don't use clockwork, use the amon recovery.
Use among ra recovery. Other that, how long have you let it sit at that screen? Sometimes it takes several minutes, just be patient.
Also, what rom, and are you on the new leaked firmware?
I could remote into team viewer on your computer and flash amon ra recovery on your phone and walk you through installing a Rom and kernel for you if you want.
But to properly wipe, it should be data, cache, dalvic cache, and system

i have tried using amon recovery and i get the same result.... i have let it sit for about 10 mins and nothing happens... im trying to flash scottsrom ics.. the latest one....

he doesn't need to be on the leaked ruu to use the ics roms. he can flash the old firmware patch too.
I have tried to find the leak ruu but I don't know where to find it and how to install it. I was reading about it earlier but I'm still a little iffy on how to do it ..

just be aware if you use it, your hboot will say "tampered" and you cannot roll back to GB firmware. if your new to this, id do alot of reading before attempting it. if you want a good GB based rom look into chingy's rom.

He can so that but its not supported by Scott so if he has any problems he wont get help.
Just because you are against flashing the leaked firmware doesn't make it bad.
To the OP, if you are uncomfortable with relocking your phone to flash the new firmware I would try one of the gb roms. The update for ICS should be anyday now.

he can also use rezrom which supports the old firmware with a patch. and we have no clue when the ota will be out. i never told him not to flash the ruu but if he doesn't know what he is doing i recommend he reads up alot. stop trying to contradict everything i say in every thread, it's getting annoying.

i know it was a noob mistake but i didnt make a back up, i was on stock, i unlocked the bootloader and then installed recovery and from there i erased system data cache dalvix or what ever its called, so pretty much i wiped clean then i flashed the boot.img to the phone using adb, then installed a ics rom rom and phone does not want to turn back on at all
i still am able to boot into fastboot and recovery, i reflashed CMW on the phone using adb while the phone was in fastboot thinking that would make a difference but it didnt, i also tried 2 other roms but with still no luck, im i doing something wrong here? i have s-on by the way!!
Thanks in advance guys!

Have you solved the issue?
If not what ROM were you trying to install?
edit: added this it might help u - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1575550
You need to specify the rom you were trying to install and when you say stock do you mean gb or ics? What I would do is install the latest leaked ics. You can find many tutorials on how to do that. Then once your phone is updated install eng hboot flash a recovery do a new ics rom
sent from my s-off HTC_Amaze 4g ICS OneGood Rom
If u have a recovery ur always able to fix it I've found. If ur flashing an ics Rom, I would follow the s off tutorial and once that is done, flash ur ics framework and Rom threw fastboot if u can't boot it or even recovery if u can still get there. If anything and ur still on gingerbread, find the amaze stock ruu, and "fastboot flash boot boot_signed" then Itl turn on
Another one of these threads? There are multiple threads about "How I Bricked My Amaze" if you don't want an expensive paper weight then I suggest browsing more often.
To flash an ICS Rom you need to be updated to the Official ICS or the Leaked ICS.
Certain threads even explain this before hand in their OP.
Failure to read has been the "IN" thing going on around these forums.
Not reading will get you bricked.

That isn't how you get to ICS - everything I know thus far says you are supposed to do it by flashing the leaked OFFICIAL image in the bootloader - do a LITTLE research(hint, everything ICS thread has the how-to like the second post). Perhaps there is a way to do it differently, but I have yet to find ONE set of instructions that say to flash it originally thru CWM. If you knew the right way, you'd already have it fixed.
At least you HAVE a recovery you can access - depending on the version of CWM it may not be the best one, but at least you should be able to access the bootloader-- but unless some other noob who had the same issue explains it to you by PM, that is about as much help as you are going to get - at least until anyone can tell you've done some research!
As Double0EK said, there is PLENTY of information that should be easy to find.
OP, have you figured out a solution?
Please tell us what rom ure trying to install and maybe we can help

Try to factory reset , wipe cache and install Rom again .
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA
The first time a newly flashed Rom boots up it can take a few minutes to start. Factory reset/wipe and restart the phone. Set it down and walk away for 5 minutes minimum. It can be hard to do with the anticipation but sometimes it just needs to be left alone till its loaded everything
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA
Don't panic you probably just need to install the kernel boot.img via fastboot.
Turge has provided some very nice instructions in his thread, here
Just make sure to use the boot.img from the rom your trying to install rather than the one in his tut. (it's in the romname.zip file)
Didn't you make a back up before flashing a custom rom? If you did, just try to restore it first.
You need more info about your setup: cdma/gsm, s-on/off, HTC unlocked/locked, hboot version, recovery, etc.
If u are hboot 1.50/HTC unlocked have a look at the guide in my signature.

Good point. U NEVER flash anything without a good backup. I leave the last 2 backups on my ad card and delete the oldest everytime I flash a Rom. That way if one is bad hopefully the other one isn't.

let start of by do you know how to get into recovery? did you follow instructions from site when trying to root? did you follow and understand all steps?
do you have a recovery software loaded like 4xt or clock work mod? do you remember doing a backup? if you can get into recovery then you can fix your phone and its far from bricked.
Is it still broken? have you fixed it and not updated the forum?

I flashed midnight ROM. put the AOSP theme over it. Flashed the newest MAC Kernel, and that's when it started happening.
I decided to factory reset and flash the ROM again, tried to restart. same thing.
restored a backup (after factory restting), no dice.
Wiped boot/data/system, factory resetted, wiped both caches and reflashed midnight ROM. Still nothing.
Tried to flash CM9 (after factory resetting and stuff) and it still won't go past the HTC screen no matter how long I wait.
What's wrong? Am I half bricked?
I'm using the Evo V with S OFF on downgraded HBOOT.
You need to downgrade your radios as well to flash aosp roms. Run an older RUU, which will set you back to stock, flash your recovery and then flash midnight again

Gotta go in the opposite direction with radios, downgrade. It'll make older roms compatible again.

So basically, upgrade my HBOOT (since stock is on a upgraded one) again and flash a stock ROM then downgrade again?
I was thinking of doing this, but why did this problem come up in the first place?
I can't do it because I don't have an extra SD card around. If I put the hboot upgrade on my SD card, the bootloader won't start up because it gives you the option to install it or not install and either way, it turns the phone off.
Got it figured out. When I flashed a different kernel, it broke the other kernel or something. I had to flash the ROM's kernel separately. I don't know why.
I'm not sure why, but it did. Anyways, it seems to be working now!

It works, don't know why it doesn't for you.
Other things you can try is flash boot.IMG through fastboot
Or using 4ext make sure smartflash is enabled and do a fresh install of your rom
Also you can flash some kernels through recovery

How long are you waiting for it to boot up? Remember it takes several minutes for a ROM to boot after a flash, so give it a bit and see what happens.

Maybe ill just have to stick with boring old sense 5 haha. i seriously have no idea why its doing this.
Did you unlock bootloader with htc utility? What did you use to gain s-off?
What version is your H-BOOT?
Some roms I was flashing checked for 2.10.0000 and rejected anything else, so when I upgraded to 2.10.5555, most of the kit kat rooms took a poop on me.
Not sure if this is still an issue though. I would imagine those errors were caused by the person compiling the Roms, but may have been resolved since.
