[WIP] Mugen Power 2650mah Slim Extended Battery Review - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

I just got the 2650mah rated extended battery. Will post a review once it goes through a few cycles.

Awesome, thanks for doing the review. I've been on the fence about ordering this batt.

Hello where did you buy and how much?

You can get it at mugen power website. So far it had been disappointing (stock performs better) however let's see after a few cycles.

extended for an extra 150mah? not worth it...

Where is the review

Aftermarket batteries are crap. OEM's spend millions on battery research. Aftermarket battery companies spend a fraction of that, hence why their batteries blow chunks. Don't waste your money.

Yeah on second thought 2650mah is only like a 6% increase in battery life?

I'll have to agree. Not enough return for the price. I'm waiting to see if seidio comes out with 5,000 mAh extended like I keep hearing about
seidio has there battery available now.

Yeah I know. But what's more important to each person is really gonna be the question. Size or battery life?

have you tested it?, any comments?
thanks

I finished testing it and will post a full review along with pictures (for proof?) later tonight. Currently at work so unable to do so.
But for anyone looking to buy, I say don't waste your money. The extra minutes isn't worth the $45-50... I am returning it and buying another stock for $25.
Also I apologize for the delay for the review

If you want extended battery life, buy the Anker.

Anyone purchased any of the 2800 may batteries off eBay?
Curious if they really are more power or its just another lie.
Is there a good aftermatket extended battery out there?

Why cant they make a 3000mAh battery thats only 50% thicker instead of double???

Yeah, screw the whole speedboat look. I used to carry a Tekkeon MyPower All 3700 on me, this is far less conspicuous & faaaaaaaar cheaper.
Also better than that Sprint power pack pro that sells for $40 & only holds a pathetic 1100mAh.
I could see that coming in handy for people who travel a lot.
Yeah, on my trips to NYC I find myself in starbucks, tethered to an outlet for an hour more times than I'm comfortable with.
Thanx for the heads up on this. I had the Sprint version of the technocel battery pack for my evo 4g which felt cheap and I think the connectors ruined my charging port, but I like this New Trent. waiting for delivery

My biggest gripe with my new Trent is that it doesn't charge the EVO 3d fast enough.
If I am in a situation where I need the extra juice (eg poor reception and I'm trying to make an extended call or do a lot of 3d) it does not seem to increase the charge in the battery.
You can have 99% charge in your external battery but if the internal battery is less than 15% you can't do a thing.
If only the 4000mah battery wasn't so ugly...

Turn off the power save conditions on the EVO. They kick in below 15 percent.

Does the power save option affect things like 3d capture below 15%?

Is this something that could maybe be fixed with later dev-updates?

Best extended battery

I guess a lot of people have tried getting an extended battery for their Evo3D. Which one is the best you have tried, and what kind of uptime did you get it from it?
Did it fit the original cover, and can you recommend the replacement cover?

Expansys Extended battery for me has been awesome, 2 days + normal use, 4 days if i dont use it much!!!
Well, how extended are these? ;D
look it up! 3400 mah
If you want it to fit under your stock battery cover, go with Anker or Chichitec. Both are listed as 1900mah and are definitely better than stock. I get around 20 hours Up time and 5 hours Awake with the Anker batteries. 2 batteries and an external charger for around $30 shipped for either brand, and both ship from California I believe (Anker for sure). For reference, I get around 14 hours Up and 3.5 hours Awake with stock HTC battery. Also, the Anker batteries are only listed for the Sensation, but both use the same battery. Not sure why Anker doesn't list them for the Evo 3D as well, I'm sure they would sell quite a few more if they did....

We got 2 Anker batteries for our E3Ds a little over a month ago and am very satisfied. Lasts longer than stock. You can buy 1-battery, 1-charger+1 battery or 1-charger+ 2 batteries. Fast shipping also.

Yep I have two CHICHITEC batteries they work great and last just as long as the stock battery if not longer.
Seidio 4000 mah by far the best hands down. 3G/4G used entire time, many calls, games, YouTube videos, lots of e-mail and gps

anker 3500mah battery Review impressive

Hello,
Few days before i got an anker 3500mah battery. I found it very impressive. just to see where it stands i just run antutu benchmark. it was started from 100% full charge to 15%.
it was running all the night.
just to check the accuracy, i tried it for another night. result was almost same.
It was quite good. cpu usage 100%, brightness full, wifi on, bluetooth on.
and I got 765 score. which was on second place after motorola zoom.
just see image.

Its just a brand new battery, hrd that after some recharge cycle it will enhance more.
may be after switching off wifi and bluetooth,we can get better score.
I need backup, as i travel a lot. This one, i found to be nice, good cheap replacement. although it makes phone bit bulky, but doesnt matter. back cover is good enough.
Ok..how about some real results like what the stock battery stats says? The graph will look like this

So... Is this battery good for the Evo 3D?
I got this from ebay in 19$, sure I will just try to get that stat. Till yet I have not tested it thoroughly, as my number is not yet ported. But in a day it will, I will full charge it, use it as heavily and let you know an legit review, worth a buying or not.

does this battery lose its power after some time?
does this battery work as a real 3500mah battery?
Would you mind getting Battery Monitor Widget (free) and running a Calibration and report your result? the method/instruction are posted in this thread

Big Battery...

So having a bigger battery is nice right? I mean all that extra juice comes in handy especially with that nice big note screen. However the thing looks a bit funny and isn't well protected anymore. Is there a case that replaces the back cover? The batteries are rather cheap(I got scammed for 40 bucks for my 5200) there must be something out there....
Your best bet is to just buy a spare OEM battery and charging dock. Keep it slim and most likely 2 OEM batteries will last longer then a 5200. The spare is real thin, I keep mine in my wallet. Usually only need it for trips and really late nights partying.

This is honestly your best bet at this moment. I'm ordering mine tomorrow after my pay clears. I also have a 5000mah battery but I figure this would help me along also.

I was hesitant to buy the extended battery, however at less than $9 shipped, I took the chance. I'm very satisfied! Sure, the device is bigger now, but I can go the whole day while on LTE and not worry about swapping the battery out or forgetting the extra battery, etc. I purchased an aluminum bumper to aid in protection for the sides. I got over 6hrs screen on time yesterday on the FIRST day of using the battery. All syncs on, all location services (except GPS) on always, etc. Basically, I wasn't trying to save battery at all.

I have an extended battery and Hyperion case its not that bad after this I don't think I could go back to the regular battery I stream Pandora to my Bluetooth speaker and play Netflix heavy. I can make it through 8 hours now its well worth it for me!
I'm testing both these extended batterys to see which ones better.

These guys are a joke. There have been no reviews showing the capacity in Mugen's batteries are more than Anker's despite it costing more than DOUBLE the price.
In fact, there are review AGAINST IT.: http://batteryboss.org/

Thanks for the opportunity to make my 4th. This is my second week on this forum, and I'm mostly reading, not posting. When I feel that I can contribute, I do. I've used smartphones for 10 yeras since E90 and used many different extended battery brands, so yeah, I stand by what I say.
I've used the Mugen Extended battery on both the original Note and the Note 2. I didn't have a problem with either. Great quality and great battery life. True the price is steep but it's a good product. If the back cover of the Note 3 extended battery was like the leather effect of the standard cover, I'd be more inclined to get it

Do they sell the back separately? There is no reason to think that the battery is better than an Anker, but the back definitely is.
How did you think they are able to charge that much?

Yes, we do, and we exchange back doors for the ordered batteries free of charge.
I wouldn't mind having an extended battery although I don't really need one. Only thing really keeping me from getting something like this is the fact that there isn't any cases that this would be compatible with and I have to have some kind of protection on my device.
