[Q] X10 XperiaS Rom Stock Browser - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
Can anyone help me regarding, the browser in the XperiaS rom.
When opening a website it redirects me to the mobi.*****.com website.
On other roms i have had it stay at www.****.com then i can have flashplayer working on the website and it looks the same as accessing it from a pc.
Do I need to load a different browser version.
I need this for playing video feeds from a website and the feeds are not available on the mobi version of the website.
EDIT: i beleive it is called desktop mode

that option should be integrated in the website itself, means u can switch from mobile to desktop version by clicking a link or a button. Otherwise, u can use opera mobile browser, i believe it supports full websites.

Edit: accidental post pls delete

Whilst on the subject just curious, what are the differences between Opera Mini and Opera Mobile? The mobile download size is much bigger but it doesn't seem to do anything differently??

The Opera mobile is a full web browser, means it handles full web pages (like the browsers on ur computer) and it plays flash content as well whilst opera mini can only download flash videos to ur phone. there must be other features that i can't recall or dunno about

Yet it works if you click OK ignore all of those errors. It is just incredibly annoying to do when typing Twitter or Brightkite updates. Alternatively, install ANY of the pre-official beta releases of Opera and you will be worlds ahead of any other browser on windows mobile, including Opera Mini.
I'm sure you can find threads on this forum.
I've been meaning to go digging on all the sites to find the latest and greatest opera version without the memory errors. I've been running both on my phone. The actual beta version allows you to throw the page in the direction you want to scroll a bit easier then the pre-release that I am running. I wish you could just turn off that error. The browser works seemlessly other than having to click OK, as far as I can tell. Someone needs to go in and change the je to a jg or something in the binary to disable that dialog.

[Q] A browser with flash support

Hi there,
How on earth do we get a fully funtioning web browser with flash support?
Is i.e. the only one when run with flash lite from Adobe? I am unable to find anything out about any of this at all - Adobe really hopeless site - unable to download ie from anywhere! (I think I binned it previously) Only have Opera.
Please help me
Thanks.
Isn't IE in your rom? Check out \Windows\iexplore.exe
No - I binned it. Installed skyfire, opera etc but still no flash.
thats this phones only downfall imho, no flash. its real sad that opera decided to sack the new flash supported opera off that was demo'd on hd2 ages ago in favour of windows phone 7, android and so on. the only way might be to install android onto your phone, even then, im not too sure if it works........
As far a I know, flash lite is not supported for the integrated opera mobile 9 on the hd2. However, you can always download opera mobile 10 from here which supports flash. Not sure if the latest version do support it, but Opera Mobile 10 beta 3 does support it after all.
Do you have working flash?

I can confirm that it does not work on my Opera 10 Mobile (final). Download Opera 10 Mobile beta 3 if you want flash support on opera.

You and anybody else who wants to run android on their HD2
All the Android lovers out there, find me one single off-line navigation app that gets any near to igo8 + dimka skin, and i am switching to Andoird as my primary OS on HD2.
you could try the uZardWebP browser. You can get from www.uzard.com.

[Q] Is there an app to allow full websites and no mobile versions?

Was wondering if you guys could help me to find an app to do this? Certain sites like ebay go straight to their mobile version when I try to access it on my phone... I want to be able to go to the full versions of websites ask the time. Is there an app that would block sites from being able to read that I'm on a phone? Thanks

You can change your browser settings to make it look like mozilla or anything you want. Try reading google or anywhere else instead of posting questions with answers everywhere.
@fenixnr. You can't do that on the stock browser anymore. Don't be a troll.
@ O.P. you have to use an alternate browser for that. Try dolphin HD. Then look in the setting and change the user agent to desktop.

If you're running any 2.2 ROM, you can use the stock browser to view non-mobile sites by typing "about:useragent" (without the quotes) into the address bar and selecting "Desktop" from the dialog that comes up.
Aside from that, you will need to use another browser from the Market.
The ucweb has the function you looking for. It is the most popular mobil browser in China. I don't know if there is a English version.
ok thanks guys... i have dolphin hd so i'll try that... i actually like the stock browser better so i may try that method as well, you have been a big help, thanks!

What's the best browser for this device (mini pro?)

My brother just got this phone, and he's loving it! We've got CM6 up and running. Is the default browser the best one? Or is there another browser he should look at? I ask specific to this device, and not to android in general, due to the relatively small screen size.

I personally like Opera Mobile a lot, it works very well on my Mini and it has support for HTML5 videos, you should also get Skyfire for general flash video support.
I've found opera not to support multi-touch on my mini pro, dolphin mini or dolphin hd do though. +1 for skyfire

Skyfire 4 FTW, Dolphin Mini is not that bad either.
Skyfire is not compatible with X10 Mini Pro?
Skyfire is fully compatible, just using it. When you can't play videos on Skyfire4, uninstall it, download Skyfire 3, run Skyfire 3, uninstall Skyfire 3 and than install Skyfire 4 and you will get licence for watching videos

But don`t appears in market to download....
You will need to use the hacked market from the development forum as the market will not show skyfire due to our screen resolution, despite this skyfire runs beautifully.
You can download .apk file and install it manualy, just search for it.
i suggest you use skyfire too, works like a charm on the phone
Opera Mini 6 on my Xperia mini pro works great and supports dualtouch...
If you are on slow GPRS or EDGE connections than Opera Mini is the fastest among all the browsers that I have tried.
Miren browser comes close to opera mini in terms of performance on slow connections and has an option of clearing the cache and exiting so that the RAM memory can be reclaimed by the operating system.
So what exactly has to be done, to find Skyfire in the market?
I already tried "Market Enabler", but that one didn't do the job, and although I searched for it, I could not find the .apk to install it manually. I looked through the dev forum, but could not find a "hacked" market.
I am running MiniCM7-2.1.8 btw.

Works for me too!
I am using Dolphin Mini Browser now, as it seems to be the best option for such "low end" mobile.
From what I read Opera is closed source and the traffic is "optimized" using their proxy servers, which means they can track & analyze all your steps in the web, which is nothing I would trust (as if one isn't already sharing enough data in the net). But to be honest, I don't really know the situation concerning the Dolphin company as well, so both may be in the same ship?
I haven't used the browser on the mobile much by now, so I can not really tell if it is the best option, but it will have to do for now.
Can anybody recommend a good open source browser for Android? On my PC I only use Firefox and Midori, but unfortunately those are not an option on the phone.
you should try uc browser works perft on my psp go
and on my iphone 3gs so it should work fine on xperia
by the way , whats that market called blackmarket ??
Ok opera it is fast and nice looking. But many pages not showing good. Thay are smashed. I lot travell in my country with buses. And when i need to open the page with timetravel table it is all smashed, evan id i unchack text warp. Also page of my university had view proble, with opera.
Because of that i use mini boat. Simple lookung but works nice.

App and Mobile Site Question

Hi all,
A quick question, couldn't find anything online...
Is there a way to turn off the feature that suggests downloading an Adroid app for the website your visiting?
Normally when you browse to certain sites (e.g. LinkedIn) from your mobile browser, it redirects you to a new landing page suggesting you download their app, normally with the option to "continue to mobile site" on the same page.
This is probably the actual sites recognising you are on Android and adding the page themselves, but would really like a way of turning this off/blocking this ability. If I wanted the app, I would download the app myself!
Cheers

I didn't think it'd be doable easily
So, the website you visit, uses Java to show the extra landing page when it notices you're on android, nothing to do with browser or android itself?
