Anybody know if this is ever gonna come out on android? You'd figure a big name game like this wouldn't be just for friggin' apple wtf!!
This looks like a kick ass game. Would love to be able to play it on my gs2. It pisses me off that apple seems to get all the good games first and if this is exclusively for apple then thats just a big giant ball of moose ****!!

Red5 may know lol

Yeah but those 2 games aren't a gigantic franchise like this game. I mean this is a new dark knight game thats gotta be a huge seller especially since its selling for 2.99.
Also now I hear they have a new simpsons game out for iphone too. My whole point is something as wildly popular as the simpsons or batman should be available to android users too. Thats all. I've never even heard of temple run till a couple of days ago and now I'm gonna go google instagram. lol

Tbh, the iphone will always have the best gaming experience of any mobile OS. It has the best graphics, the best selection, and the best prices. It gets all games before any other OS too.

Yea exactly cause we just got it for Android, and iPhone has had millions of downloads for those 2 apps. In one day Instagram had 1,000,000+ downloads on Android.
So I assume you don't social yourself with many iPhone users.
Whether you want to believe it or not, just cause its a big franchise won't mean its going to be a big hit...Stupid little games can sometimes blow up more.
Though I wish we had many of the iOS games its something I know when I entered Android its not going to happen.

Yep think of it as this...
Apple = Xbox
Android = PS3
We got better hardware but our games aren't quite as good, and the ones that are take forever to head our way.

Your analogy is flawed.
Apple = Consoles (whichever you're a fanboy for)
Android = PC.
Think about it: Apple iPhones have just a couple different sets of hardware, while Android runs the gamut from phones that don't even support OpenGL ES 1.1 to Tegra3. It's like on PC where a developer has to support quad Radeon 7950s AND nVidia Geforce 8800GTXs, while console devs are able to only target one set of hardware on each respective console.

[Q] Will Android ever seen games like Infinity Blade?

I couldn't help but realize that Android could never get something as detailed as Infinity Blade, but is there hope? And what handset could handle such graphics?
Here is the trailer/article of Infinity Blade:
http://www.redmondpie.com/epic-game...for-iphone-4-is-mind-blowingly-awesome-video/
Well the Samsung Galaxy S has a more powerful GPU than the iPhone 4 (SGX540 vs iPhone's SGX535). So theoretically better games can be made for Android.
But with Android being so widespread the high end games won't run on all Android phones. For example, my old HTC Hero doens't have OpenGL 2.0 support and sucks at all types of gaming.

The main problem isnt the hardware, android has the hardware to support most iOS games (excluding the first few models) but we're lacking the developer support. One day they might realise and then start android development, and then we'd have the definitively winning devices
Well both ID with their RAGE mobile engine have said they are using it for android development and EPIC has shown their unreal engine running on android...both on tablet and phone...its a matter of time now
the short answer... no at the moment.
Despite the fact I loathe apple, one thing I have to give to them is that their graphic engine for 3d games is much more superior than any android on the market.
Just compare playing Hero of Sparta on a SGS(which I own) as opposed to the Ipod touch. You can really feel the lag on the android.
However considering the fact that Sony annouced the PSP android phone, which is scheduled for next year, I am sure it is a issue that would be addressed by next year,
Apple has all good games, android do but not that much. I hope next year more developers will be porting games to android. I really would like to have a tap tap revenge on my vibrant.
I also think its quite difficult to develop games on the android due to the large range of resolutions and styles of each android phone. its a lot easier to develop a game if its based on a single type of phone with a single resolution - like the iphone is.
You guys are right. Perhaps is a matter of time, once they some how manage the fragmentation, like creating a gaming classification for handset manufacturers to encourage developers to make apps to that set class.
Hmmmm,
They should require a "minimum specification" phone for more advanced games (i.e >=1Ghz, >=Adreno 205/SGX535, <=512Mb ram, < 800*600 pixels screen, etc).
No one would expect a game like Crysis, etc to run on an Atom CPU? Why should it be any different on mobile phones?

iphone DO NOT HAVE Standard resolution any more
Iphone 4: Retina Display 640X960
Iphone 1/2/3: HVGA 320X480
and almost all android games can now run on QVGA/HVGA/WVGA without problems
it's just a developer thing...

This is exactly 2x size of iP3. Also the screen in iP4 from the API is handled the same as iP3 (so the resolution is treated as 320x480) but on iP4 we can have half-pixels, thus we can display a small dot in the position 100.5 that has size of 0.5 pixel. So this is exactly the same screen from developer's point of view.
The problem is money. If there was infinity blade for android people will file-share instantly. Iphone there are jailbreakers , but most of iphone population doesnt mind paying for the game.

That's a really bad blanket statement. I think you missed the recent article that said the developer of Pocket Legends made more money on Android than iOS.

Um... you never heard of Installous??? It's the one and only best iPhone black market app that provides the most convenient way of downloading pirated apps, where as for Android you need to rely on warez sites, then transferring them onto your device and then browse for it to install.
So technically the ratio of piracy on iOS is much much greater than Android. I haven't met a single person where I live that doesn't have Installous.

I have a few friends with iPhones that pirate apps, and none of my friends with androids do. Also when it comes down to it iOS or Android, the majority of users aren't pirating apps.
You need to Jailbreak to use installous. You don't need root to install warez. Might affect your ratios...
Before i Jailbroke all my friends iDevices and showed them installous I didn't know anyone apart from myself that used installous. Cant really judge this just by the ppl around you.
All I can be sure of is what i know, and i know my inexperienced mind was much happier to install warez on my unrooted hero than it was to jailbreak my iPod touch.
It's really not safe to pirate apps on android. I remember one guy here reported that his phone got a virus because of installing pirated apps. That's why I don't think about pirating apps, and all the apps I need are free. :-D

Its most definetly possible, infinity blade only looks good because they use normal mapping and other tricks to give a "hi-res" model look, the problem was there wasnt really any android game engines that easily support those features, and its only supported on open gls 2.0.
Unity3d for android has come out afew months ago for the public and it supports all the fancey extras to get that graphically edge, same with unreal 3 engine, dungeon defenders was done in that and it looks pretty damn good, but i dont know when the android version of U3 will be released.
Im currently developing a game in unity3d and im blown away with current tests to how powerful these devices actually are.
edit:
Keep in mind infinity blade is a pretty crap game, swipe swipe swipe, repeat,

Did you read the whole articule before saying thats a bad statement. The articule tells you its an exception rather than the rule.
Look its very simple to understand. Developers will go where they will make the most money. Sure iphone has jailbreakers which I stated in my 1st post. But Android has easy file-sharing access. No developer will bust his a$$ just to make $100 off a game that takes him 6 months to make.
File-sharing is easy on android just like windows mobile 6,6.1, and 6.5 . Unless developers can make money the way they do in the iphone market , they will not make the games for Android. This is not opinion but plain real life facts.

Future of Tablet Gaming

So, I bit the bullet and bought a Prime, I had talked myself out of it about 9 million times, was going to buy a used one from chin-a-ling (sorry mate) but my fiancee pushed me, and pushed me and I finally bought one... I am in love.
But the title says it all, I am wondering what the future is going to be. My hope is to end up being able to play Portal on this thing one day. With the fact that Bethesda has mentioned possible tablet ports of older titles, Valve has always been one to examine all unique possibilities. It would be incredible to be Chell running through the hall way, aiming and then tapping where I want the portal
Anyways, what does everyone else think? Looking forward to seeing what the major companies might do? Games you hope to see ported or even developed as a standalone counterpart from your favorite series?

I think tablet gaming especially on iOS has a bright future. Some of iOS's best exclusives have trickled their way to Android. But there is still a lot to be desired on the Android platform as far as games go. Currently EPIC is making fantastic games for iOS through ChAIR Entertainment. Hopefully they will one day embrace Android.
Well ios has infinity blade and usually gets games a bit earlier. That's about it IMHO.
Android has amazing emulators and most importantly full gamepad support.
There are also some really nice looking tegra3 exclusives coming. Definately infinity blade lvl of graphics.
I'd say the future is bright. Me personally I'm hoping for point and click adventures getting big on tablets. They perfect for touch control.
Gaming on tablets and Prime will be SICK! Just watch. Already amazed at the types of games I'm playing already. And I don't play b.s. ones like angry birds or whatever. Lol hardcore gamer here.
I used to be a hardcore gamer before I joined the Navy but after I got out I haven't had time with school, but I am a huge Portal/Half Life Fan, as well as a few of the other artsy FPS games e.g. Mirrors Edge. I KNOW the Tegra 3 can handle it, it is a matter of whether or not the big guys will believe in the future of tablet/mobile gaming. It is a growing segment of serious gamers, and I think that tablet ownership would increase as games become more innovative/complex.

And it works like a charm. It never ceases to amaze me that the first time I played day of the tentacle I had to clear my 40MB(!) hdd before I could install it, was supplied om an enormous amount of floppy disks, took ages to install and now I can play it on a apparatus small enough to fit in my pocket (in case of my galaxy nexus)...
They need to bring the Broken sword series to Android. I have both games on Ipad n loved them. Like a touch point n click. Graphics n storyline is very good.

Could the transformer prime handle a full fleged DS emulator?

There have been a few experiments with DS emulators in the past - but the verdict usually ended up with terrible framerates.
Now that we have a quadcore device that has a sizeable increase in performance over other devices - the question of true performance stands...
"...but can it play pokemon?"
This would be one of the easiest things to do. But its a matter of if anyone wants it. I had DS emulator for Ipad. It was OK. There are no great games really only it. Pokemon is for little kids..lol. by the way though, I think Digimon characters would destroy Pokemon ones..lmfao its really a matter of if someone wants to use their time tl make one. With all the other great emulators out there, no real demand for DS emulator. You the first I ever heard ask for one.
What I want to see is a Turbo Gratix 16 or PC engine emulator or a 3DO one.

Disagree, there's literally tons of great games on DS, it's been the best hand-held gaming platform I had so far, there's a huge variety of games, not only pokemon
Take a look at Advance Wars 1 and 2, The World Ends With You (this game is a Masterpiece), Dragon Quest IX, Final Fantasy Tactics 2, Scribblenauts, All the Castlevania-RPGs etc ... I'll stop here, but there's a lot more! All of these are no Casual games too!
Anyway concerning the emulator, I think Nintendo sold so many DS that people just play on DS instead of emulators for tablets, but it's just my opinion
I find it funny to hear someone say Pokemon is for kids, and then reference Digimon.
There are tons of great games on the DS system, especially JRPGs.

Lmfao. You got me. Both are. But if one were to be better than another in battle I'd go with the latter.
To op; those are some good games you mentioned. Advanced wars n dragon quest. Been so long since playing a DS. Or at least the original one. I moved on from Nintendo, as IMO, more kiddie oriented games. I had moved on to PSP. I even had an Atari Lynx back in the day and a TurboExpress still have my Sega master system from over 20yrs. Ago.
D.S was a major advancement in evolution of mobile gaming compared to gameboy. I still think gameboy holds all time best selling portable device.

I really want a Dreamcast and Saturn Emulator. Loved playing power stones n Phantasy Star. Those had alot of great RPG also. PC engine/Turbo gratis 16 had some great RPG also.
The problem right now is no so much the lack of hardware that could handle it, it's been the compatability of the emulator with the games. Some games will just never work properly on an emulator no matter what the processing power.

I'm pretty sure it's only little kids who say Pokemon is only for little kids. All of my friends who are 20+ love Pokemon as it is a great game and is excellently made. All of Nintendo's games are made with the utmost quality and are jam packed full of fun.
That said, I would love to see a DS emulator for android. I've been hoping for one recently as I want to play Pokemon Black or White but I don't want to have to carry my DS around with me. Having only one thing to carry would be awesome.
If we were able to run a full fledged DS emulator on our Prime that would blow all the games iOS + Android combined.
i've had every model of the DS minus the latest 3-Disaster but i honestly wouldn't do much with a DS emulator. i'd probably have more fun with a GBA emulator.

Lol, it was a disaster for Nintendo maybe, but I was more than happy to trade in my old DSlite and get a brand new hand-held with tons of added features for $100 That being said, I use it the same amount which is not at all and I don't think I could put an emulator through any more use.
I do have GBC/GBA/NES/SNES/N64 emulators on my phone/Prime and love being able to break out the classics, but the newer Nintendo and its 1st party developers get the less they jive with me as a consumer and fan. A DS/3DS emulator would be for bragging rights more than anything.
What I do want to see is PS2 emulation though! I would kill for that.
There's an issue making emulators for current hardware though, and that's the fact that most dev's don't like entering legal battles with giant corporations. Emulating game ROMs for current hardware isn't looked at any different than pirated games on the original hardware I don't think.

What I can't understand is why madfinger seem to think that instead of adding some really cool extra features, instead they just put a pool of water rippling and a stupid water effect on the camera. They did the same thing on shadowgun saying "oh cool look at this!" Well we did, can we have actual better overall textures, normal maps, mip maps, bump maps, and every type of map, bloom, particle effects and everything that the tegra3 was supposed to bring with it. Thanks.

Could not have said it better myself! A must have!

Gameloft games finally available

So, yeah, a blessing and a curse. Just spent $7 on wild blood and kinda regret it, lol. Cool game, just not really worth it. Also not optimized for tegra devices. Only uses one core...
At least they are "compatible" now. No having to edit build.prop and break google wallet anymore.

Omg finally ! Nice, thanks for the heads up. Finally can play my tablet games on ny phone
Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app
Yet none of the apps I bought a few months ago are compatible..... Oh well
They added more titles today, oddly they don't all show up under their gameloft titles banner, you have to search for gameloft to pull more games
I really hate gameloft customer service and how badly the games run and are poorly optimized. What device are they programming for? The ruskie 1953?
Geez man, makes me so mad they have decent games but the company is so horrible.
I heard they prototype all games on Sun Solaris and then port to android

I heard they shoot meth in their eyeballs and are holding punky Brewster for ransom. Screw them with the biggest wingdong font available in 1992 sun Solaris 1.0.
