Hulu+ is now supported on Prime - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

Don't know if anyone has posted this yet. I just checked for it a couple days ago and it is now supported on the Prime. Enjoy!

Is your prime unlocked and rooted?
Still not working for my rooted and unlocked prime. Just wondering.

I'm having the same problem. I too am rooted and unlocked, very frustrating.

Hulu plus worked like a charm until I rooted my Prime

Yes I'm rooted but not unlocked. And the latest firmware update won't install on mine. It says it failed and is going back to last configuration.

You probably installed or un installed something from the system folder. Ota usually check that all the correct Components are available before an updated can be installdd .

I get the same thing on mine. Haven't figured out why this happens to some of us, and not others. Could it have to do with being boot loader unlocked? I don't really see how, but it's very annoying.

Bootloader may be the culprit...
Anyone with an unlocked bootloader able to get hulu running?

no I get the same error message with unlocked bootloader. One thing to try woulkd maybe be this: On aokp, if you use ota keeper to temp unroot, you are able to watch movies from google for an unknown reason. Maybe this works for hulu. I would try it but I am happily running virtous right now...

Anyone with a locked bootloader and root able to view or anyone with an unlocked able to view hulu?

Yeah, I modifed to be able to connect to ad hoc. Other than that I don't think I've done anything else.

No issues streaming Hulu plus. Rooted and locked.

On .21 rooted only. I get device not supported. Even tried to temp unroot with OTA rootkeeper but no go.

Maybe try turning of "Force GPU rendering?"
Also have you tried completely uninstalling the apk through TB? I hear it's suppose to delete everything and not leave a trace of the app. Then reinstall. Maybe also make sure your Flash is up to date.

Thanks for the suggestions but didnt make a difference. Are you on .21 stock rooted?
My coworker has .21 not rooted and his works fine.

Quick question

Hi, got my prime yesterday, loving it so far
I've installed ICS, but then there was a firmware update for the camera in the Asus quick settings pane which I ignored as I was doing something else. Now that I want to install it, the message has gone, how do I install it? I've looked everywhere.
Cheers.

Go to the settings and look in the About sections and check the Firmware Update.
I tried that but nothing came up. I tried again and it worked. Just me being impatient.

Are you willing to unlock your Prime and void the waranty? If yes then you can install CWM. If not, you have to wait for someone to find an exploit that allows root.

His Prime is already unlocked. The issue is that he cannot install CWM because:
A) No root access for ROM manager inside working OS!
B) No access to using fastboot as this is his only computer!
If you can get to london next week, I will be more than happy to meet up and help you out dude.
might take you up on that as i fooked a flash on my galaxy s now and cant get to the recovery screen now.. lol. where in london are you?

I know that he is unlocked from a previous thread.
I'm in Brockley in south London however, I spend time at my University in North London, near the Emirates Stadium.
PM me if you want to meet up, and hopefully we can get you back up and running.
ok, bit of an update. my galaxy i9000 crashed the other day. managed to get into local library and flash through odin in there and get it working again but the machine is locked down and no command prompt available so unable to push cwm onto my prime. so question, is there a method for doing this without command prompt or can some clever bod write an executable or batch file that will do this for me on a restricted local library machine.. cheers

OTAKU Root Keeper

Is OTA RootKeeper compatible with the G'Note? I guess once ICS gets released, we will have re-root.
OTA RootKeeper worked great on my Transformer Prime.
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using xda premium
I installed and ran it on my Note and it shows temp root and unroot. Richmd is going to try it, and hopefully posts back on how it worked.
I just chose temp unroot and the went into root explorer and the option to mount r/w was not there. I'm running GB but tonight I will be on the new collective ICS build. I'll try it then as well to see if it works.

Keep us posted if the leaked ICS works and still remains rooted.
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using xda premium
I'm still rooted with the ICS from the collective and when I temp unroot and go into root explorer it only gives me the choice of read only and not the option to read write so root keeper seems to work like it should.

This wasn't a proper test since the Collective ICS build is prerooted. No matter what you did on your GB build, flashing that would have given you root.
Though I am sure we all appreciate the effort, we will have to wait and see if a real update from rooted to unrooted stock will allow you to keep root.

[app][modded] hbo go 1.4

I found in this thread a reference to HBO Go. I got to thinking.. What if the app were actually compatible..
So, after decompiling the APK.. Low and behold there was a routine called IsDeviceCompatible()..
There is one jnz based on p0 flag.. I bypassed this with a simple goto.. and surprise.. It's now compatible..
Keep in mind that you still have to have a valid account with a supported provider and I left the HDCP code untouched.
I've tested the apk on my TF201 (rooted and custom rom)and a friends TF101 (stock 4.0.3, bootloader still locked unrooted) and it worked on both..
Just thought I'd share the results..
EDIT: Doesn't appear to work with Motorola tablets (Xoom specifically) and without one to do testing on I can't see if it's just a library dependency or something simple.. Apologies.
Got a message saying "could not apply content. try again later." On xoom.

Apologies for that. I think it's something specific to the Xoom though. The workaround in the other thread said that 'That didn't work on the Xoom' either so I'm inclined to think that maybe the Xoom has different dependencies that are missing in the Xoom build.
I can't address that from the app though it does make me understand why they initially made tablets 'incompatible devices' so they wouldn't have to be hassled with which ones work and which ones didn't.

I suspect that there is but I'd have to investigate to see. Also there I'd be curious of enabling HDMI mirroring would somehow circumvent HDCP.. At this point I don't even know *IF* HDCP even exists in the app to be honest but I'd be hesitant to do anything that might be perceived as 'circumventing protection.'
This works great! Much better than the work around. Is the quality related to the app itself or the connection? Either way this is awesome
World great! Thanks.

Also maybe we could remove the portrait lock.

Should be easy.... I'll look at MaxGo now..
The portrait lock.. Not so sure.. I kinda wanted this myself too though so I'll take a look.
EDIT: Per request the modded MaxGO app can be found in this thread.
Now we can use the tablet version of HBO Go on the Prime.

This method no longer works. It seems that Amazon disabled the "buy" button for all free applications.
However, I can attest to the functionality of the OP's hack. Thanks

Prompting to downgrade AFTER JB update?

So, stock, unlocked, rooted, well partial root after update but that's a different problem. After the recent JB update it is prompting me to install a system update to "US_epad-user-9.4.2.28 dated 6/13/12 10:03:02". This is persistent in the status bar after every boot, and pops up constantly. Same thing on my wife's tablet. Am I correct in assuming I do not want to apply this? How the hell do I make it go away?
Thanks in advance.

are you sure you don't have that file on the SD card inserted ?
Damn! That was it. I had forgot the last update failed on our tablets and I had to manually download and install. So simple I completely overlooked it. Many thanks!
