Every time I install a new app from any where even from the market I get the message :
Process system not responding
Force close or wait
This message even comes when I uninstall an app
And it's with me on many roms
Cm7 by FAT and vo1 both
Infintyfinal etc
Does anyone have any idea why this is happening pls share your thoughts...

I have had this issue after using a couple of roms for one month... Wasn't able to solve it though.

Hmmmm mostly no
Cuz earlier I had not partitioned my sd card and all apps were normally installed
But in that rom I don't remember the name I had deleted some useless apps from system/app which I wouldn't use.... Does deleting any of those apps can cause this problem?
But with a different rom and nothing deleted it still happens

Low memory, or your sdcard speed maje fc your phones. Try to repartition and format your sd. Another option buy new sd.

I had the issue on ics final and v1 too I guess!
Try ODIN flash to stock, and check whether apps install, then flash any ROM and check again.

Can someone help? Want to flash CM7 and from searching the forum I belive it works like this:-
I have installed cwm. Made a backup. Then factory reset/wipe cache. Flash cm7 and fixes from recovery.
This leaves me with a couple of questions:-
Im running 2.3.6 KPP - can i flash over that?
What is the most stable CM7?
How can i convert the file system back if I want to go back to stock?
If all goes wrong will the cwm backup restore firmware or just apps?

1. Yes. Compatible with all basebands, supposedly
2. IMO, Grif's CM7. But jusada's Ice Cream Sunday Final/Speed Blur is stable enough for daily use, even though it has its perks.
3. You can restore your backup you just did or flash a stock ROM via Odin.
4. It will restore everything. Literally everything.
Your /system which your previous ROM's settings and apps, /data which has your previous ROM's app data, your /cache which has your cache (who knew?) and other partitions.

> USB Tether. Because GB AOSP doesn't have USB tethering, and CM7 is based on GB AOSP, you won't have that integrated into the system. You can still download a USB Tethering app, of course
On CM7.2 and ROMs based on it:
> Wireless. It may or may not connect to a specific APN. This is an inconclusive bug since only specific people have it (and there seems to bo no apparent pattern to it). Several speculate it to be in the MODEM part of the Ace.
On ICS (these are not bugs, merely effects of ICS being a barebones ROM)
> No torch
> No live wallpapers
> No DSP Manager
> No Spare Parts or Dev Tools

Nope, not without you telling us what rom you where on, and what rom you flashed.
Also if its a custom rom its more than likely the thread you got it on lists what had been removed and how to put it back.

At first, I changed to yakka rom v4 then I found that the samsung apps is missing..
Then I changed back to the initial rom which is criskelo rom v34
and the samsung apps is still missing until I restore back stock rom,
then I found my samsung apps.. But it disappear again when I changed to yakka rom..
That's the story.. And I can't find the solution for the problem..
This will probably be because the new ROM has had the taken out by the Dev thats why you cant see them.You can download them from here clicking on the blue link next to each app you want.

The real solution would be for you to have read the rom builders description of each rom .
Most devs remove Samsung Apps as a waste of space to build a lighter rom .

If you check in the threads, where will most likely be flashable zips with the removed apps to put them back. (I found one in the Criskelo thread for example)
As far as the apps on the spreadsheet, they might work but I dont know which rom they are from, and what version they are, best idea is to get them from the rom thread.
Or use a different rom that doesn't remove anything.

Sure, but the devs mostly want to build fast and light ROMs and as you see you still have options to get the Samsung Apps; propably you find the same info in all of the ROM threads

Hey i'm on cm9 (one of the latest builds). Stock kernel.
I just noticed that several of my apps like frontline commando, tank hero: laser wars, ringtone maker, skyrise runner etc., disappeared from my app drawer.
In the manage apps section in settings, they appear with a grey icon with sd written on it and a name like "com.xxx.yyyzz" instead of their proper name. And their size are shown as a few kb.
This is not because I flashed a ROM.
I've tried rebooting. I think the CWM backup i created was after this happened since this issue is there even after i restored it. Has anyone had a similar experience?
Is there a solution to this? i really hope so because some apps like frontline commando are reaaally big, so a pain to download again.
Do ask if you need more details to determine the issue here.

Firstly cm9 is not a stable rom,so i prefer you to install resurrection remix. and im afriad if the apps show as grey they have been corrupted or accidently deleted. backup the apps which are working with titanium backup. full wipe external and internal sd and install resurection rom. its a loong process but will saveu from this prob

Yes but has many tweaks. Plus if you run into problems they have the best support out of any rom. Westcrip updates the rom almost weekly and if there's issues gabowinter or any of the dozens of other people will find a solution. Give it a try

Was happening same to me on stock ICS, so I don't think it's ROM related. From feedback I got here seems like corrupted SD. They suggested to fomat them but it didn't help. At the end I needed to do full wipe to sort it for good. So I suggest backup all with Titanium and do the same.

Same problem on stock gs2 running ICS updated by samsung as (as i had a problem) it is not modded in any way and i have just had a new sd sent from samsung as the last one died so a full wipe seems a bit silly.
Full wipe of the phone not SD card.

GIve more details on which app are you talking about so that anyone here might be able to help you with your issue
The app was boat browser and the go launcher gesture, but i cleared dalvik cache and now it's working, let's see for how long and if clearing cache will do...
I'll post again if the problem comes back
I flashed the v2.0 Xgamer rom and now i get this message when i try to install titanium backup and kingsoft office... already tryied clearing dalvik...

I was testing a JB rom and then i got back to X-Gamer. But as soon i flashed the rom and tried to download titanium backup to get my apps back, i got this same rror, but this time with EVERY app in market. I changed the rom to ATOMIC 7.0 and the same error appears.
Seems it's not a rom problem now, how can i fix this?

So I am a huge fan of Android and the development community here
I don't like Apple at all, however I keep having to switch back- because their product is far more stable
Now- I'm using rXtreme v12, and nobody else using the ROM is encountering the of crashes I am having. I've uninstalled some mod's (like CRT-off) and several app's I felt may have caused it. I'm not using any theme's, and I'm not running NovoLauncher.
Crash= phone reboots instantly (no warning) then freezes at startup. Battery remove required.
The only evidence I can link to the crashes (phone worked perfectly until this began happening):
The stock browser began to 'forget' me- Google asking me to sign in at the home page even if I haven't exited the browser, and my never rebooting to my browsing sessions.
Otherwise the crashes are completely random- pressing the back button whilst listening to music, responding to a message, closing an application etc. They occur 1-3 times a day.
I had an 8GB MicroSD card, and I've just replaced it with a brand new 64GB one- so I don't think this is the problem.
I've read through the freezing thread, and I am based on the "most stable/crash free build (XXBMF1).
I've been using it (well, without a SIM card because I can't afford to be using an unstable phone as it's for business) for about 3 months, and I've been through multiple versions of the rom, and done countless wipe's, and re-installs.
Is there some error logging app I can installed to try and narrow down this issue? What else can I try?

Do you mean that the entire phone crashes and reboots, or just a particular message pops up

Im not ready to give up on this rom yet- a vert last resort
I use this ROM for these features:
- Supports LogMeIn
- Supports MultiWindow
- Long hold button light/music changer volume buttons
- Battery saving features
- S tweaks (volume boost)
- Titanium backup
- Mega Bass beats
So the browser issue I mentioned (how it doesnt store my sessions, or remember im logged in with google)- does that not link to some other problem?

there are other Roms that support some of those and if you mod then there are mods for 5 of all what you said though i don't know what Logmeln is as for the browser you could simple use another one

I've got a copy of LogCat and I'm recording. I guess all I can do is wait for the error? I'm trying to force it somehow.
Try another rom all this stuff you want you can get easy using/flashing some mods or download from playstore. Do some research on what you like really in a rom not just a part of it and flash it.
In your world I would be considered crazy, in my world too but they know me here at least.
So nobody can make any link my browser issues with my crashes? Please try. Before I switch roms can we figure out this problem first?
I've just wiped and installed a full new rom (rextreme 12 using jkay) and the stock browser still keeps asking me to sign in, and doesnt remember sessions! Very frustrating... surely if nobody else has this problem- it means something is wrong. Please help

Is that rom for I9300 ???
Suggest you totally wipe phone and sd card .
Flash stock rom and test browser .
Root
Flash a basic custom rom like [ROM] i9300xxufme7 pure stock from samsung

It looks like I've resolved it myself.
I installed rXtreme 12, but this time I used jkay (not samsung stock). What is this- the kernel?
So far it's been a bout 4 days of heavy use, and no crashes. My browser still doesn't remember my sessions, but I'll just have to find an alternative.
Does jkay still have the battery optimization built into this rom?
