Just letting everyone know I have spent the last few hours compiling a whole bunch of add on visual presets for ProjectM for Android, available on the Play Store... Here's the thread I posted in the General Android forums... But since I did it on my SGSII, I figured I'd share here as well. Instructions and download on the thread linked.

Enjoy.
Just updated to version 2.0 - adding over 9,000 new visual presets!
xD
Looks like the dev is going to be adding my package directly to the app for in app download! See the thread linked in the op for details.

Hi there!
I've started this project to make an application to track myself when i'm out walking with my lovely touch pro.
Now i would like to make it open source and free for all trekking amateurs, and i'm posting this here to get some advice and to see if someone is interested.
I would like to make a simple and beautiful application, that doesen't drain the battery and that allow to record and repeat trails, store waypoints, integrate some mappings and exchange data with google earth or others apps. It might include some geocaching features and online sharing stuffs as well...
The project is hosted on http://code.google.com/p/trailcompanion/
and i've set up a development blog here: trailcompanion.wordpress.com
I'm not releasing any cabs soon, just some source code to start and see what we can get...
however, if someone would like to be involved just show up here!
Here some screenshots:
*Edit 2009-08-30:
I've posted some updates and sample screenshots on the devel blog:
http://trailcompanion.wordpress.com/...lydays-update/
*Edit 2009-10-24:
Moved the post to this new section
First cab released, try it!
*Edit 2009-11-01:
Updated: some bugfixes
Get the cab here:
Mirkuz.TrailCompanion.1.9.8.0.CAB
thanks for the opensource release.. have linked to the app from 1800PocketPC.com

good luck!
Now it should be compatible with all resolution phones and windows mobile 6.5.
This is a simple kitchen for Nexus One. You can choose a base rom, add and remove apps from it. I am working on adding more customization options like kernels, languages, boot animations etc.
http://feeder.pk/
Special thanks to flybyme, APrinceAmongMen, HNH992 and l1nuxfre4k.
Make apps/roms request to chowdarygm.
Please help me pay server rent for this kitchen. Donate link is on site.
UPDATES:
- Added feature to remove apps from rom
- Added support for kang-o-rama service packs
- Aded support for languages
- Added boot screen customization
oh **** thanks! def gonna check this out
wow that looks really nice!
Should be able to change the build number to IMO . Also some things as ADW Launcher instead of Launcher Pro should be there since ADW is open source not the other.
tell me the apps you want and i'll add them
Very nice! you got it up and running in no time...
Languages is something I'm definitely interested in, especially a good Right-To-Left fix.
Thanks. Testing it out.
I always wants a bare minimal rom with speed but little other things
Bandwidth Limit Exceeded
The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to the site owner reaching his/her bandwidth limit. Please try again later.
[/code]
yes, got run out of bandwidth in just one night! anyways, will be up soon...
Okay, so as the site ran out of bandwidth, i upgrade the hosting and it's back now.
This is a very awesome idea, so don't take this the wrong way but...
Isn't this perfectly achievable simply by downloading the base ROM, opening the zip file, deleting/adding the apps you don't want/want, moving the boot animation from one ROM zip to another and signing it with the available script here on XDA?
Not to mention kernels/radios have to be flashed separate anyways so they can easily be downloaded from the site here.
Maybe when all those options are available and I try all of it with the kitchen to see the end results it might make more sense, but as of right now I just don't understand.
(PS- Maybe its just because I understand the process more now...because when I first joined XDA, I book marked your thread as soon as you opened it and I thought it was the coolest idea; that I didn't understand what it was for lol; ever.)
this is sweet! thank you guys!
love it , will follow your work as it evolves.
I am in process of adding languages to the kitchen, please provide me with a link of your languages to include it in.
Thanks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this is so cool, thank you million times! I finished my rom cooking and I'll flash!!
This is a great idea. Thanks for putting it together. And it works great!
UPDATE: now you can select language packs to install in a rom
edit: removed temporarily cause of a bug
Warned once, reopened
UPDATE: now you can remove apps already installed on the rom.

I've enjoyed learning about the world of android development. I recently was able to discover the awesomeness of the SVN. I was curious if there were a way to know which roms that you can use SVN with? Or is it just something that you have to just do an Internet search on? This is my second post ever. Please take it easy on me if this post is uneducated sounding or misplaced. As this is not my area of expertise. Yet. Thanks in advance

two questions come to mind as i'm not 100% clear on your original question.
1) using SVN to manage/develop a ROM
i'm not an expert but this is the first definition of svn which comes to my mind. defined by google as: In software development, Apache Subversion (formerly called Subversion , command name svn ) is a revision control system.
short answer: your original question, a way in which ROMs can use svn? i.e. using svn to manage a ROM? sure, that would be possible. personally i've seen svn more commonly used for actual coding control, i.e. a specific apk which comes as part of a ROM, the developer might use svn to control changes to the apk code.
long answer: i don't think i've ever seen a ROM listed on svn. as it would be more package management since most ROMs are created off the sense base and then changes are by through reversing the apk files using, smali, pngs, etc. svn might be interesting to use for smali code control .. never seen it or thought of it before.
i have only used snv once or twice as i've used git more often on github. i have an app, wimax keys checker for the evo/shift device which i've used github to maintain version and code control. http://github.com/joeykrim/WimaxKeys .
rom transparency and public code control of a whole ROM has not seemed very popular in here. seems made code changes made by ROM devs are kept semi *secret* or *private*. whenever i do happen across a post showing which smali edits to make to modify a stock apk file, i usually thank the posted as i view it to be a valueable contribution to the community.
2) accessing an SVN from inside of android (referring to android as a ROM). if you're referring to being able to access a SVN repository through android, i'm sure thats also probably possible. a quick search of the market for the term svn reveals a few apps. https://market.android.com/search?q=svn&so=1&c=apps
Wow, thanks! Yes, I was using the synergy rom for my evo 3d. I wasn't aware of keeping up with nightly builds via SVN until a couple of days ago. I was merely googling and hoping to find the latest build before that. I wasn't sure if ALL roms were kept updated the same way. You are CLEARLY more educated on this stuff than I. Thanks for the quick lesson.

Ah, synergy! I was able to quickly google the four phrases: synergy android rom svn and found a great thread on accessing some popular ROM SVN sites:
[Guide][Windows][UPDATED 8/29/11] Use SVN to download Synergy & Other ROM Nightlies
The OPs write up is pretty accurate and definitely contains relevant information regarding the world of SVN and code management.
It would appear they are using SVN thru the google code site as a file management method for their ROMs. They store each individual file on their svn site available for download at request. The "traditional" method for distrubuting ROMs has been to share a packaged .zip file which can be stored on the sdcard for loading through a custom recovery. Essentially it appears you can download individual pieces of the ROM through the SVN sites as opposed to only being able to download one large .zip file and then extracting the required individual pieces.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Seems I had missed this trend as I don't visit the developer section very often. Hope the additional details and thread with ROM SVN links help!
No, THANK YOU!
I've noticed a constant fc problem with google's most recent app updates and wanted to give a bit of help for those who would like to stick to ICS, but couldn't really find a place to get older versions of the apps that are acting up. Feel free to post any other Youtube/Google Music workarounds/apk's you may be using on ICS (as they may be more up-to-date or have some other added benefit); as well as any others that may occur.
These might be old, but it has been CONFIRMED that they still work with ICS,
Google Play Music 4.1.513
Youtube (forgot which version it is though; care to help me remember?)
NEW apks-
Modified Google Play Music, Movies and YouTube apks (Be sure to read around a little)
I wanted to refrain from posting this, as I was hoping google would fix these things soon, but by the looks of it everything that was messed up is still screwed...
Also, I'd like to thank existz for all the time and effort he puts into fixing things for his users; which in turn allows me to bring some useful info here to our device section.
[EDIT: This is probably deprecated. PM me if you feel this needs re-opening]
I've been having the same issue. Thanks for posting these up. Hopefully this gets pinned somewhere for future reference. Shame they stopped working.
Thanks for this. I was hoping too that G would get it fixed but it's nice to have links to known stable apps.
Tapatalking from my v.2.5 Resurrected Dark Unicorn Glacier
OP updated with a link to newer apks (idk what version they are, as I have yet to try them, but these are versions that used to FC and are now modded/fixed for ICS). Big thanks to existz for having such helpful and well-maintained source, which allowed me to find this. Let me know how it goes for you guys
Cheers!

Hello guys.
I have been a part of the Themer Beta team. I guess many of you are too. I think you noticed that we can only export the themes as zip files and in no way publish these to the Play Store to get ratings or proper feedback.
I was thinking about releasing an app (open source) which everyone can use within their themes to publish them to the Play Store (unless the Themer Team makes an official feature like that available).
Any ideas or recommendations as such are welcome.
It is a nice idea for sure. But i would suggest u first talk it out with the themer team if they have any similar plans ...
i think they are working just like mycolorscreen web. Love? button and adding some extra feature like Download. And also link the web acc with android acc so that the theme will automatically download to your phone from web.

I did have a talk with the admin at MCS. He said that all themes are to be sent to him. Its kind of a downer for an app with such capabillties. More people would have participated and published their themes if it had this feature since they would have got a bit of appreciation and feedback from users too.
I found a workaround which we can use to publish the themes to Play Store until its added officially (that is if its ever added).
I'll publish it at night.

Some other would also want to do that. Could you tell us about the workaround?
As the matter of sending themes, there should be an option to publish the theme within the app (something like "Request publishing" that will export and send current theme to MSC Admin via e-mail app).

I was just about to make the thread now. Its open source. Check it out in about 10 mins.
Here's the thread if anyone wants to publish your themes to the Play Store.

Take a look if you are interested in it.
I have a question, coming I'm sure from a place of profound ignorance, but couldn't people upload the .zips to dropbox and others could download them and put them in the themer folder themselves?

Already did that. But you need to play with number to fit urs. Others res might be different from urs.

First of all, you have to download themes from the inbuilt browser to use the themes. Even if u put the zip in the exported folder, you can't see the screenshots. You have to apply the theme, export it again, then apply again to see the screenshots. Too much hassle.
Why not just put the zip and screenies in 2 folders of the app which would do everything for you?
And I made this especially for themers who would like to publish themes to the Play Store which is much more convenient IMO. Others can just mail their theme to the admin at MCS to have them hosted privately.
Not sure where to put this since there is no Bugs/Suggestions thread in this section, so I'm putting this here.
@ThemerSupport
A few suggestions if you don't mind.
Add support for custom ROMs since almost every launcher out there has support for this.
Option to publish themes to the Play Store. Its a huge drawback I found for themers who publish to the Store. (The only reason I published a workaround for it since it lacks official support)
Make a Bugs/Suggestions thread.
Great job you all did!
