For music, I suggest PlayerPro over poweramp
For video, Definitely MX player or Mobo player

poweramp no doubt. it's tried and true. also, the audio-tweaking options are unmatched.
for player pro, you have to install a dsp package...i don't know about you, but the less i have to install, the better. poweramp is the all inclusive package that makes your music sound many times better.

When it comes to sound quality, I think PowerAmp is the best by far. On the other hand, n7player has a GUI more pleasing to the eye. And also, there is the price, but if You want to enjoy the music in its fullest I say go with PowerAmp. I use it myself and just love it.

No you don't. PlayerPro comes with an EQ like PowerAmp, but you can add the DSP package if you want to. IMO PowerAmp is all flash and bling with OK audio, while PlayerPro concentrates on being easy to navigate and deliver great sound. Like PowerAmp you can tweak the audio exactly like you want it and the DSP addon only allows you to push it a little further.
But between PowerAmp and N7? PowerAmp aaaall the way.

I know it's not listed but for the audiophile there can be only one player: Neutron Music Player.
Really just try it. Better than poweramp
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA

PlayerPro FTW! For me the best music player, i tried PowerAmp but i dont like its UI, PlayerPro is much easier to use.

now Poweramp is the best audio player for android device but for the best quality of sounds you should use some other thinks like audiobeats or scripts to get better voice

How awesome wouldn't it be if somebody resourceful made a meticulous blind test using different Android music playback options on a high end system!
Personally I find minimal difference in image, width and dynamics between different player apps; voodoo sound is what makes real impact in my ears.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk

Well the dsp engine in neutron mp really shines. It also features enhanced audio interpolation methods (1GHz+ CPU required for best quality) and Ambiophonics R.A.C.R. DSP. Try it people!

PowerAMP all the way for me
Fantastic sound can be had from the 10 band EQ, and it has decent presets. The UI is gorgeous and its very simple to manipulate, even when you're on the go. It plays everything i throw at it, and i can change tags/artwork from within the app... the list goes on
Been using PowerAMP for about 2 years now, and it's still the best

Yup, that would be interesting. But we'd need an audiophile for that. Anyone interested? Download the PowerAmp, PlayerPro demos and other players and share your thoughts.

the problem is... some demo only lasted for 30 sec... will be hard to really test the software... unless errr... nevermind

Wuut? PowerAmp and PlayerPro demos lasts for two weeks.

Which music player do you use? I'm using PlayerPro + DSP Pack...
Poweramp all the way... but if u prefer slightly (IMO) better sound, free app, and can stand the interface, try rockbox.
I use rockbox mainly, but keep poweramp just in case.

Ofc. audio-life.co.uk/apps/rockbox_android/ it's a free app.
Once again I remind u don't judge it by its interface, but its capabilities and in-depth settings. Take some times to learn and trust ur own ears.

it can play "almost" all audio formats. i only have lossless (flacs, etc) collections in my pc, and rockbox can play all of them.
try to google it first. soundwise, it's the nicest.
where I can set an equalizer? I cannot find it...
PowerAmp Its the Best!
The sound its much better, and you can volume up more from the limits on equalizer deck!
Hi... In my opinion, PlayerPro v.2.04 is the best... it has equalizer plug-in and also many skins are available... Album-arts can be added easily and even you can choose a custom album-art... It works more smoothly than poweramp and uses less system resources.... a free version is also available but no equalizer (still wonderful sound quality) but the paid version is perfect...

[Q] Why'd you all hate the stock music player?

Why do you all hate the stock music player? I've used PowerAMP Pro, Mixzing, and the stock player. And I have to say, there's no damn difference apart from the stock player has a nicer and much more simple GUI, nice equalizer, and is free. Why waste 5 quid on a crappy 'PowerAMP Pro' that wastes battery, looks ****, etc.
Thoughts? Cheers
P.s. I think the Stock music player is ****ing ace .
EDIT: OK because you were all on about PlayerPro I checked it out and damn is it good! It has very nice bass and it's louder too. Only problem is that it uses up 3* as much RAM and 4* as much battery as the stock player, which in my eyes isn't worth it for such a small improvement. Anyway, I still love the stock player, they're both great!
It doesn't read my .m3u playlists. So I bought ZPlayer.
I dont hate it, i like and use it ^^
Glad that someone wrote it finally
I also think that stock player is very good, maybe not perfect but still.
Only player that could threat stock player may be Winamp but now it has so many bugs that for me is useless

The AOSP player has a widget I believe. But it's still bland like the TW version.
Even the 3rd party players availableon the market don't do it for me because they don't integrate the way I'd like.

good music player software for the 10.1

Hi there,
this is a thread to discuss music player software for the galaxy tab. So far I found 2 nice software players:
Play Music:
the default player has a nice eye-candy ui that looks good on the tab, but other than that it doesn't have much going for it. It lacks an equalizer and visualizations.
Android Music Player by JRTStudio:
this player comes with a clean ui, allthough it doesn't seem to be particularly suited for tablet devices. It also lacks some sort of fullscreen music visualization, but it comes with a good equalizer built in. That way, you can enjoy your music.
WinAMP for Android:
horrible UI, totally unsuited for tablet devices, lack of visuals and equalizer (EQ only in pro version).
do you know any alternatives (free or paid)? It would be nice if the software could show a nice music visualization on the screen while playing music.
regards
Horscht
I have very good references about this:
Here is the trial version.

Wow, PowerAMP looks really clean and works well. The sound options are just plain awesome. It still lacks visualizations but, damn this is a great player. But at a price of 4€ not exactly cheap either. Gonna keep on using the trial for now, see if it's really worth that price tag
I've been using Jukefox for a few days. The first time you run it you need to wait a bit, but that's because its loading album art and generating a tag cloud. Not sure if I like it or not - I usually go for a really clean simple UI. But the way it presents your music isn't like any other player I've seen before.

The best music player for Galaxy S3..? Hmm...
It would depend what device will you use for listening, but...
In general, if you will use STOCK music player, BUT if you'd connect it via this device you should be more or less happy...
Of course, if I'd be you, I'd expand it a little with for example This small add-on
I know that it has some weaknesses, but you know, I looked for something cheap
I've purchased neutron and it does sound better than poweramp.

Best music player you found

-updated
What's the best music player you found....audio quality...easy of use...and ofcourse better than default music player
Let me start first...
Denon music player for audio when you disable equaliser is the good sound quality...but the bad...it is not user friendly...and equaliser have to disable manually..the setting only for tune in...not for the app itself
And the other one is poweramp audio quality is good..but lower audio quality than denon music app....the one things I like about it is...the player is easy to use...the interface is good...
Just reviewed...ithink it is the best overall...player pro...audio quality superb...it blend nicely with beats...interface good...and yrs it is better than stock
Recommended
Tried winamp...not better than stock music player...
Tried double twist..the sound smear...well if you find good on your hox+ let me know
Neutron..is not intended for hox + smear

Tried Denon but it pays no attention to volume button, therefore volume is stuck at about 80%. Stock player at same relative volume has far better bass response on the Photek track I used for comparison. The stock player also seemed to have a more spacious sound and better stereo separation. No Beats used, useless thing.
Volume issue seems related to eq. Disable eq and volume toggle responds. Changed to Orbital track, in flac. Belfast, classic tune. Anyhoo, Denon has a very weak sound. Highs seem overly compressed and a bit too quiet. Stock player, no complaints.
Subjective question, so subjective answer. Stock is better.
I'm a huge fan of PowerAmp as well.

I use high end In-Ears for $130. (No, I don't mean beats!)
The sound is impressive and better than with any other music player.
I never got smear sound or somethin' else.
Seriously, what's wrong with Winamp? Best interface ever, sound quality is awesome (especially with equalizer adjustements in Pro version), ability to browse collection using folders, .flac support... I've been using it since launch and I like it the best.
I like poweramp, I tried the stock player, and playing through my alpine hd137blue tooth they sound the same to me. My interiors are alpine type r powered by v-power amp, so I turn off all sound enhancements. I just prefer the poweramp UI, the stock player is too plain IMO. Admittedly though, the blue tooth sound quality could use improvement, my old desire z left nothing to be desired in terms of sound quality over BT, I miss it for that reason.
