New A2SD (M2SD) script with configuration options (solved cache CM7 problem) - Optimus One, P500, V General

ONLY FOR CUSTOM ROM
Found this new great script.
All consideration goes to the dev who built it and still supports it, so go and thank him.
Cmdalvik command solved not loading apps issue on ungaze and hopefully the botloops problems. So test, thank the guy and report back to his thread so he can make it better if needed.
I tested and it works fine on O1.
After flashing it needs to be enabled (see configuration commands)
After enabling dalvik cache apps already installed won`t start, so you need to enable cmdalvik also and apps will load properly after reboot.
Here you go

So, do I have to enable both dalvik and cmdalvik?

I had tried this script earlier on cm7. I was getting boot loops all all the time.

CM Dalvik - m2sd cmdalvik <enable/disable>
For some reason, the CM Team has come up with this fun idea to place the dalvik cache for all system apps in /cache/dalvik-cache instead of /data/dalvik-cache with the rest of it. This is especially fun when you have a cache size of 5mb, because then there is not enough space to build the dalvik-cache and you end up with these really funny reboot loops. However, if you are some boring person that does not find these reboot loop's fun, you can enable cmdalvik to fix this problem. It will force the dalvik-cache in /cache to be placed in the correct /data path among the rest of the dex files.

Yup, i got bootloops too. That was not solved. It is recommended not to use sd ext more than 1 GB, set with other recovery than CWM which is buggy.

New Android Market 3.1.6

http://db.tt/D3arOpGU
This is the new android market. This has a footprint of about half the size as v3.1.5 and it is apparently a lot smoother.
Just flash that zip in recovery and your golden.

How do I get in on this huddle? I already asked but that one may have just been a hoax.

This market is questionable and picky. Worked for me but not for others. Because the sig is funky you had to replace the old market. Thats why the zip. Reflash the gapps package.

My market keeps crashing as well. I tried to reflash the market 3.1.6 and the 8-28 gapps but it's still f/cing

Wipe cache and dalvik, Reflash the gapps package then fix permissions. It fixes the issue. The reason why it is FC is because of the permissions being messed up

I tried that and its still a no go.

Ok, after you do all that use root explorer if you have it or file expert if you don't and manually check the permissions of the thing. As a last resort. Which will fix it because it'll clear everything.. Lol, is do a FULL DATA RESET, including wiping /system its under the wipe menu in twrp

Please note that by doing that you will be formating your system partition. Meanie EVERYTHING will be gone. Make sure you have a backup that will work with twrp and also that you have all the things needed to get going, rom, gapps, kernel, etc

It works for me with out an issue...I mounted system, mounted data, then installed market.then unmounted data, unmounted system, wiped dalvik, then fix permissions...

auto restart after lag

hi all,
this is my first post..
my SGA keep auto restart after lag or crash.
Or if i reboot my android,i must wait about 15 minutes before i can use it,or my SGA will reboot and reboot again for several times.
I use IMAGINARY ICS V.4 rom
Please help me solve my SGA problem..
Have you tried to wipe cache and dalvik cache in CWM? You can also try to wipe data but naturally you will lose all your data, settings and apps.
Android does reboot if it has properly crashed, have you got lots of processes running in the background? U got any other tweaks installed. / app running at startup?

Android reboots if it runs out of ram so try installing ram managment scripts like adreniline boost, wipe everything, install less apps, etc. barebone roms help a lot!less Don't use task killers!!!!android stops apps Automaticaly when it is not used (2.3+)my phone is faster without it...
Best of luck

The rom that you're using have already adrenaline script for ram management. Also turboboost and lagfree are buggy script and surely conflict with adrenaline script Try to remove this script (look in the flashable zip to see what files were installed and delete them)
EDIT: If you look in your rom's changelog you can see that Turboboost was removed for many problems

Using Recovery, "fix permissions" returns after a few seconds. I am trying to get Youtube working in AOKP M6 on a Vibrant, which won't play videos, just seems to get stuck starting to download. Elsewhere, someone suggested the wipe cache & Dalvik, and fix permissions, as having fixed it, but that drill doesn't do it for me so far, so I thought maybe the fix permissions was broken here as in Hercules T989 CMR.

Could be the kernel you are using, some kernels have problems with youtube and video playback.

try pushing apk directly into /system/app. set permission and reboot. this will make it a system app. then use titanium backup or whatever to make it a user app
Try wiping cache partition and dalvik cache in the recovery!
Worked for me once!
"Did I ever tell you the definition of Insanity"

you dont have to reinstall all apps if you wipe dalvik cache. wiping cache make you reinstall all apps. dalvik cache just keeps record of installed apps. no harm if you clear/wipe it
I have wipe dalvic and partition catche both
But still same problem persist
Please tell me full procedure
How to forcefully install in system??
As you said in previous post

To forcefully install it, take the apk of the mx player app and move it to /system/app with rw-r--r-- permissions!
"Did I ever tell you the definition of Insanity"

[Q] HELP! Cannot restore from nandroid, rebooting with CM 10.1 update

Hello all,
i tried to upgrade from an older epitner's CM 10 to the latest 10.1 with the new kernel.
[i had taken a nandroid, cleared data + cache]
However on booting up, the phone continually restarts (after boot animation at the language selection). Found that the longer i kept the phone off before starting and trying again the longer it would stay on and then reboot again. am i missing something here? (do not have an external SD card insserted)
Anyways, in order to use the phone now, decided to go back as of now and restore the older ROM, but when i'm trying to restore, it says E:Can't mount /sdcard.
Need urgent help on what can i do? it is now monday morning and i'm unable to use the phone!
Running CWM recovery v.5.0.2.0
thanks in advance
Do wipe data, wipe cache, wipe davilk cache, /format preinstall and /format system before restore.. but if it doesn't work, you cant just try to install a new rom, not to restore..

you do know that there is a 5.0.2.7 cwm that gives you webtop options, right? and try doing this in recovery:
adb shell
# cd /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/*insert backup file name here*
# rm nandroid.md5
# md5sum *img > nandroid.md5
