my girlfriends N3. If you mess around with the different display settings (dynamic, professional photo, etc) it increases it or decreases it. I've only noticed this with Chrome however. I will boot up my Evo 3D to see if it does it on there as well as my 2k12 N7.

I dont know weather its a hardware or software issue. Flashed a new ftf days back but the issue still remains. I have also tried using 3rd party camera apps, same issue.
Any help/ideas? Thanks in advance

Do you wear your z2 in some (thick armor-like) case by a chance? Looks to me like something is reflecting flash led light and directing it into camera sensor. If not, try to check if camera lens is properly aligned (if its centered within back panel camera hole). Anyway looks more like a hardware problem.

No i dont have a case, the back glass is broken. The camera is properly aligned, but i can say the about the flash. It is shifted a little to the left( Almost unnoticeable) in its hole. Can it be the cause?
Am thinking of trying the camera without the phone's back cover and see whether its the alignment causing the problem.
Thanks for the response, really appreciate it.
