PS3 controller dock [Finished] - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

This is a project I started on once I realized a Wiimote won't work on the Note. Now, however, it is finished, and it works great. I'm going to cover the Legos in carbon fiber vinyl to keep the black theme going.
Used lots of super glue and 3M tape.

Looks to be the cheapest that you can get. This WILL NOT protect your tablet with anything.
well if you want your tablet to look cute at home go for it, if you want to protect it go for something else.
I bought the green one. It is nicer quality than I expected. I plan to use a tpu case and then stash it in there to protect the screen in my bag. The foam is thicker than it looks in the pics.

Stripped Bezel Mod.

So, a while back, a few people mentioned dinging or scratching the bezel around the screen to find it was metal, and from there a few people asked if anyone had gone so far as to strip the paint off to reveal the metal. Ala: iPhone silver bezel style.
Well, I did just that. I have the pix posted over on Infected Forum.

I thought about doing this after my phones paint started fading but it ended up breaking and got a replacement. How did you removed the paint? I was going to try some kind of paint remover so the metal doesnt get scratched up or maybe buff it off with a dremmel fabric tip. The metal under there doesn't look uniform or is that due to the way you took the picture? I think also shoulda left the one by the camera button and switch black.
EDIT: NM about my question of how you did it, I just read the rest of the other thread to see exactly what you did.

I thought about a paint remover but was hesitant of that with the screen and such. I'm good with a Dremel, so I used that. I also figured the tip I used was going to cause an uneven look, which is what I was... Not "hoping for" but figuring would.happen and was prepared to go on to the next step of getting that out. But I liked the raw look that happened and wanted to keep it. Kindof looking forward to it oxidizing. Lol.

Holy crap!
I didn't realize the bezel was metal.
I did this with my hd2 battery door and it created a mirror finish. I just might yet do this again seeing as I have all the old supplies...
600,800,1000,1200,1400,1600 grit metal sandpaper, metal polish creme, rags, and an hour or two of time.

No, you see there are other comments that aren't positive. They also aren't **** about it. Constructive criticism is welcome. I get that it won't be loved, most would prefer the shiny approach, of which, I'm sick off and prefer gritty, old, industrial look.

Made it. Used 3M carbon fiber adhesive and a hair dryer to make it super pliable and stick much better.

Neat idea. I would like to see a red bezel if anyone has done it. Match the camera trim on the cdma model. That might be something I would do if it looked good.

Just bought the barely There regular one. Love it. Have the Otterbox Commuter as well. Does it kill GPS and cell signal like others posted?
I haven't noticed any difference in signal loss.

I have the same case but in silver. I did notice my GPS position was off with the case on.
I have this case in gray. After one drop and general wear and tear it started to crack. Plus the brushed aluminum back began to peel off. If you're going for looks though it's a great case.

DNA BodyGlove Dropsuit Case on sale!!!

Just a heads up. I discovered it, just browsing the threads. I saw bodyglove had a case. i searched it, and directly from their site, the case is only $6.25 with free shipping :good:. Here's the link. http://www.bodyglovemobile.com/catalog/htc-droid-dna,122.htm
I ordered 1, so I'll give my personal opinion after I receive it. I currently use the otterbox, but i hate the bulk. I figure for 6 bucks, I'll try it.
COUPON ODES STILL WORK THANKS NIMRODSV AND BIGJEW92. They have to be entered in all caps. BGMAF15 15% BGMPAY25 25%. You can only use 1. I just tried them both.
also, use coupon code BGMAF15 and get an extra 15% off so the total comes to $5.76 with free shipping! woohoo
Just got it today. I actually ordered it last Thursday. Feels nice on the phone. No bulk. I just hope it holds up to drops half as good as the otterbox. Now I need to order a screen protector. I forgot about it because the otterbox came with it. I like it so far.. Good job BG.

Ordered one yesterday. I've been looking for a case. I have some concerns about this one that I'm not sure are valid (can't feel it so I don't know). But even if I don't like it, it's only $6.

Its pretty smooth. Has rugged edges, it doesn't stick to my pocket like some rubbery cases. Its like a tpu case, except has more of a hard plastic case feel. I watched a couple YouTube videos on it before I ordered it. I like it so far. Hopefully I don't have to drop test it before I get my screen protector. Hope this answers your questions.

I've been meaning to get an Otterbox case as I have 3 for my iphones(love those Otterboxes). This looks like it may be cool to use in the meantime.
I've been using this case since I got my phone, and I have nothing but good things to say about it. Note that the rear notification light will be covered by the case, but the material is easy enough to drill a hole through.
Thanks for this! Everyone needs to see this! Just ordered mine last night!

Just got it in the mail today. Overall, I think its pretty nice. A great deal for the money. I like that Volume and Power still feel like buttons. I also like that the sound flows better when the phone is on it's back.
Just ordered! thanks for sharing this great deal!
Use BGMPAY25 to get 25%
Comes outs 4.69$
Love this case, for some reason makes the phone feel thin, and offers great grip and doesn't get finger prints or smudges, body glove did a great job on the drop suit.

Walnut Case Mod

I've been meaning to do this for some time so with the wife away for the weekend I decided to give it a try.
I already had some walnut veneer in so soaked it for a while to begin bending it into shape. Some UHU and a few hours later. Plus a few beers. And here are the results. It's not perfect, unfortunately the veneer split slightly but it's better than i thought it would be.

That's pretty slick. I was thinking about painting my back with fleck stone to make it less slippery.
How did you do the cut outs? Did you use a drill press or just freehand it with a wire saw?

Funnily enough, i tried painting it first. I used etch primer and did it matt black. It was ok but not great so I used acetone to take it off and tried a light fleck stone aerosol. It takes a long time to dry. I wasn't sure about it. Again, it was ok but when I used it, the fleck started to wear off around the edges. I could have protected it with a coat of spray matt varnish like I did with the walnut but I'd already decided to take it off.

Just used a stanley knife blade and some needle files. No drilling. A razor blade might have been better but might have cut the ABS case by accident.

Really nice looking! Wish i had the skills to make one myself. Great job!
Nice Job! You should be proud of your work! It's certainly nicer than those commercially available wood covers posted in this thread.
