Hi everyone
I tried searching but its seems not much talk about kernel manager...so i found this market there link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.asso.kernelmgr&rdid=com.asso.kernelmgr&rdot=1
its real? its working fine for this samsung AT&T Sgh i777??? with cyanogen mod 7 i guess (its android 2.3.7 for now)
I dont want mess it for mistake, but i would like to listen someone opinion about it.
Even because trying to search manual kernel im still noob and i dont understand at all which is compatible and where is new kernel update release....so this confuse me
Maybe with this manager kernel automatic should help me quite easy instead searching all site so hard.
Thank!
Alan

Hi guys
Sorry but i am a noob to all this so have proberly stupid questions.
After flashing to a customer rom i went back to a stock t-mobile rom. Problem i now face is when i try to download apps from other companies that are not on the app store eg mfortune they are unable to detect the type of phone i am using so i get "sorry we do not currently support your device" despite being able to do so before rooting and flashing. Is there a way i can change this with the release of skyGo on android this month i want to be able to download it. As it will be only on the galaxy s2 and HTC phones for some time i dont really want to wait.
Any help please???
Did you do a full whipe? Adding some details like model number, the rom you flashed and the one you came from may get you some more useful results.
As for the skyGo app, it won't take more than a day for it to pop up as an APK somewhere on the net.
Hello
Thanks for the reply i am currently in work so i cant look at my phone but will update on which firmware and kernal version i am running
I did however follow this guide to root reviews.cnet.co.uk/mobile-phones/how-to-root-your-samsung-galaxy-s2-50004972/[/url]
Not sure if that helps i did not however use the guide to flash the secure kernal maybe thats where i have gone wrong.
I will update the thread with the info later.
Thanks again
hey guys, i am a new user to android, and i really want to find a way to root my galaxy s2 !!! i cant seem to find any vid !!! i really dont understand anything about flashing roms, KDD, KL1 those stuff !!! if there is anyone to help me on how to root my S2, i would really appreciate it !!! i found alot of cool features after rooting. and i really hope i could bypass bricking
i found a DXKL3 insecure kernel... will it work ???
GsII Root
First you need to find the correct place your ROMS are located in this forum, you may have to search a bit for your Carrier Branded GsII. For example the GsII for Sprint is called the Epic 4G Touch. Dont get the wrong version for your phone or it could cause you problems as each carrier has a special hw version of each line of phones regardless if the manufacturer is the same.
You can user ODIN and load a stock-rooted ROM on the phone. Then use CWM once you get it rooted to load updates or new ROMS.
i got the international version, can you help me how i can root it ? its android 2.3.6
Use this link here to find your correct forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/#Samsung_Smartphones
I have the Galaxy Tab P1000L
I been trying to root it with Superoneclick and with DoomLord Zergrush, I keep failing all attempts, as I did research on this, I found out some info that says it is not possibe to root Gingerbread 2.3.6 (what I have) and that I need to dowgrade to 2.3.5 or to froyo (which is it?) , but SamMobile does not have Froyo available for download anymore...
So basically, I need to know how to root 2.3.6, main reason is I want to be able to change my Tab's HotSpot channel, and I read that this is only possible on a rooted GTab.
Thanks a lot for any help on this, I am new to Android, so trying to learn as much as I can.
( Secondary question: On a quick note, is it possible to upgrade to HoneyComb/is it worth it?)
Hope someone can help, I tried several things yesterday with no success, I had to stop for the day.
My P1000L is from Mexico Telcel with Gingerbread 2.3.6, I would like to downgrade to root, then either re-flash rooted firmware or move up to rooted Honeycomb if that is considered a better option, I am honestly not happy with Gingerbread WiFi performance at all, it wont auto connect to my home WiFi or hold a HotSpot sharing for long before it defaults to AndroidAP +default random password, bfore with Froyo I didnt have that problem. Just want to try custom firmware before I give u on it...
Thanks for any help on this.
Waited a few days but no answer, it must be too newb of a question, the fact is I am a newb at this, i'll try to do my 10 posts so I can do proper searches, this forum is huge.
At this point my better guess is to try downgrading to stock telcel P1000L firmware and then take it from there, GB 2.3.6 just not root friendly at all...
Still, if anybody can offer even a direction to go with this I will appreciate it very much...
