Hello.
When using the Wanamlite ROM I have found that when double clicking the home buttton it doesn't bring up the Vlingo voice service. Does anyone know how to re-enable this?
I tried to copy the androidpolicy.jar file from his deoxed rom and paste it into my framework folder, but this did not work.
Any help would be grateful.

I'm just curious- do you actually use it for anything?
I've tried to put that file in my frame work folder, but it still didn't work. I went to root explorer and copied it in. Is that all I have to do to get it to work? Will I have to do a reboot using cwm? Also, I use my phone as a sat nav sometimes, so the driving mode is great. It reads messages to you.

Hi all,
I'm having some trouble with the bluetooth on my phone. When I press the bluetooth button to turn on, it does nothing. It doesn't turn green as it usually does and doesn't search for devices. I checked my files and there is no bluetooth apk file. I have no idea how it got deleted but I was wondering if there's anyway I can download it from somewhere? Also what other files would I need to get the bluetooth working again?
Thank you!

You could extract it from your rom and push it back to system/app.
Well that makes sense but when I try looking that up, I get a bunch of guides on how to extract and delete, but what do I type into command to push it back?
It is easiest to use Titanium Backup or recovery to push it back to your phone.

A simpler way is just to extract it from your rom then use root explorer to paste it in your system/app directory.
Hi to everyone, Yesterday i tried to install touchwiz 4.0 following these instructions
http://www.tutebox.com/3776/mobile/install-touchwiz-4-0-on-any-samsung-phone/
As soon as i put the .apk file in system/app (via adb shell), the GUI become black. I rebooted with no results, so i deleted the file and rebooted again.
Nothing... Bricked.
I did a factory reset & wipe cache partition.
Now the device boot exactly one time after a factory reset but with no graphical interface, if i turn it off and on again it doesn't boot.
Do you have any suggestion about how to solve?I think this isn't a total brick but a problem with graphical interface files.
Info about the device:
Galaxy wifi 4.0 YP-G1CW/XEF
Android 2.3.5 (Official update with kies)
rooted with super one click
Was this your only launcher?
It makes sense that if you delete the only launcher you would loose your GUI. I was using ADW EX as my main one so I had no ill effects.
I suppose you will need to somehow get the twlauncher30.apk put back into system/app folder. And since you lost your GUI, you might have to flash back the stock rom.
I am not sure but maybe others can help you with more tricks.
Sorry to hear about your troubles though.
Thank you cvcduty, yes, I have probably overwritten the original touchwiz.apk file. To be sure, could you or someone with the same device post here the content of his system/app folder?
I cannot even replace the file because the device does not respond to adv. Is there any other way to access the memory ? Damn!

pm me. I can email you the stock touchwiz apk file. But your main problem is getting the file into the system/app folder.
Maybe someone with more knowledge can assist you with accessing the player via ADB or something. You should still be able to get the player into Download mode so maybe there is a way to access the player's folder structures from your PC... Good luck.
You can access the file on your player by connecting to a windows computer. Just open the player in computer and drag the file. I think this might work.
Thank you cvcduty and heat361. Through a normal usb connection you can only access to the "sdcard" folder and not the root folder.
I solved the problem in the simplest way: flashed with odin.
Thank you again
I was going to suggest ODIN gonna give tw a shot in ICS on my vibrant thanks for the link.

2) Tried using the root explorer method (deleted the keystr, added new file and making sure the file is ON )
Help
3) I read in some forum about using Hex editor can anyone tell me how do I do this?

If the file already exists and contains ON, also make sure the permissions on the file are at least 644, or rw-,r--,r--.

Thanks for looking
First one to thank you! Trying this as im typing right now..
it's pretty useless without voice recognition
Getting a network error...any ideas?
My data is enabled.
This is working on most AOSP/AOKP.
Not working on stock or stock like roms.
Voice will not connect with servers and you will only get errors.
Its a work in progress.
It will install but you can only search by typing.

Is it possible to get a CMW flashable zip of this?
Just tested it out and it does load but the network issues and no voice search kill it a bit , but its got a future...
To revert back can I just make apk1 to apk?
Or do I need to uninstall something?
I couldn't find it in that thread.
On the last page someone asked the same thing but hasn't had an answer so I was wondering if anyone has done it here.

can you guys with the network error try this one (and log if possible)
push it to /system/app and replace the old one velvet apk if there's any.
what u can do is move the GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk to a folder you know in case you need to place back again, and download and move this one Velvet-theos0o to /system/app and set permission just close and try the search button on your cell phone after a reboot
Thanks
are you properly logged in etc. on other google services?

Delete the googleserachbox.apk in data/app then rename the one in system/app. After that reboot to recovery, clear cache and dalvik then fix permissions and reboot.
yeah just remove the 1 after apk and remove any other velvet or search apk u had place in that folder /system/app
HELP!!
When i was running the RGUI ROM (JB) there was a fix zip to use in CWM to fix the 'Media' drain in the battery.
This worked wonders! So i just tried to flash it to my device again, except now i'm running the 'Anonorom' ROM.
It worked. Or flashed without error anyway.
The problem now is that since the reboot, the 'Fonts' have failed to be picked by my apps.
This is most noticibly with UCCW. The widget i created for the homescreen uses about 5 different fonts and its defaulted to 1 default font.
When i open the widget to change the fonts back, it tells me theres only 1 font available; "Default" and that if i want to add more then to put them in 'sd:\fonts'.
I've gone back to my file manager and checked this location and there are LOADS of fonts in there still, so its not as if they've been deleted.
Clearly this is the work of the fix_mediaDrain.zip, which i now obviously regret flashing. And WHO KNOWS what other errors i will now encounter!
So my question is, other than reflashing the ROM (which would be a pain because i've also flashed the JKay framework and other things like that, and amanaged to get the phone to my liking) does ANYONE know of a kind of UNDO fix for this fix_mediaDrain.zip that i can flash.
Obviously i dont even know if it exists,im just praying, but if anyone has any ideas i would greatly appriociate it.
I'm guessing the media scanner has been stopped, or a .nomedia file has been placed in the fonts folder.
So first check if there is a file called .nomedia in this folder and if so, delete it and reboot.
If not, then get rescan media root from play and try to enable media scanner and reboot.
Report back please

Firstly, thanks for your reply..
I've checked the location for a '.nomedia' file and no it does not exist.
I even checked 'Root Explorer' incase the file was hiddenin my regular file manager. Still nothing.
I downloaded the 'Rescan Media Root' app, which looked successful, but didnt fix my issue.
I tried a different app called 'media Rescan Lite', but that too did not fix the issue.
It's not looking good for me is it?
well the obvious path note really is to post in the Rom thread/contact dev and find out what the file does and how it can be reverted, let me know if you don't have enough posts and I will post link to your dilemma for you

I have contacted the developer of this fix to ask what it does exactly and if theres any way to undo the fix.
I have also added a post to the thread where this fix was first suggested to me in the past, incase anyone there might be able to shed some light on it..
I will post my findings once i ear back from anyone incase anyone else ever has this problem...
Thanks again.
SOLVED!!
I have managed to fix this problem!
This is going to sound RIDICULOUS but.....
I renamed the 'Fonts' folder on my sdcard slightly.
I say 'renamed', but all i did was make the filename all lowercase, creating "fonts" instead of "Fonts".
Then, IMMEDIATLY, the fonts on my widget wer back to normal..!
How very odd that this was changed by the 'fix_mediaDrain.zip' throgh CWM + reboot.
