So i recently updated my Gingerbread Flyer to Honeycomb by following this instruction:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1358758
If worked fine
BUT
But then my genius brain decided to Restore the device with the former installed "Revolutionary" tool.
Due a compatibility problem my Flyer is now stuck on Bootscreen.
I tried to reinstall Honeycomb, but i can't do this without the system beeing started.
I am still able to enter Revolutionary by holding "power" and "volume down".
The same problem occurs to my tablet after using "Factory Reset"
Are there any other posibilities to reinstall my firmware ? respectively Honeycomb?
Thank you for your kind attention
You can download a HC ROM and mount in recovery then flash or you can fastboot flash honeycomb system
Sent from my Flyer using xda premium
So this would be my first choice ?

But i don't know where to put the zip file ?!
Can you help me ?
I am trying to flash the custom ROM by using fastboot
But fastboot does not recognize the downloaded zip on my sd card.
Where to put this correctly ?

I have HTC hero (bought in india).
i had updated it 2.1 using OTA updates.
Recently i rooted the devices using one touch and had installed Rom manager to put a recovery image of cynagoenmod recovery image.
and later when i tried to update the lock screen of vanilla using update method of recovery mode i happened to crash my Hero.
I have tried the following to get it working but all have failed.
1. Put the HEROIMG.zip on sdcard and try the HBOOT method. - failed.
2. tried the fastboot method using recovery image but got the no remote found error
3. using RUU RUU_Hero_HTC_WWE_2.73.405.66_WWE_test_signed_NoDriver which says USB connection errror.
now i need some help to get my Hero working. any help would be appreciated..please help me get this working..
Have you got the correct drivers for seeing the device in fastboot?
And same applies for RUU. ruu needs the htc sync drivers iirc
Have you gone back into your recovery and restored the nandroid backup? (which everyone should be making before doing anything to their system)
Assuming you haven't done this - couldn't you just go back into recovery - turn on the usb-ms setting and place a rooted update zip of which ever rom you want onto the sd card and flash that instead. You can even get official ones with root enabled (though i can't remember where I saw them).
Alternatively pulsar's method will also work - get the correct HTC Sync drivers installed (by installing the latest version) and you'll have the right drivers in fastboot mode so the rru should install.
1st thank you for ur response Pulsar and btdag.
My device shows in fastboot.
I have also have HTC sync installed.
but since my phone doesnt boot up i tried using the RUU with the phone in fastboot.
this give me USB connection error.
Then i disabled the firewall of windows 7, still no help.
Please let me know if i am doing anything wrong here..
another point , i had done backup when my phone was going in recovery mode.
but now when i try the home and power key devices stucks on exclamation ! screen which prompted me to go for RUU.
i havent done any goldcard backup as suggested in ur complete step by step guide.
If i put the update.zip on my sdcard i would need to be in recovery mode for installing that rt?
Also to mention the HBOOT mode doesnt recognize any zip...
Hi,
I traded a phone with someone and the rom they had was acting up.. the Infected Rom (cdma verizon)... When I got the phone, I told him he could keep his SD card and I could keep mine.. i guess the P something image file was on there and now Im just rooted with Teamwin recovery and not able to flash any rom or restore the Infected rom i nandroid backed up.
I have fastboot 1.50 S On but unlocked
Now imma be at work and not have a working phone. This isn't cool. PLEASE GET BACK TO ME IF YOU CAN HELP peeps. I would really appreciate it.
I also tried the unlocking method all over again but the Java SDK wont install.. it tells me to disable my virus protection (I did) and then it says unable to install it. This is just a mess man.

If you're interested in reverting back to completely stock, the RUU files are available at http://www.goo-inside.me/shooter/ruu . Both the PG86IMG.zip and the .exe files are available there.
Interesting the device is flashed to verizon, at least you mention the device is on CDMA verizon. The only issues I can forsee here will be 3G data/MMS might not work via Verizon if using a stock Sprint ROM.
Of course, these *might* work and they can also be *tweaked* but I doubt, out of the box, they will work. Phone calls and SMS should work over verizon using the stock sprint ROM.
Here is my usual lecture, reading this will save you a lot of time and headache, regarding flashing a ROM and kernels on the EVO 3D with hboot 1.5 and htc's unlock method:
Essentially, if you're looking to flash a kernel or ROM (which many times also include a kernel), there are three basic methods (two seem the easier) with hboot 1.50 and htc's unlock method:
1) For Kernel Flashing: From Android mode, using my application, Flash Image GUI. Put the kernel .zip file on your sdcard, select from inside the application and flash.
For ROM Flashing: Pull out the kernel file (usually named boot.img) out of the ROM .zip and push to sdcard. Flash using Flash Image GUI.
If you're away from a computer and want to flash any kernel, this is a great tool!
2) Load the custom recovery, NOT using the traditional method (reboot recovery, bootloader -> recovery, etc), but a specific method for Hboot 1.5. From the prompt use: fastboot boot c:\downloads\cwm-recovery.img.
This will temporarily boot the custom recovery image and the HTC unlock method will grant it write access to the boot partition while in this mode.
In this temporarily booted recovery mode, when a full ROM (with kernel included) is flashed, the kernel will flash correctly.
3) Boot into recovery using the traditional methods, reboot recovery, bootloader -> recovery, etc, and after the custom recovery has loaded, flash the ROM. Reboot into fastboot mode and then separately flash the kernel from the computer: fastboot flash boot c:\boot.img.
Downside to this method would be if a zImage is included instead of the boot.img for the kernel, won't flash correctly.
Being without a phone is rough now a days! Hope that helps and points in the right direction!
so sorry.. i meant to say CDMA Sprint.. i probably was so frustrated and typed verizon. I am about to read what you post completly.
Thank you so much for the reply! I purchased the GUI App from the market a few days ago and I wasnt sure if it would work on my phone because that PG86IMG.zip wasn't on the root of my SD card (it's on the other guy's sd card) I will try your method to flash a ROM.
I was able to get the Rom restored from the nandroid backup someone last night.. I still need a new rom because this one has touch screen problems. Thanks again
Hello huys, I have a problem with a Toshiba Folio 100. The Toshiba has the Dexter's Foliomod v1.4 ROM and I would like to install the clockworkmod porting recovery in order to try different ROM.
I've follow the instructions reported in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=923722
however it dosen't work. Once the system update starts, the exclamation mark appears almost instantaneously. I've googled a bit and every guide provide the same steps with no difference.
Any idea on what the problem could be?

Hello, to install clockworkmod porting recovery (I think 5.5.0.4 is newest) use fastboot command (I dont remember now) this maybe "fastboot delete recovery" and to install recovery "fastboot install recoveryname.img". Recovery image must be in folder together with fastboot or try to use C:/test/test/recoveryname.img(Didn't test this method)

Maybe a stupid question, but have you waited long enough?
First boot after installing a new rom can take a while
Sent from my GT-P7100 using XDA Premium HD app
ok, is no so stupid, in fact is a good question, but yes I awaited almost 1 hour... I can´t understand boot is ok to perform a download mode but it can´t get started.... and only worked with odin and stock roms.

Did you do a data wipe/factory reset before you started flashing?
I got the same situation with flashing cm9 because I didn't do a wipe.
you should use the Wipe.zip script to clean up all the trash in your tab to make sure you can actually flash the firmware correctly. I got a similar situation the first time I tried this stuff out.
Recently I had a "funnier" problem because I flashed official cyanogen on top of unnoficial and the results were corrupted video drivers.
easiest way for sure:
-download 3.01 from samfirmware.com
-flash everything from inside the zip (modem, tab and bootloader) with odin 1.83
-check if the tab works (if it's not, it's possibly bricked, see emergency repair down in my post)
-download clockwork recovery and a recent rom (if you want to use a specific rom take that one, if you just want root, take any recent rom)
-go in fastboot mode
-type "fastboot oem unlock"
-put the clockwork file "recovery.img" in your fastboot directory
-now type "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"
-then type "fastboot boot recovery.img"
-when booted in recovery, flash your desired rom
-If you just want root : extract the rom zip you dld and take superuser.apk from system/app and su from system/xbin, now put both in the same directory as adb (same one as fastboot), now type "adb push superuser.apk /system/app/superuser.apk" and then "adb push su /system/xbin/su", reboot tab and you have root on stock rom
EMERGENCY repair: if the tab does not start after flashing with odin, take a piece of strong tape and tape the power button so it's constantly pressed, leave the tab alone for 12 hrs, then charge it and pray it boots
No thanks needed
thanks
@richard: my file is fine , thanks for the link
@wiisper: how can I perform?? my fastboot mode is wipeless
@sjpedro22: how ca I fllash the wipe.zip, ODIN? musT I "PUSH" with adb?? where is wipe.zip?? (gracias)
@Psyloid: thanks!! usefull instructable but clocwork is not possible use because tab loses warranty...

Use fastboot to flash and boot a recovery like in the how to root thread. From there on you can do a factory reset.
If the wipe doesn't work you have to flash a stock rom.
Welcome everyone,
Last week I got second hand Asus Tf201. I was disappointed with the stock rom that was installed on it and I decided to do something with that. I have unlocked bootloader, unlocked root, installed twrp recovery and finally installed AndroWook rom. Then I made a full system backup with twrp. After all, I made a decision to install KatKiss. I have read that to do this I need newer recovery than I had before so I installed the newest version of twrp. Then the problem appeared. When I wanted to get into the recovery twrp asked me for password I had never set. I've read loads of many topic on many different forums about it but unfortunately I was unable to connect my Tf201 to PC because of the broken USB cabel. I have opened android terminal and changed the version of twrp to another but the problem didn't dissappear. By mistake I got into recovery and pushed the "wipe data" button, I even didn't know that it will erase all my data with OS from the device. Right now I'm stuck on twrp asking me for password, when I tap on cancel and get into the menu, then into "restore" it says that it's unable to mount external storage, on which I have my backup files. I bought a new USB cabel, PC sees it in adb, but actually I don't have the faintest idea what can I do more with it. I have already tried some different unbrick methods but some of them need nvflash installed, which I don't have. Could anyone please help me with my problem?
