I'm using the hd dock as a charging station / alarm clock, I have a set of speakers connected to the dock, but I cannot get any phone specific audio to use the external speakers. Music plays fine, but alarms etc. still use the regular phone speaker and I need for it to use the external speakers. Has anyone found a way to do this?

My first post. Just wondering if anyone else who has the car dock has the issue that I'm having. When I am playing music from both the stock music player or Power Amp and take the phone out of the dock, the music doesn't pause but transfers to the phone speakers.
Is there any way to mod the car dock to pause the music when disconnected from the dock?

Same thing on mine. I think it used to pause on the original ROM, but started transferring to phone speaker after 1.5.7 update, but I am not %100 sure about this.
First off I have this mount. My Rezound is Stock. I can stream music through a cable but not voice calls. I cannot get the Bluetooth to work while it is in the dock. I can tell it to send it to BT but no sound comes through. I would really like to get Voice to come through my car speakers but I can't find any settings.
You said you've tried headphone jack plugged into car stereo via cable? Works fine for me using the same dock , stock and rommed, both before and after i uninstalled the dock program that was annoying. Has on all 3 of my android phones, usually with no dock. Have music or podcasts going, call comes in, shoots right through stereo. Bluetooth may be funky depending on how its setup with the car, stereo, or other device.
If a cable is not working, i'm baffled. Your stereo would need to be set to the "aux" input of coarse, and the cable plugged into to stereo/phone.
But how about the BT setup, what are you using for that?
That dock should have no impact on your BT connection. When you connect to your BT device, go into Settings, Wireless & Networks, Bluetooth Settings, find your device down at the bottom you're connecting to, hard press on it and select Options..., make sure both phone and media are checked under Profiles.
Yeah, for Bluetooth music streaming in my car I also had to tell my car to connect portable music player. Then I got the music working through my stereo in addition to the phone calls.

So, I'm considering getting a nice little sound dock for my nightstand in order to get better sound while in bed, relaxing, or whatever, and I've seen mention of some docks with bluetooth.
This may sound stupid, but how exactly does that work? Can the phone send your music via bluetooth to the sounddock, and you control it via the phone with whatever media player you're using? If so, is the Galaxy Note I717 capable of this? Or do bluetooth sound docks just read your music from your phone via bluetooth and you use controls on the dock to play the music?
For what ever reason any alarm app I've tried, refuses to play on connected, external speakers... The port works fine... I can play music to the same external speakers via a music app (e.g. play music, playerpro), and watch videos fine. However of all the alarm apps I've tried, (default, alarm clock X, alarm clock pro) all refuse to use the external speakers and play on the phones rear speaker... For clarification, i am refering to speakers connected via the 3.5mm audio port and yes, the connected speakers are externally powered.
I have used these same alarm clock apps before (droidx) and they used external speakers fine... Is there a setting in the phone I am missing somewhere? Does anyone NOT have this problem? If so what alarm app are you using?
I've searched around (ALOT) and found nothing, please forgive me if I missed an already existing thread about this...
Any and all help will be greatly appreciated!
Bunni-
bump , anyone
Bump, seems its notifications as well... For example, while speakers are plugged in via the 3.5mm jack, sounds like the beep played while adjusting volume (via the volume buttons on the side of the phone) play via the phones speaker and not the attached external speakers....
Anyone have a way to change this functionality?
Hey, I got one of the usb/aux cables from Amazon and I was able to get the audio to play out through the usb running perseus kernel but I can't get call audio to come through.
I did a ton off searches and came up with an old s3 topic existing that Samsung has a block on the phone's ability to play call audio through usb in dock mode (car) but the thread's been dead for a while has anyone been able to play call audio through the docked speakers?
