Did you force roam or roam alot? Show us your data usage for last month. I've been on corporate prl's since the evo 4g and I'm good still. I rarely roam though and I'm on wifi when I'm at home.

You've got to keep track of your roaming regardless. I've gotten pretty high up on roaming some months just from using a normal PRL. The corporate PRLs, more so. I'm sorry to hear that you had that happen to you though.
Did your mother be like I told you so you little turd head? Lol
They did the Same to me but i also used 5gb of roaming. Now i am trying to sell my EVO3d and shift. I switched to att and love my Samsung note and i get 5 gb per line not to bad i just have to slow down a little.

isn't getting cancel a good thing?
I got a formal letter from Sprint a few months back stating that if my data roaming continued they'd cancel my account.
I was using the 11115 PRL + the Force Roam option I added in Warm TwoPointThree. About 2gb of data roaming a month. (98% of my data was roaming)
I have since stopped force roaming..
data roaming......that is something that seems the trend here.
i assume they ALWAYS warn before canceling right?

I never seen my phone go to roam. I used 11115 on my EVO 4G also. I don't know how much I was using I will try and find out. It kinda worked out my bill was like 150 amonth and now its only 60 to add 2 phones to my moms. And they wiped out my bill but still a pain in the ass.

Sprint is great if you don't abuse it
Whoa, this whole time I thought they did charge you. I stayed in a cabin in North Carolina once where I had no signal and I disabled my roaming in fear I would get a heavy bill when I got back. Thank you for the heads up.
If you get a voice roam charge call and they will wipe it no questions asked. They blabbed something about its an issue with their billing. Yep sure...
What is the difference between a normal and a corporate prl?

It isn't really stealing it at all, it just forces our devices to roam on to Verizon towers which free roaming is part of our plans. The Plans are rising due to the demand of users increasing year after year and greedy companies who are convinced we NEED them. they require more money for better upgrades in service but sadly sprint seems to lack keeping up with their overhauled network.

The benefit is that, it allows you to roam on Verizon and use 3G data while roaming. A standard Sprint PRL will let you roam but only use 1x data while roaming.
The downside is that if you use too much data (some say over 300MB) while roaming each month, Sprint will cancel your service.

Just go Verizon and be done with it.. Either pick up the galaxy s3 off contract or the iPhone 5 and go month to month. Then when/if something big drops this winter for Verizon you can sign a contract and get the phone you want subsidized.
I'd go with iPhone 5 so I know I'm going to get back at least 80% of my money when I'd sell it for what ever Android device Verizon gets soon.

They actually sent me a letter and I'm, again, very unsure if how to proceed. You see, I have had every iteration of the "evo" moniker with sprint. I've always had stellar service inside my house and out into my neighborhood going back to my og EVO on wimax and even further to my mogul... The reason I feel like I got punched in the gut...? I haven't freaking moved! So, to review, 6 years in the same spot with relatively great service -get the 4g lte -2 months later im sent a warning letter explaining basically I better stop roaming or I will be dropped as a customer (of 11 years btw). Best part: (wait for it)...Live in gf has an S3 (sprint) And hasn't roamed and sits on LTE all day... It's times like these I feel like I have to be part of a f*/??g twighlight zone episode. Wish I could help but I don't have a clue what to do about my own similar situation..

yea i think i may go with verizon and get the gs3 along with my wife. Then if they get the note2 i can sell my gs3, sprint gs3, and Evo Lte. To get the note2.:good: plus id only be paying 15 dollars more a mo. but with the faster service and more coverage i think its worth it.
So lemme get this straight. You can buy a subsidized phone. Get kicked off your contract. Then you get to kelp your phone?

Well I guess I'm next. Me & almost everybody in my area. Sprint's service has been horrible these last couple weeks. I roam over half the time. Can't tell you how many dropped calls or unable to make calls or how many unable to send messages or the double, triple sometimes 6 or 7 duplicate messages I get when I finally do get service. I know this area is due to get LTE soon but something has to give. And all I get from Sprint is "We aren't seeing any outages in your area" instead of just saying we're working on the towers. Kinda wish they would kick me off. Might be time to change up.

This happened to me for over 3 weeks and I had made several calls to CS but to no avail. I was just about to head into the sprint store and demand an s3 or no ETF when I canceled my contract. After my final call, just before I was headed to my car I noticed that I had 4g lte.
I'm in an area with decent Verizon coverage and I force roaming and all I get is 0-1 bars of 1X. Is there a trick to getting 3G while roaming?

You would need to flash a Verizon prl and like its been mentioned, not a good idea. Sprint throttles first, send a polite warning and then terminate if you continue to roam.

Like he said, you'll need to manually install a Verizon prl to do it But in all seriousness, I wouldn't try it... Once upon a time I tried a mod to force Verizon roaming on my old HTC Hero and promptly got a letter from Sprint less than a week later. It's just not a smart thing to do.

I've used CDMA Workshop to update my PRL using all the different PRLs posted on this site, from 00001 - 56xxx. I seemed to get the best results with 11119 last billing cycle. I roamed over 31GB but no letter from Sprint. So I was going to continue to take advantage of the speeds until they warn me.
However, when I tried yesterday, I get very slow speeds with all the PRLs and my Sprint data usage page always shows Sprint 3g & Sprint 4g numbers increasing, but not Sprint 3g roaming usage. What's weird is the phone NEVER connects to LTE service so how is my 4g usage amount increasing? I know some of the PRLs listed would not show the roaming indicator although I was indeed roaming. But the Sprint usage page only shows Sprint usage increasing.
Anyways, when I flash 11119 or any other PRL from the XDA site, do I also need to set the Roam Only option in Settings -> Mobile Data -> Roaming (MeanBean ROM & I'm not opposed to switching ROMs if that's the issue)? My current Sprint PRL via Update PRL is 24012. Should I just keep the Sprint PRL and set the Roam Only option for Mobile Data? I tried it briefly and it switches my connection to 1x. Will 1x still count as 3G roaming? It's slow as heck so I can't imagine 1x data usage pushing my usage numbers up very high.
Only my 2nd post so forgive me if I posted in the wrong area, asked stupid questions, etc. Blast me and I'll get it all right the next time ... I promise!!

Technically Sprint CAN charge .25$ per megabyte over 300mb usage of off-network roaming, by the way That would be quite the bill you'd have there. Sprint is tricky and unpredictable in most cases. I'd be careful. Just my .25$. Lol.

There may be a provision that Sprint *can* charge you extra for roaming, but I've never heard of it actually happening to anyone in practice. It seems to be standard procedure that they just drop you after a certain amount of time of excessive roaming, and they give you advance notice that you're being dropped. I've actually seen a copy of the letter they send. In my personal experience, I've never been charged extra for roaming despite routinely going over their 300mb cap.
