I have an Xperia Ray and the two games I mentioned above lag and drop frames to the point of making the games unplayable. Is there something wrong with my device? Is this normal? Does it work well on the Minis or other SE devices with similar specs?
It's really annoying, especially in Wind Up Knight as it makes the game unplayable.
I'm on stock Gingerbread, and I overclocked to 1.4, but the games are still laggy as ****.
You need to have enough free RAM also.
I usually go to Android Applications-Running Services and just close some unneeded ones to free up RAM for the game.
I agree with the above post. I've played Wind Up Knight on stock .62, TEAM Rom Beta4, and TEAM Rom v1.
Might check and turn off some persistently running apps. I only played it after root, removing unwanted apps, and having all my apps set the way I want. I only have a few persistent apps and they don't do much anyhow, everything else is set to only do something when I tell it to and I haven't had a problem running the game.
Hmm, actually with Wind Up Knight, I had to update the game. After the update it runs a lot smoother. At least it's playable.
What about those Gameloft HD games? I tried Let's Golf and Asphalt 6, and they both run at <30 FPS, more like 15-20FPS at best. I'm on stock rom and I removed everything I don't use (including every Facebook related app since I don't use it), closed unneded services, and closed every other app before starting the games.
Maybe those games are too much for our puny Adreno 205s. Hopefully they were both free (Asphalt is free through Getjar).
wind up knight doesnt lag on my sk17i .58 stock rom
Last time I tried Asphalt 6, was it incompatible with my LWW.
That was according to Android Market...
EDIT: Android Market says compatible, game itself says incompatible.

If you change in build.prop every thing where is WT19i to ST15i is will say that is compatible.

After playing some games like Let's Golf 3, Dungeon Hunter 2, Riptide GP,
Shadowgun, PES 2012 and TinTin the Game shut's himself off.
And it's closing with no message at all.
Just playing and then Boom, black screen and then it's going to home screen.
Anyone else have or had this problem?
I think you have a version of the game that is not for your phone !
If you have download the games from a website for free so thats it but if you bought them i don't know what is the problem

You mean TinTin quits to a black screen all of a sudden, or do all of them? Also, does your phone get hot to the touch?
I can't imagine you having bought all those games, but that's not what we're here for. Although it could be a good reason of games not working correctly because the APK you downloaded was not supposed for the SGS2.
The gameloft games are sgII versions the other ones are non tegra. But I think that
its related to many in and unstalled kernel tryings because when I firstly installed
checkrom fresh with speedmodkernel 13 everything was ok but later on I OC and Uv
and tried mAny kernels and sinds then it was happening.
Maybe someone had it to... but its ok i still can play those games and it saving auto.
When i finish these games then i do a fresh install again.

Hi, i have a problem with my neo v. I tried to switch between rooms, different kernels and problem is still there. It appears when i play games like modern combat 3, nova 3, or max payne . for example max payne - is working properly on other's neov's, i've installed it and playd for a moment with no problem, after playing about 5-10 mins it made a reboot, now i can randomly open the game then it'll just close the app, or open the game and pick new game an there it's same issue, i've had similiar problem with other games [dead space, mass effect], their running great but randomlt their closing. i tried to make more ram, cleared the sd from some garbage, i have no oc, my current rom is codename 7, the issue is the same on ICS. Maybe someone could help me ?

It ran smooth on my phone (p-765 v10d non-roooted). Played couple of games online too, lag free. Go to app settings and try to find out which process is taking more ram. Make sure unnecessary apps don b running in background. If u wan more free ram u better get rooted, after rooting i have nearly 450mb ram free. This device can handle most hd games i have tried most, u can see videos on youtube too!! SO WHY DON U TRY RE-INSTALLING THE GAME?

Trial version. But i have seen on other posts that this game should run fine.

alright now i have factory reset it and installed trial extreme 3 still lags in game when showing all map and in gameplay sudden lag while driver is moving if anyone facing this problem in this game pls tell
When this device can run high end games like modern combat 4, nfs mw smoothly, its highly unbelievable to see that u are getting lags, try to free ram then try running the games. If the problem still persists then its better u get it checked by LG care. 1gb ram, powervr sgx540, i read these specs are better than s2
ok now i have checked some other games but still games lag. before i was having galaxy R(tegra 2) device in that some games are not supported but still what i play it play so smoothly but now in l9 it seems like games are supported but not playable. do i have to root it to get some more free ram ? will it help me to play games more smoother ?

When I got my sola, I was excited about gaming, so I downloaded some cracked apks (just to try the games i want to buy). The first, was my favourita android racing game, Asphalt 7. It lagged like hell. It was unplayable. I asked the dear XDA Sola/U users, about their asphalt 7 experiences. Everyone said that it runss smoothly for them, so I decided to buy Asphalt 7 in Play Store. It downloaded the data, the game started, first track: Hawaii, minor lags, was still playable though, but then, when I tried london, It was just f*in unplayable laggy. The game ran smoothly for 2 sconds, but after that, 1 second freezing teleporting uber lagging, just couldn't control it. I'm just f*ckin pissed off, because when I used asphalt 7 on my ray, which theoritically has a weaker gpu (Quallcomm Adreno 205) than sola (ARM Mali 400), It runned buttery smoothly. Gamers, please tell me which rom/kernel do you use to play Asphalt 7 smoothly, and if you can please send me your deviceconfig.xml, and deviceprofile.xml files if you desire, any help appreciated! I'm at Stock GB + cile381 kernel ATM.

wipe phone.
Install TB and recover Asphalt. If your problem isnt fixed you can flash Play Rom
and recover Asphalt.
I had Play Ron and i could play these games without lags: Nova3, MC4, NFS MW, Gta 3 and my favorite My Little Pony

Hi, im on official EU Jelly Bean. Strong majority of games is running fine, no lags or graphic glitches .
But im quite upset about asphalt 8: at lowest details the game is still laggy, frame rate is low, unstable, and graphic is embarrassing.
Could someone confirm isn't my razr only?

mine is on liquidsmooth 2.9
it runs just fine.
mate, sincerely I have a XT910 Razr Maxx and the game runs really well, even on details on Low (remember it has Very Low details)...no graphics glitches, few lags, but very few...
Try to clean your smartphone, and do this thing: Unmark the developer options on settings, turn it completely off and try the game again...I'm using JB 4.1.2

check your free memory (RAM)..
use link2sd/titanium backup to freeze some app.
And you can install app greenify for hibernate app.
clean app without no much background app is very good and working fine and running smooth..
for setting graphic medium and high you can edit build.prop (SGS 4 or higher devices than razr)
I'm running 4.1.2 JB stock eu
i have artmod 4.3 with [MOD ROM] [DeBlur - DeBloat] agressive applied.
this allows me to have between 400 to 490 of free ram to play Asphalt 8 without lag even i have installed whatsapp, viber, facebook, facebook messenger, and i can play this game without any lag...
I had the lag issue with Asphalt 7. and what I did was I cleared up more space in the device(as the game requires more than the 1.5GB download as it expands later) and it was smooth after that.
Asphalt 8 runs smooth, with Instagram, Foursquare, Viber, Facebook and Whatsapp running behind along with the 100mb using Nemus Launcher... :|

for optimal funcionality shut down any connection to the internet, 3g and wifi.
