Found a sweeeet app! - Motorola Droid X2

Check out "Motomizer" in google play. Trust me on this one.
P.S. I don't know how it's doing it but it's allowing me to overclock and settings remain even after reboot. That's just one of the many goodies.
DX2 running CM7.

Did you just use the one click set up or did you manually set it up?

I did the one click but seriously look through the whole menu, There are some really cool settings!

Ya I did the one click also and have been looking through the menu. However I do not know enough about the settings to know what to change but it is impressive what you can do with the app.

I found the most cool features to be the screen density and the overclocking
Sent from my CM7 DX2

Where is the overclock and what did you set them both to? This is my first android and its been locked down so not sure what the overclocking does.

set CPU policy, it speeds up your phone basically. Change the minimum.

Thanks, i will check it out and report back.

Not really overclocking though....we can't due to the bootloader...changing the minimum clock speed just will not let your processor idle at 216, which is the stock minimum I believe, when the min is changed that would be your minimum idle speed....so whatch for higher battery drains when set higher

Thanks for the tip on this app, I've been running it for 4 hours and my X2 is blazin!

ehhhh.... I'm skeptical (guess that's my specialty on these forums ), but I'll try it for myself.
If we have a kernel locked down tight, I don't know why this app would allow us to get around that, but I'll have to see.

Free or paid? What does it set and does that interfere with CM7's built in optimizations? What happens when you remove the one click, does it remove anything that was in CM7 or there before, that it overwrote? Anyone test to see if this effects Bluetooth? I too am skeptical. Someone with more knowledge pull some logcats and see what this does.

There is a donate version with extra features as well as a free version. I am fairly new to this app, I'm not sure it would play nice with CM7s performance settings

Three tests, 1901, 1921, 1916. Completely stock 2.3.6 Milestone X2 with all bloatware. No mods, only rooted with tweaks applied from within Motomizer. Will run de-blur script in a little while and test again

+1. You really got my hopes up reading that...
I realized overclocking would be a massive achievement for the X2... But is it even really necessary at this time? We are running 1ghz, dual core, tegra2 chips.
What app or game out there right now we cant already run smooth as butter?
Why is it wanted so bad right now is what I'm asking i guess. When i over clocked my d1 to 1.1ghz It didn't seem like a nearly 50% increase in performance even though i nearly doubled the clock speeds. Sure my quadrant went up but real world applications meh.

Ya, I Can't Wait To Watch My Phone Meltdown!
Even if we ever get overclocking most people probably wont do it, we just want to have the ability too, if anything i just want a tweak a few things
The biggest problem is that we need a kernel that supports overclocking. With a STILL locked bootloader, we can't do that yet. So no unleashing the beast just yet.

Overclocked using the Beta Feed

Hi
I tried to OC'ed my Touchpad 32Gb using the Beta Feed to 1.7Ghz, but it seems laggy sometimes. Is it because of the feed? Should I remove it and use only the stable feed?
Thanks
I'm using kernel Warthog and F4 (both are beta feeds) and they are very stable for me. Did you install all the patchs from Preware?
Hey I wanna know Which kernel is best for battery? I use Ctrlondemand in Preware. And I run it 1.5. What do you think? Best battery and performance kernel? What is it? Thanks for answer
Best battery would be to under clock the processor lol as for speed, uninstall your kernel and download f4, I had another one that would only use one core of the processor, phantom uses both.

That is an indication that you didn't disable your previous Govnah profile before switching kernels, or that you are using an alpha kernel for which Govnah has not yet been updated to support (that's one reason why you shouldn't use alpha kernels unless you know what you are doing and can control it from the command line).
Every webOS TouchPad custom kernel has always overclocked both cores.
You don't want the second core running unless it is required. You don't keep your engine idling at 7000RPM when you're sitting at the traffic lights.
-- Rod
Maybe it was alpha, I got it before preware switched. anyway, the one i'm currently using seems to be stable, thanks for the info i'm trying to learn as much as I can in my spare time but I am still a noob

What tweaks are you using?

I was just wondering what different tweaks people use that work. The only thing I been using is jokers 1.3 kernal on cm7 and just tried 3g/4g optimizer for 3g boost. I am new here so off I'm curious as to what you guys use for tweaking things like 3g etc....
Sent from my CM7ed MoPho
Hello and welcome! 3g tweaks are one of those grey areas in which people seem to have varying results. None have ever done much for me.. However, zeroing out any proxies within your build.prop usually seems to get me slightly faster and more reliable 3g speeds. CM7 is pretty optimized from the get-go, but i urge you to make good use of that kernel. By that i mean, sit down and really set up profiles, underclock by no more than 50 if you want to be sure you get no random reboots, run the powersave governor instead of performance (with deadline), dont bother overclocking unless youre really obsessed with benchmarking scores as jokers mods to the kernel improve performance at stock frequencies and visible performance gains are minimal with overclock. If everything is set up correctly, don't bother using a battery saver app as profiles can generally do the same thing. Dont use task killer apps, they hurt battery performance and do more harm than good. Might wanna check out startup manager to dictate which apps start upon boot if you have a ton of apps. Check out an app called ad away to get rid of those pesky ads. Rom Toolbox Lite app is good for many many little tweaks as well. Thats all i can really think of right this second. Other than these i like to keep it generally clean.
What is the most accurate speed test app? I been using speedtest.net mobile.
Sent from my CM7ed MoPho
There isn't. All of them are slightly inaccurate. Best way to judge your speed is to actually download something.

You'll find your phone actually runs smoother without the task killer. They were useful in the days when phones had limited amounts of ram. With today's phones its redundant given that android has its own 'task killer' built in.

Bah, I stay far away from these "so-called" build.prop tweaks. They do nothing but people keep thinking they work...I guess because they just see commands and numbers and think they must work. All they do is simply lag the phone in some way or another and destroy battery life. After all, placebo is popular in the android world.

Well just hold on there, I can vouche for the enhance image quality tweak.
I still have yet to verify is this actually does anything worthwhile. I just did a clean flash of Neo's AOKP 1.5 and ran quadrant a few times, then Pimped it out and then re-ran Quadrant. The score was higher.... but that was because GPU rendering apparently wasn't enabled the first time Otherwise the scores were just about the same. It sucks that there's no effective/absolute way to test these sorts of thing out.

Are you on a custom Rom or kernel? I'm still on stock but rooted and am not doing anything special (i.e. not killing any apps before running the benchmark). My score is typically between 19,500 - 20,500. 18,700 is fine though, maybe you have an app that is running on the background slowing things down a bit.
