Just bought, rooted and flashed the aokp rom. I went under sound and enable vibrate on touch, but when i pressed the 3 menu buttons it wont vibrate at all like in the store. Only when i select widget does it vibrate, any idea on how to enable haptic feedback?
Haptic feedback on the Prime can be pretty weak for most actions, so it might simply be that it's turned on (you've selected the right setting) but not noticeable. I've noticed myself that I can most feel feedback when manipulating home screen items and certain other tasks (like selecting photos in the Gallery app).
Most of the time, I can't feel the feedback when doing things like hitting the buttons. It's also quite inconsistent.
Whats weird though is that i tried it at bestbuy and when i press the home button i can actually feel it vibrate, but nothing is happening right now so maybe its because of the rom?

I was wondering if theres a patch of some sort that would remove the longer vibration when holding down the capacitive buttons (home, menu, back) keys. its kind of annoying that when i hold home to multitask it goes zzz. ZZZZZZ. instead of just one vibration.
im on steve's 1.6 and when i hold home to go to recent apps, it only vibrates once, so not sure about you or what rom you are running
I'm on stock 2.2 318

mine does it one time as well, 1.6.1 dj steve's, try disabling the haptic feedback under spare parts
If you go to Settings, Sounds and disable Haptic feedback, only does the "ZZZZ" without the first zz, zz.
Still, would be nice if it just did short vibration (zz) instead of long ZZZZ.
Thx. Fixed
Ok, I now have it completely silence. Just lift your finger just before the buzz! So not even a second.

Hey everyone, please help me with this. All of a sudden, when I press the back or menu button on my SGS 3, I don't feel the phone vibrate slightly. The menu button & back button work fine, but it doesn't respond with a slight vibration like it used to. I've gone into settings and made sure to turn on haptic feedback, although I'm not sure if this is the option or not. Can anyone help or should I take this phone back to the store?
nevermind...figured it out
Despite having no lock screen set, I cannot get the volume button long press to work to load the applications. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? The option is enabled, and I've only disabled applications that deal with the voice recognition stuff from LG.
Edit: Go figure... After half an hour of research and trying different things it only works after I posted this question. I have no idea what I did differently.

I assume your talking about the screen off press and hold to launch camera or quick note trick? I've noticed a couple Times it hasn't worked right for me, but it usually does.
Make sure your screen is off, and press vol down and hold for a good couple seconds and it should launch the shortcut. Also make sure the proximity sensor isn't covered. Mine didn't work at all when it was covered, which is the same for the double tap to wake.
Btw, do you know how to change what the button launches? I like the camera but don't care for quick note, and didn't see a way to change it.

I have found they will not launch for me if I am in a Chromecast session, or playing some music with the screen off through the phone's speaker. I am assuming that was my problem since I can't replicate it under any other circumstances.
There is an option in the phone's menu system to turn it on or off, but it does not allow for the shortcut to be changed. We'll have to wait for custom ROMs to give us this feature.

Yeah that does make sense. And I didn't think they were changeable but it's good to know this is confirmed.
Anyone else notice this? It's somewhat annoying when I'm on the phone and just want to glance at the date, time, see if I got an email, etc and its just dark. The home button is still there hiding, so I just wake it up that way or hit the power button, but I'm positive this never happened on the S8+ I had.
