[Q] How do i re-lock bootloader? - HTC Rezound

( i admit i am a noob at this stuff) I bought this rezound from a guy, and i came home and downloaded the Rezound All-In-One kit, i installed the htc drivers registered at htcdev. I tried to get token ID.. didnt work, and i tried to do the ICS leak and followed the instructions exactly... didnt work.. well i looked at my phone while in bootloader and it said unlocked, i tried running the All-in-one kit "Relock Bootloader" command and it still doesnt work. in command prompt it says ( Rezound_All-In-One_Kit_v2.0\data>fastboot oem lock
< waiting for device >
and thats it.. doesnt do anything else.. can someone please help me re-lock this phone.

Is the phone currently in fastboot in your bootloader when you did this command?

Do you mean, reboot to bootloader while its connected to PC and run the re-lock command?

When your phone is connected does it say fastboot usb with the red highlight?

when the phone is on as normal? or when you boot it up in the loader? sorry.. im such a noob at this crap >_<

No I mean when in the hboot menu where you see the locked or unlocked at the top. If it just says fastboot in red highlight then press the power button and it should say fastboot USB. Then try to lock it.

How do i bring up hboot while its connected? when i remove battery and hold volume down + power nothing happens.

Disconnect the phone. Then pull your battery out. Then replace your battery. Then boot up holding power + volume down. Then when you are in the hboot screen connect the USB cable.

Pull battery, replace it, hold power and vol down, when it boots into the bootloader connect it to the pc.

Ok, yes it shows FASTBOOT USB in red. Now what do i do?

Thats when you want to type the command "fastboot oem lock" minus the quotes and it should go thru this time.

Now try to lock it with whatever your using

He's not doing it manually. He's using somebody's program.

Thanks i got it re-locked!!!!

Nice!!

Essentially the two lines you'll ever need are:
fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
fastboot oem lock

I looked at the .bat related to re-locking in the A-I-O toolkit and it doesn't invoke "adb reboot bootloader" command before attempting "fasboot oem lock". So essentially assuming the OP was attempting to run the command from a fully booted state, it was just sitting there waiting for the phone to be in HBOOT/FASTBOOT USB state.

I attempted to re-lock my bootloader in order to update my firmware. However once I relock it, I can not reboot the phone it keeps returning to bootloader. Any ideas?

[Q] Atrix, Fastboot, and Ubuntu 10.10

I was trying to unlock the bootloader in my Atrix but I can't seem to get the fastboot to work.
I'm running Ubuntu 10.10. The adb works perfectly and when I run the fastboot command it gives me the list of syntax for it but when I try "./fastboot devices" it doesn't return anything. If I use sudo then it goes down to a new line and freezes. I'm assuming I need to edit something in rules.d but I don’t know how to get the proper information.
Any help would be great.

is your phone in fastboot mode? adb reboot fastboot
If it freezes at devices it can't see you phone. Make sure your phone says it started fastboot. Hold volume down while booting. When it says fastboot on the phone press volume up.

Well I tried running the unlock in fastboot mode last night.
./fastboot oem unlock
Waiting for devices.
That was as far as I got. My phone was in fastboot mode but it just wouldn't recognize it. I saw some other posts about it saying things about adding to rules.d but I need the right information for my phone.

Unlocking bootloader( 45.3.6)

Yes i was wondering if theres a way to unlock and root the Photon with 45.3.6 for the software i tried using the Pudding methond but it doesnt do anything when i type in moto-fastboot oem unlock. This method work for a photon with 45.2.5. Im trying to help a friend out and unlock and root his phone. Is there a way to do this or no
If you ever unlocked you phone before, flash derpunlock via RSD.
is the phone recognized when you type moto-fastboot device? If not the phone is not in fastboot mode. Shut down and then press and hold there power button and the Vol up key.
I forgot to do that once.
Yes it was in fastboot. I did the first step using rsd. Then i used the cmd thing and when i typed in moto-fastboot oem unlock it did nothing but say waiting on device and did nothing

Bootloader RELOCKED

I was having issues doing the RUU, and was told to relock the bootloader. I ran fastboot oem lock and the bootloader is now locked, but now the phone will not boot up, it keeps going to bootloader. How do I get it to boot up so I can run the RUU?

If I remember correctly, the RUU runs from the Bootloader menu. When in Bootloader connect the USB to the PC, you should then see "Fastboot USB". If Fastboot doesn't change to "USB" it likely means you don't have your PC setup correctly.

DNA not visible in fastboot.

Hey guys, need a little help. I've been trying to unlock a friends DNA using jcases method and I'm having some issues. I've made it through his process, but when I go to get the token, for HTC, I can't see the phone in adb, while its in fastboot mode. I can see it, using adb devices, when the phone is booted normally, just not in fastboot. Any ideas?

in my experience, when im in bootloader > fastboot, and as long as i see the 'fastboot' header change to 'fastboot usb' ; i can run fastboot.exe commands.

Ok, ill give it a shot. Earlier I tried and it just said "waiting on device", but I didn't notice if it had changed to fastboot usb.

If you are running windows, install HTC Sync and then uninstall it. That should install the fastboot drivers for you.
Have you tried opening command prompt as Administrator?
When I run fastboot in Ubuntu I have to run as superuser otherwise I just get the "waiting for device" message.
thread moved to q&a due to it not being development and it actually being a question
Make sure you're not using a USB3.0 port. That was my problem. As soon as I plugged into a USB2.0 port instead, it worked perfectly.

[Q] Android 1.0 driver? DNA will not cummincate in bootloader

So i've been trying to get back to my stock settings on my DNA and i've hit a myriad of problems. Right now, I can get my phone to communicate when it's just plugged in. But whenever i boot into bootloader and plug it in, it tries to install the "Android 1.0 driver" but to no avail. The phone will then not be recognized by the computer and I can't do the "fastboot oem lock" command. Is there a download or something that i can grab that will solve this?

Do you have the latest SDK version installed, sounds a bit like the drivers are outdated. Might be worth downloading the latest version and installing it...
Try the drivers in this zip file and see if this helps.. these are drivers I am using and have never had an issue

Are you in bootloader mode when you try this? You have to put phone in bootloader mode either thru adb command or manually. If communication is occuring, you will see fastboot usb in a red box, Then if your adb is working correctly it should go.
we need more info.. first did you uninstall the old drivers first.. then after installing the zip did you confirm that the drivers are the ones that were installed.. and also like someone mentioned is your phone in bootloader/fastboot mode and showing fastboot usb in red on the screen

Also make sure it's not a USB 3.0 spot, you need to use a 2.0. Windows 8 or 7? 8 has been causing issues connecting in fastboot for some.

I ran as root in Ubuntu to get it to re-lock.
Sounds like drivers to me. After you boot into the bootloader are you going into device manager selecting the android whatever and changing the driver to bootloader. Sorry not at a pc so don't know exactly what it says but that sounds like the case.

One thing that worked for me was installing pdanet, for some reason it installed the correct drivers for HTC. Once I did that it saw my phone in adb, and I could get the device waiting prompt to go away and it would show my model and serial number...hope it helps. Just Google pdanet...and install it.
