Make sure you take a backup before replacing SystemUI.apk
[How to install using file manager (e.g. root explorer)]
1. Places files into "/system" folder
2. Change the permission rw-r--r--
Long press on systemUI.apk & framework.jar
click on permissions
check the following:
Owner: read, write
Group: read
Others: read
Also Change Owner to the following using Root Explorer
Owner 0 - Root
Group 0 - Root
3. Move Systemui.apk to correct directory ("/system/app") folder
5. Move framework.jar to correct directory ("/system/framework") folder
6. Reboot your phone
Once you have done this install QuickPanelsSettings.apk this allows you to decide which widgets to show or hide and in which order.
Anyone interested in redoing the icons they look pretty bland to me, I would do them myself but I am not graphics expert.
I have attached the string.xml if anyone want to translate it in there language I will compile it into the SystemUI.apk
Thanks to the following people for there contribution.

it my fault, ho ho Thanks again.

Great work, i like the look of your quickpanel alot and i was going to do the same thing this weekend as I just got .73 installed.
Does your panel scroll left and right or is there an app toggle?
Some one should add the reboot, clockworkmod to the power menu 8)
Hopefully we will have clockwork mod by next week, once we do this phone will get smashed with mods and roms.

The Panel has around 12 widgets which scroll left to right, you can select to have all widgets displayed or only select a few widgets to display. ClockworkMod will be added once its available!

This is brilliant. Looks lovely and I'm glad you got rid of the brightness slider, it was a bit bulky and unnecessary.
The Toggle LED doesn't show up though. I have tried selecting everything and it just doesn't appear.

When I turn off Monitor Lock, then turn on, Silder Unlock will lose efficacy.
I tried several times, Silder Unlock always lose efficacy.
You can try......

Yes why not!
It's on my todo list now
it's very nice that OP also managed to exert effort providing us the uninstall zip, it's quite handy on switching themes. Most themers around don't provide that although it can be done manually but sometimes users messed up on manual copy-paste and setting permissions. So thanks for making it easier for us common users.

This looks really nice. Only thing I'd want added is a battery in the Status bar that showed a percentage number. Other than that, this looks slick. Thanks
Edit: Beaten by rednit...
[V.02] [UPDATE 2012-02-05]
Battery Style Indicator added
The status bar is transparent only in the lockscreen - why? Good work, anyway.
Edit - it is transparent only in the default launcher, how can we make it such in go launcher ex too?
Аnd another suggestion - can you use this systemui.apk(i changed it manually and it worked) - because with this mod, you can choose your status bar toggles, which is very useful.

Hi bo6o,
I based on the last Firmeware.
The transparency only works with the default launcher and no other.
For transparency with another launcher (Go Launcher for exemple), should be seen directly with them but you have already done manually
Thanks for your suggestion but I'll focus on the default lancher

OK. I understand for the status bar transparency, but for the status bar toggles, I missed to paste the link - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1392472
If you use this mode, people could change(choose) the toggles, rearrange them, and there's the useful "hide on change" setting. It works normally on .62.

Xperia Mini ST15i
It works on our phone...not only does it work (I tried the SMS app also) but it works BRIlliantly..it's gorgeous...thanks!
it works great on mini..what will be in new version..thanks for your great effort
Next version will be the port to ICS ROM, when it will be released.
Works pretty great woth the Active too. The only issue I encountered was that I have a SystemUI.apk that is made for 4x4 app drawer, and this one is 4x3. So I had half an exrra line going below the app drawer background. If you're willing to make a framework.apk that supports the 4x4, it would be awesome.

Is not better to use another homescreen replacement?
I tried using Home.apk from my rom (the Xperia ray ported homescreen) but the alignment of the icons in the drawer isnt handled by home.apk but from systemUI.apk (at least that's what i can imagine since framework.apk and home.apk are replaced by the ones in your zip). So if you add a SystemUI.apk, not necessarily a 4x4 one, you will eliminate all the compatibility issues that might occur with people not coming from a completely stock ROM.
Just my 2 cents. I love the effort you have put into making this. It's not just a simple theme change it's a visual overhaul.
BTW i didnt get a Reboot menu with the theme. I dunno if you have implemented it or not, just noting it out.
There is just reboot option in power menu, nothing more.
Acording to homescreen: catch the screenshot and paste here
There ya go. I dunno if you had implemented HTC's icons for the apps, but it has kept the ICS ones i had previously
Scratch that. Im a complete retard. I hadn't erased data on SE home app so thats why it was like that.
The quick panel icons are very blured, fix them please. Great work as always.

Did You ever saw HTC sence interface? This is the special effect for quick panel icons taken from HTC sense.
If You don't want them just replace them with others...

For a more Sense like UI you can replace the Text icon when you long press your finger.
This is what it looks like:
I have changed the following files in framework-res.apk
text_select_handle_left.png
text_select_handle_middle.png
text_select_handle_right.png
with the Png below. The left and right are a bit off, but the mid one is spot on and looks really nice. Could be a little bigger though. Consider adding it.
(I took it from an HTC explorer ROM, the HDPI version of it looks way too big)

First of all thx for the work at this little improvement.
One little observation. When i have the date and time set to 24H the clock look like this %25.%31.%Y it's solved when i change to PM/AM format, but in my country we use as default the 24H format so please try to solve this little inconvenient.
I have attached 2 screenshots to be clear how it looks when the 24H is enabled and how it looks when AM-PM is used.

forget about battery, I like the blue "circle" around percentage, but I would love white clock and date when notification pulled down, not blue as it is in update1... So black background with white numbers and letters:silly:
'cause I'm using stock xperia launcher that has all white fonts, and am probably not the only one

First of all thx for the work at this little improvement.
One little observation. When i have the date and time set to 24H the clock look like this %25.%31.%Y it's solved when i change to PM/AM format, but in my country we use as default the 24H format so please try to solve this little inconvenient.
I have attached 2 screenshots to be clear how it looks when the 24H is enabled and how it looks when AM-PM is used.

white font noted.. will get it in the next update
updated with white text
let me know if there are any probs..
Thanks! It works perfectly! Although the "X" and "O" are still blue, but not a big deal
A little question, maybe not related to systemUI thing - since I installed it I get "android.process.acore has stopped", also when I uninstall an app... It's not causing any problem, everything works like it should...

Excellent work. Are you planning other indicators like alarm and vibrate modes symbol ? I will donate when store mode appear
Nice Mod! But I can't disable the default Wifi icon - so I have 2 icons in my bar.
SGS3 I9300 CM11 Temasek
It does not work on touchwiz rom. I can only change battery icon. The signal and wifi icon does not change.Im using note 3 with stock s5 rom. Do i need to provide log ?
Edit: after one more time reboot, it worked. Thanks.

Ok, SB Icon Hider does this for me ?
Ordering the icons and setting an individual margin would be great.
Working great on my LG G3. I'm looking forward to the pro release. Thanks OP!
Awesome
Man! You're too awesome!!! :good: :good: :good: Gonna try it now:laugh:
UPDATE: the default wifi and signal icon doesnt hide itself, it showing two wifi and signal icons. Hopefully this will be fix in the next update.
Suggestion: An option to use the default. Eg. I wanted the default battery and I can disable the battery icon changing.

really great, but it doesn't override stock icons for wifi and signal. battery icon is ok.
and I think also there is no option to roll back and bring back stock icons for one or two indicator. so it's an all or nothing deal.

The main idea of my module is changing battery, wifi & data indicators with indicators created programmatically and I'm not sure that I want to create programmatically bluetooth, gps and sound icons.
