Mini Pro bricked, please help :) - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

My sister had her Mini Pro bootloader unlocked by someone at the local market. She then did an OTA update a couple of weeks later and ever since it hasn't turned on!
I plugged the PC USB cable in and the green LED comes on and the computer recognizes 'SEMC Flash Device'.
Any ideas?

I am downloading Flash Tool to see if that helps

Im looking at this guide now
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1553601

At least once a week somebody FOTA briks XMP ..
you have to relock bootloader.
here is the tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16659481&postcount=33
don't forget to flash .368 FW before relocking

Unlocked bootloader and OTA update bricks the phone.
Check my tutorial, click in my signature, there is a guide to unbricking your Xperia phone.

I followed this post then rebooted my phone and it now works again. No data loss at all

[TUT] How to root 2.3.3 Xperia Neo with lock bootloader

Great news for Xperia Neo User
After several try, i successful root 2.3.3 Xperia Neo
First at all thank to kistigun and kokbiel for discover this in Xperia ARC, therefore i take this as a credit for them
If you are Neo user i believe u have go through this page
[TUT]
But if you try that, i ensure you that you may brick your phone, as that tutorial is for Xperia Arc only. So this is how to root your NEO.
Basicly is using back the same way like Xperia ARC, just you change the firmware to M15 instead of L15. i copy entire thing from Kistigun step in here
...........................................................................................................
Do not try this if you have an unlocked bootloader or if you dont know what your doing! I'm not resposible if you break or brick your phone!
If you're allready on a rooted .181 and OTA update is available for you just update your firmware. If there is no OTA update available for your customazation version follow these instuctions:
- flash back to M15 3.0.A.2.181 generic with the flashtool
- Use Gingerbreak or Superoneclick to root your device
- Update your Xperia Neo using a OTA(over the air) update(Go to settings->About phone->Software update)
- Enjoy your rooted 2.3.3!!!
Update 1: it seems that the OTA update is not working if you did any modifications to/deleted system files so it's adviced to always flash the .181 firmware provided in this post
Update 2: if you have any battery problems after flashing the .181 firmware(if it's only showing 1%) removing the battery for a few minutes should solve this
Update 3: thanks to ricstc we now have a video tutorial on how to follow these instructions
Update 4: if you want you can keep your user data by unchecking the whipe user data in the flashtool while selecting the correct ftf file. this will cause a lot of error message's on 2.3.2 but just click them away and continue the procedure, after upgrading again to 2.3.3 the error message's will be gone!
Update 5: IF some of you unable update the via OTA, don worry, restart the phone and left it 1-6 min, and try to update again.
M15 3.0.A.2.181 Generic Rom
How come the neo doesn't have a section of it's own?
Sent from my R800i using XDA App
it looks that file with .181 is no longer available from this Chinese site...
Thanks!! is great =)

Just add a few lines from my experience.
The booting after OTA upgrade seems to go forever. After a looooooong time it just greyed.
(I cannot believe) it's not bricked. Just knock off the battery and put it back. This time the rebooting will be done in a flashy manner.
Now a pop-up will welcome you to the world of Android 2.3.3 with root privilege.

Hello guys,
I really need some help!!
I've started this but after "found on usb..." it gave an error and told me to turn on the phone...
But the phone does not turn on!! I press the power and there is the small vibration but nothing happens. All stays black screen.
Can anyone help me please?
Thanks.
I've sorted this out! Had to use a special shielded microUSB cable to be able to complete the update using SEUS without loosing connection.
About flashing, I had no luck. Always the same error asking to alow untrusted apps and usb debugging...
Anyone did this with success?
Hello,
Can we apply the M15 3.0.A.2.181 on a MT15a phone?
Thanks
Hi,
Which version of FlashTool did you use, 0.2.9.1 beta or 0.2.8 stable ?
I used the beta one.
After that, I did try with 0.2.8 but the samething happens.
Are there permissions needed on the mobile to flash it?
I've sorted this out! Had to use a special shielded microUSB cable to be able to complete the update using SEUS without loosing connection.
About flashing, I had no luck. Always the same error asking to allow untrusted apps and usb debugging...

Edit:
Just to let everyone know that I've managed to get rooted! Thanks for everything...
By the way, GingerBreak took 35 munites before shutting down!
I'm also stuck with black screen, any help???!!!! how did you pul it off??

The problem I had was related with flashing crashing in the middle of the process...
So, I tried times and times (about 35 or 40) and finally, the flashing completed with no errors.
Honestly, it took many times as sometimes the computer would not recognize the phone, and I had to unplug and replug the usb cable again.
After that, I did use a bettermicro USB cable to do all the procedure as explained on the first topic and all was successfull. I still did has 3 or 4 errors but I started over till it completes with no error.
I am now convinced (after some experiences on this same Neo) that different computers or windows versions may have an influence as on my laptop I get many less erros than on the desktop. Both using Win7.
And on the last weekend, at my friend's XP it did flash at first with no errors at all (coincidence?).
Hope this helps.

for the flashing part, if u follow the video tutorial closely should be no problem

Hi... 3 posts before the one you quoted I'm letting everyone know that I'm rooted already.
Those USB and Trusted warnings are 'default'? error messages that flashtool displays on unexpected errors, I think...

i need to disagree. i cannot root my neo using gingerbreak if not unlocking bootloader. if i use different method using superoneclick, it will give an error something like this: cannot mount /system
so what i did:
1. unlock bootloader.
2. run gingerbreak, it will rooting less than 3 minutes comparing to locked bootloader, taking forever
3. locking back the bootloader.
4. update.
after the updating process, i get android 2.3.3 with root enabled.
@ mohdazuan
If you already unlocked your bootloader, why didn't you just use DooMLord's kernal and flash the latest firmware? You anyway wiped the DRM files. So there's no point in actually relocking it unless of course it's to use SEUS.
thats the point, i just want to use SEUS
i did the bootloader unlocking at the first time because want to flash custom rom using fastboot before finding out that rooted 2.3.2 can be updated to 2.3.3 without losing root access.
anyway i don't care about DRM since my digital contents is not all "right"

Fota unbrick

Here is something to repair your bootloader after a FOTA update and phone iIn the package you have flash tool and the files you need.
Just unzip to a folder and then use flash tools.
The needed files are in the right folders.
After this you should have your phone fully back for a fresh rom install.
Use wotanserver to flash a full custom rom of your choice.
http://www.mediafire.com/?h2dwrz18mujx765
it exactly for these files
is compatible with other firmware?
file (Xperia_2011_Range_FreeXperia_ALL.ftf) that function does?, I think that fixes an error
for all xperia range
Please can you explain better for neophytes, as I understand many do not
There´s not much to explain, this .sin and ftf files repair the damage bootloader and the trim area.
If you ´re unable to start phone after a fota update with unlocked bootloader.
Just plug the phone and connect it pressing back button in your xperia neo and press flash on the flashtool. And voila you have you phone live again.
Thanks, now if I understand it, since I have opened the bootloader release your contribution if you ever need it

It works!!! TY!!!
It´s good to be helpfull man, fota brick is a serious issue. I´m glad to share this. Don´t forget to click on thanks buttom.
Thank you very much for this. It helped me to restore my brothers Neo that got screw-up after unsuccessful FOTA update.
Tried it on my MT15i NEO that got bricked after FOTA yesterday, but doesn't work for me.
I managed to get the 2 files flashed, after, i use wotan to restore latest firmware.
When I try to turn the phone on after this process, only red led flashes 3 times.
SEUS and SE Companion tells me I have software that isn't updatable.
Any other idea's to get my phone back alive?

If you flash the files and wotan recognises your phone and flash´t then your phone is ok.
Try to flash´t first with any 2.3.2 stock rom.
Just used wotan to flash 2.3.2 - 3.0.A.2.181 ROM, but problem stays the same.
After pressing the power button, only the led flashes red 3 times and nothing else happens.
Starting in flash programming mode is difficult too(the back button while connecting the USB). I guess 1 time in 50 tries I get a green led and flashing begins, other times it's just a quick red blink and unrecognised USB device.
I can't access the fastboot blue led mode anymore too (holding menu while connecting USB)
Are there some other options that I can try?
Edit:
Finally got it working after leaving the phone alone to the laptop for half an hour.. Phone just started to boot out of itself.. Very slowly.. it stayed on the SE boot logo for about 5 minutes. After restart and upgrade to latest stock with companion; it works okay again.
Thanks for helping me out!
I´m glad your phone is back, try to update it normally now to 2.3.4 and see if the blue lite is back.
Give us here in forum your feedback because this may be helpfull to other users.
I updated to 2.3.4 with SE companion software already and all seems to work okay!
Just tested the blue led/fast boot mode and it works again too.
This is the first and last time i'll do a FOTA upgrade without reading the forum!
Thanks again

[HELP] Unbrick neo after ota update

So this is my friends phone, he received a notification that there was a newer android version available and if he wanted to update. I had advised him not to update this this way (OTA?), but he couldn't resist.
It had stock 2.3.3, and it was unlocked following Alejandrissimo's method (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254416)
Now it does not boot up, nothing happens if you press the on/off button
What do you advise me to do?
If possible I would like to put S.E.Tweaked rom v 0.7 and Inteks kernel v15 inside
So far I found this, should I follow first or second guide? Any other ideas?

2 [How-to] Repair Damaged Bootloader + Trim Area [Red Led][Unknown Device]
by Alejandrissimo
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254409
Sometimes we can brick our devices by a bad unlock, flashing process, or simply bad luck.
The phone doesn't turn on and there is a Red Led Of Death when pressing power button. Even with a GREEN led when we plug the phone with back key pressed the computer detect the phone as "unknown device" so there is no chance to get fixed by Flashtool or SEUS/PC Companion.
Well this problem normally means that the bootloader is broken or damaged. So, in order to fix it we need to write a new SEMCboot and after this we were able to flash a full and fresh firmware with flashtool and unbrick our Xperia.
This process like unlocking process requires SETool dongle/box and a paperclip to make a testpoint to put the phone in flash mode and be able to write the SEMCBoot.
I can help to anyone with a bricked Xperia Arc/Play/Neo/Pro just make send me a PM.

Every rom is suitable and fast depending on user as to what he s happy with.. There can be no suggestions on this.
Integrate sd card to internal memory yes it is possible. Partition ur sd card to ur desired size in ext2/3/4 or fat32 format and use cronmods script. Google it. You'll find easily.
Integrate portion of sd card to ram yes thats possible too. Its known as swap partition. Use ram expander app from playstore. Keep in mind virtual ram is 10x slower than actual ram. Google it for more info.

The point is, you shouldn't relock if you use test point method. If you relock with some other flashable kernel or some sort, than obviously you made a mistake. Try to flash the ftf from any of the ftf of stock rom available here (sorry i'll post a link after I get into my computer). You can search for it down in this forum.
