Is there an app for "audible selection" and "sound on key press" that will output different sounds like on anime or scifi movies w/ hacking or computers? I just think it would be cool. =]
Can someone make this? You can rip sounds from anywhere with Audacity. (My PC is down :[ )

give me some sounds and specify what they're for
and i can make a flashable zip for those :3
Having a hard time finding sounds. Typical bleeps and bloops from computers during animes. As for what they're for, noises when making a selection on home screen or elsewhere, and when typing making multiple bleeps. To simulate a fake hacking effect.

Ok, I know that title isn't necessarily clear but I couldn't think of something better.
Does anyone know of an app that will automatically adjust the sound settings based on a timer.
i.e. When I go to bed I'd like my phone to be on silent and then have the ability to switch to a normal sound mode at say 6:30 am, then switch to vibrate at 8am.
I think you get my drift. Anyone have any ideas about if there is something out there or if it's possible?
On another similar note is there anyway to have an app that performs the auto shutdown/boot like blackberry?

Audio Manager has a "scheduler":

I'm sure you have to get the "Paid" version tho

long press the settings key next to the microphone key on the keyboard and change to android keyboard then you can change the preferences
only if you dont mind the android keyboard
I figured it out, it was hidden deep in the settings. I hate andriods keyboards, they are all too slow. Even with this monster I type fast and I need something to keep up and Better can do that just fine.
can you let me know how you did it ? I would love to turn off the sound !!

i'm on absolution 3.7. how can i stop my phone from entering the lockscreen when a call is busy? when a call is busy, the phone goes to the lockscreen. how do i make it enter the dialpad instead?
I believe in the phone/Settings and should be an option on where to exit after call, at least there is on my IncS/ICS-4.0.4:thumbup:

hi, TheCrow.. can you tell me where in the phone settings i can do this? i cant find it. thanks.
On your phone go and push the phone icon and the dial/touch pad will be than at the bottom of the screen you have the 3 small touch horizontal lines that's your menu option, than after you touch that while in the phone dial pad you will see Settings and maybe 2-3 options down it asks something like where to exit to after phone hangs up so let me know if you find it ok

i think youre referring to the setting, 'return to dialer after call'. i checked and unchecked that option and it does nothing. it goes back to the lockscreen. but i noticed something interesting. when i call a busy number and i dont have the phone to my ear (screen is on), the call returns to the dialer. but when i have it to my ear (screen is off), then take it off my ear (screen is lit again), thats when it goes to lockscreen. theres got to be a way to edit a file to fix this sh'it, like, disable the lockscreen when the phone is on your ear (screen is lit).

yeah... absolutely.. how do we begin this? i'd like to 'star' it, like you said. what must we do first?
You should go through a recording of one run, say about 20mins or so while at same time performing acts that you feel made the issues and than when you go back to look at the record just look for 'error' areas in usually red color than take a screen shot of the highlighted error lines than post the screen shot and maybe we or others can look into it

I can't find a thread for this for the S3, how do I disable the damn camera shutter noise?
Also - the screenshots, anyone know how to make it how it used to be with the home and power buttons?

Yes there's a thread floating around, I can't remember exactly where it is. But use root explorer and edit the shutter.ogg file iirc

Anyone else?, this little puppy had been out a few weeks now!
Wasn't this made not changeable *atleast within the default app* because of something that happened in Europe. About no spy camera shots or something.. They wanted the noise so you couldn't take hidden pictures. Or something along those lines..
So if thats for Europe chances are they will include the option to disable it in the US varient right?
Screenshot works for me just like the s2 did. Home + power. They need yo be pressed at exactly the same time and held for a second or two.

I've tried /dozens/ of times - it simply doesn't work for me.
To disable the shutter noise you need to delete the audio files, which requires root access.
Is there a way without deleting the files? Just replacing the apk so I can have an option of sound out not sound?
you can use pretty much any of the other hundreds of camera apps in the market. most of them will correspond to the volume setting of your ringtone so if you set the system sound to silent they will have no shutter sound.
my least favourite thing in the whole world is shuttersound, except in burst modes.

thats beacuse in s3 you have to hold both buttons one or two seconds.
you can do it too by dragging the side of your hand through the screen from left to right
The sad part is that because of a few people that deteriate the gene pool, we have to put up with that damnable shutter sound.
Thing is, if we replace the camera with another one on the market, which one would be better - the built in one or the market one? Does the built in camera app make those great shots or the hardware?
Open Root Explorer - Navigate to /system/media/audio/ui
Mount R/W
Rename shutter.ogg to shutter.ogg.bak or just delete it.
To undo, just rename it back

To mute camera just mute the phone with your volume buttons.
Screen shot still works with Power and home button just push and hold them for a couple of seconds.

This solution is quite widespread online but many people say it doesn't work for them.
I can confirm it's working for me - 16GB, pebble blue, Vodafone, UK - but it seems different markets can't stop the shutter sound this way.
Is there really no way to disable it without root
You want part 2 of this thread

Like the title says. I don't see an option for shutter sounds in the camera.

So there is no option withing the camera to always have the shutter sound off like in the Galaxy S?
The shutter sound is still on when the sound is turned off, looks like some morons @samsung simply forgot to integrate it. I am really annoyed by this "feature"
Can someone hack this please?
(or simply add a button or so)
Just go to /system/media/audio/ui/
And move shutter.ogg someplace else. Or rename it. I just deleted it
I think they didn't include the setting because it is illegal for a digital camera to take silent photos in some countries.

How do you do that because I get 'file system is read-only' ?
Ok never mind i just figured it out myself. I had to do a mount r/w to gain access to file shutter.ogg in root explorer.
I can confirm it, it works fine!

How do you delete the file on a non rooted phone without that app?
For rooted users
How to enable on/off button for Shutter sound:
Edit /system/csc/feature.xml with text editor of choice.
Add following lines:
<!-- Enable/disable the camera shutter sound -->
<CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>true</CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>
Reboot, Voila, now you can enable/disable shutter sound from camera menu. (I'm on BLG8)

I was watching TDKR in Imax the first day it got out then a sexy girl with her snacks comes right in front of my row and I had to take her pic discreetly but suddenly sergeant stupidity arrived and there goes my ever so glorious bright flash and soundful cam sound. She had eye contact with me and smiled and I was like blushing and laughing, something like that will be ingrained into my memory forever. Sorry I just had to share that hahaha....
