Is the S pen the same for the SGH-i717 as the GT-N7000 one? Seems to be more plentiful.

I believe they are the same except the button color is different.
Wacom is wacom I believe... the Note stylus works fine on my Lenovo X61 tablet, and vice-versa. See no reason why there would be a difference between different versions of the Note.
I've heard that you can use any wacom pen with the Note, but any additional buttons that might be included on the pen will not work. I haven't personally tried, so I can't confirm for sure.

This is the truth. Extra buttons on other Wacom stylii won't work, but the actual stylus does
Although I appreciate the additional information, its offtopic.
As far as working I would assume the same. I guess I should have been more clear in my question.
Could I buy any other Note's S Pen (in particular, since they seem to be more abundant on ebay, the GT-N7000's) to replace a lost or missing one, for an SGH-I717. Would it fit perfectly into the intended slot?

Really hoping to have this setup on my sg2 when its released. Basicly you dock your phone to a monitor, KB, mouse, speakers, etc.. then you boot up Ubuntu on your phone. Only for dual core phones. Allows you to do all your computing as well as phone calls, SMS, mms, etc. Can use your 4g or wifi. Can't wait.
Here is the official site for all the info. http://www.ubuntu.com/devices/android

Yeah I saw this on phandroid looks pretty sweet

This looks really promising. Hopefully it turns out better than the system that was attempted for the atrix.

Well, hmm, how would the dock work now... Is it for phones that already have a docking capability like the Atrix that now will have an Ubuntu alternative, or; will Samsung and other manufacturers make these docks so that their users can dock and use Ubuntu, or; will Ubuntu make a somewhat universal dock using the microUSB for example, which then spreads out into mice/keyboard/display. Overall, I'm just trying to see whether or not we're going to be included.

initially at least it didn't seem like this is going to come for us, right now it looks like the work they've done with the Atrix is mostly just to change webtop application that it normally runs with and I think I saw that it was only for devices with micro USB and hdmi output
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using Tapatalk
Yeah, the HDMI thing lost my hope a bit, but I think our phones do have a way to output via HDMI, or at least, my point is, a dock could be made to support the GS2 if someone were to make it. But yeah, the line:
Easy to integrate with existing Android phones in development

Confuses me as it sounds like it can be easily integrable, but at the same time, I just really don't know. We'll see what happens, I guess...
The SGH-I777 does have an MHL port, just like the GT-I9100 and the Infuse - it just, for whatever reason, didn't come with an adapter in the box like the Infuse did.
So if we can output to a TV/Monitor via HDMI and MHL we could use the slick web top type application?
I wonder if this will be downloaded-able as an "App" or will need to be more built in to the framework/rom itself (seems more likely). Very exciting though, to have desktop capabilities on a phone would be awesome.
Plus the exynos running on our phone would be much smoother than the Tegra 2 running on the Atrix.
any news? when will be this ubuntu solution available?
Give that this is from Feb, think its safe to say no news. Lets try to avoid necro-bumping threads like this...
Just thought I'd share:
I was on location with a client, needed to markup a live document on my ThinkPad tablet and realized I forgot my stylus. Just for kicks, I pulled out my s-pen -- and it works perfectly -- even the 'right click' button.
I assume the reverse is true (lenovo stylus on the Note), but haven't tested yet.
Interesting, I'll have to try Lenovo>Note tonight.
The reverse is also true (just tried it).
I don't know if I'll actually use it much, but it's still cool to have the option of using a larger pen.
it should work with any waycom digitizer enabled device (both ways)
Cheers

For some reason my Wacom pen won't work with the note.

My s-pen works on my hp tablet, and my tablet pen works on my note. I'll probably never use it but its cool to know thanks!

The generation may have some effect on compatibility. I'm using a model from a few years back - x200 tablet.
I believe they use a similar digitizer that your typical Wacom-based Tablet PC uses.
So far the styluses from my ThinkPad X61T/X41T, HP TC1100, Fujitsu ST5112, Toshiba Tecra M7 all work on my Note and vice versa.
While the stylus from my Wacom Bamboo and Wacom Intuos4 do NOT work since they use a completely different digitizer.

If i recall the digitizers used in the Bamboo and similar are more like what what was used in the HTC Flyer (I had ome until the Backlight went out) The common waycom pens do not work on the Flyer and similar devices nor will their pens work with the Note.
cheers

thanks for the neat trick
Yeah I have the bamboo. So that's why?

Nah the HTC Flyer uses an N-Trig digitizer, completely different company.
I just tried it with my HP elitebook 2740p and it works great. it has a faux eraser on the end of it so I tried it out, guess what, it works as an eraser on the note.

Looks very interesting, no mattet what anyone here says, would recommend email or call to them. This way if issue have valid return reason, email best for tracking. If someone confirms to work, does not mean all features tested. Looking more at this when have more time, thank you for the post.

the n-trig pen is a technology vendors can implement, and only htc flyer and lenovo thinktablet got n-trig support. as the display require to support active pen-displays.
you will need to wait for the nextgen HTC Quattro which were planned to have the n-trig support at well but as 10.1" tablet with tegra3. its not out and might be dropped as well.
but the technology is only on a few tablets for now.
Samsung uses a different pen technology, so its not used with samsung products at all.
Any cases with Incorporated keyboards with touch pads specifically for the S4, or that will fit the S4?
I haven't seen any specifically for the S4, but I saw some universal ones.
If you had the tab S2 Samsung keyboard it works, of course you can't use the case though.
I have an IVSO keyboard case but using my Tab S2 keyboard.
I order this one from amazon, and waiting for it, but it seems to be a good one!

did you test surface keyboard? did it work? good sensitivtiy of the touchpad?
Did you manage to find any decent ones? I have a Tab S4 arriving today and would really like to get a keyboard case for it, but I don't want one without a touchpad.
Also, all the third party keyboards I have seen are bluetooth - are there none available that connect through pins like the official keyboard case??
I'm looking for a surface-like keyboard + trackpad too!!

you could used a bluetooth mouse , im using a hp z5000 , is cheap and has a good build quality , and also a has the benefit of a larger keyboard layout with a logitech k380..the whole thing is confy and still way compact than a laptop

Were you able to attach Samsung tablet 10.5" S 4 through the wedge provided by Tomsenn Magnetic stripe?
Thanks

Does anyone have or tried a brydge keyboard? They have various sizes and I don't see why 1 wouldn't work w the Tab S4 since they're all bluetooth but really would want one of them w a trackpad.

Based on the spec comparison of the Galaxy Tab S4 vs Ipad Air (2019) https://www.phonearena.com/phones/size/Samsung-Galaxy-Tab-S4,Apple-iPad-Air-2019/phones/10814,11156
It looks like the brydge keyboard for that ipad will fit. Not sure about the hinges being too tight or interfering with the screen though. If brydge had a touchpad I would consider it but if it's just a keyboard then meh.
Still, if anyone does give it a try, please let us know, thanks.
They do have a touchpad version, that's why I was wondering! Hopefully someone will share if it's worked.

I have the new Brydge 10.5 for Surface Go2. It pairs with bluetooth but the trackpads does not work. Keyboard works but the most important trackpads does not.
