I'd suggest booting to fast boot and run an RUU or to bootloader and load an official PG86IMG file

Although Don't shoot the messenger if i'm wrong.. I haven't had this complication

While everyone is having fun with s-off, I'm a sitting duck. I managed to successfully root my 3D but once I rebooted and made it to the handsfree activation window it instantly goes into bootloop. Im not a noob so by me having experience I tried to do a few things to fix it. First I tried cache wiping and it didnt work. Next I tried to back up, wipe phone, then restore and that didnt work as well and after doing that, now I can't get pass the first HTC screen. Anyone, PLEASE shed some light. This is very fustrating.

I was thinking maybe a re flash would fix was was causing the bootloop....Im not sure of the exploit they used but I figured that was worth a shot....kinda like when people were flashing Virus kingdom ROM twice....just a thought
Guess its time to head over to feenode #revolutionary. The Devs are hanging around there.
I think its the stock Rom. I've tried to backup and restore but ever since I wiped my data I can't get past the the splash screen. Im downloading a Rom to flash that I found in the dev section. If that doesn't work I'm going to try the RUU thing. Im made because the only thing I have to work with is a hero, and it downloads **** so slow. I had the fastest internet in the house until this happened.

You'll get it back up and running. If you're downloading the TI-X rom by dc13, you're going to want to hold off on flashing that for now. He said it won't flash yet, and he's working on fixing it. If you're not talking about that one, then nevermind. I would think that running an RUU would fix it, but I'm not quite sure yet if there is anything you need to do before running the RUU, as far as the bootloader goes.

I would guess it'll only be a matter of hours before some stock rooted roms start appearing. I'm not sure if running the RUU will overwrite your hboot. I think I read that it will not, but don't know for sure.

ok, off to bed. got it working.
RUU 1-15 version here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1092957
get the ZIP, not exe. i tried exe and it failed.
-rename file to PC86IMG.zip
-boot into bootloader, ruu will work itself.
boot back into stock rom.
-you will still have S-OFF, but i could not flash custom recovery. HBOOT looks like it reverted. trying to fastboot cwm/twrp recoveries failed.
-re s-off using rev (didnt fail even though i had S-OFF already, prev failed when i tried to rerun rev having S-OFF)
-HBOOT got changed to new version thru rev S-OFF
-was able to flash twrp using fastboot. tried cwm, worked. went back to twrp recovery.
-flashed fixed su zip (to enable root) and was able to boot back into stock rom.
-tested titanium, works.
-tested autokiller, works.
thanks for the help guys.
Whenever I try to flash a ROM I always get "main version older". I'm on the stock, rooted gingerbread ROM right now with an unlocked bootloader and if I try to flash any ROM whether it's a gingerbread or ICS ROM I always get the same message when the phone reboots to the bootloader to flash the kernel.
What can I do about this?
After I first unlocked my phone I tried to install an ICS rom then I installed a gingerbread rom after and I never saw that message once. Then I started seeing it so I went back to stock to see if that would fix my issue but it hasn't.

It mostly mean your htc rezound is on a newer main version of software you going to need to downgrade by changing the number here a link to help you do this and take out the older message that come up http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1467099
So, theoretically, if I take it all the way back down to 1.00.000.0 I could be able to flash anything because whatever I flash will always be greater than the main version.

Until you flash something that updates your mainver lol.

Which a lot of roms and kernels do. Its a very annoying issue.
If the main versions are the same will it still throw the same error?
Nope. Only when the mainver is older.

Well it works. Anyone have any idea how I keep getting stuck at the HTC screen when I flash some roms (ICS ones mostly). I've never made it past the HTC screen with CleanRom and now I'm on the new Bamf ICS 0.5 rom and I'm sitting here stuck again. The kernel flashed successfully in the bootloader so I'm not sure why I keep getting stuck.

use's something that can read your sdcard and add this file here http://www.mediafire.com/?9b9pr48t498ru1g to you sdcard then go into bootloader and let fastboot do it thing

use this to get recovery overclock or the other recovery mean http://www.mediafire.com/?zk4ooxyonsgnaj5add overclock to the htc then go to your sdcard and add http://files.themikmik.com/new2/Ineffabilis-Deus_v1.0.1-Odex.zip and PH98IMG.zip (http://db.tt/d9503t4R) for bootloader now when all this is placed and done hit the boot to recovery on the program i showed you and your in overclock once there i want you to wip everything once done go to zip file and look for Ineffabilis-Deus_v1.0.1-Odex.zip click and once it finish installing go to bootloader and install PH98IMG.zip so when your done ....hopefully it work

...Gingerbread roms aren't working either. I have flashed 1 ICS rom and 2 Gingerbread roms in the past but for some reason now, I can't flash anything.
I'm wondering if flashing the stock RUU and relocking, then unlocking again and reflashing Amon Ra would fix the issue. After I originally unlocked was the only time I could ever successfully flash anything.
Don't see how locking and re-unlocking would make a difference.

I'm running out of options.
I just recently switched back from the leaked Ice Cream Sandwich RUU by changing the main ver and uploaded the oldest ruu (1.02 etc) and was going to just update through OTA to the latest version of the htc Rezound. I the found out that when I tried to update it, recovery (amon ra recovery) was still present and it tried updating through that, which failed. Can anyone help me out with removing recovery?
in order to ruu, you need to install stock recovery which amonra recovery will be removed as well. download: http://db.tt/tw5m33ZG

i use cleanflash 1.0 for boot.img and recovery.img.
http://www.scottsroms.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=57
or use adb and flash using this command "fastboot flash recovery recovery_signed.img"
if you are using cleanflash 1.0, after downloading the stock recovery,
unzip then put the img file in the same folder as the tool the rename it to "recovery.img"
then use the tool and flash
make sure usb debugging is enabled, usb mode is on charging and htc sync on your computer is disabled before using the tool!!!!

If op is doing this to try and get the OTA, it won't happen, due to flashing the .22 leak.

There's a guide in the development section that can get you to switch your main ver to whatever number you want. I put it a 1.00.000.00 and then it automatically switched to the first main ver (when the htc rezound was officially released). Now I've got a problem because my phone won't read my sd card (even though it's working, i plugged it into the computer and it worked), it won't let me flash any RUUs in bootloader, every time i try to turn the phone on it goes straight to fastboot so I can't even access the phone, and where it should say locked or unlocked (in fastboot/bootloader) it has 3 lines that look like this:
***TAMPERED***
***RELOCKED***
***SECURITY WARNING***
Also, I was using the original stock rom for a couple of days before this happend, so that part was working fine. But Ive never experienced this before and this is my third or fourth time going through this exact same process.
Edit: I also forgot to mention that the recovery is now stock recovery again, as you could probably tell, it's relocked, I'm pretty sure it's unrooted, but I can't tell, and lastly, after multiple tires, I could not get the OTA update to work at all. I kept getting error/fail messages.
A couple of things. First you can't ruu back. Your hboot was updated. Second that TAMPERED message tells me that are not on the stock recovery, it only says that when a non stock recovery is installed. If you are just looking to get GB back on the phone, I made a guide in the general section. Search for "how to go back to GB from leaked ICS.

Thanks, and I did re install the stock recovery and have checked several times and there's no more recovery. But I'm back on GB now, I was just trying to get the OTA. Now I'm trying to get my phone to turn on because every time I power it on, it goes straight to fastboot, so I can't access it. So if you have any ideas on that to help me out, that would be awesome. Do I have to do that if my phone's already on GB?
Now it won't let me get into recovery because it keeps trying to update the the software from OTA but that fails and then it gets stuck at phone with a red triangle infront/ontop of it.
Edit: I actually realized it was doing that because the recovery still wasn't there, so i went back to the command prompt and looked and saw that it said that flashing the recovery had failed. so then I went and got the newer amon ra recovery and tried flashing that, still said it failed and still wasn't there. What is going on with my phone?

No, flastboot flash boot (kernel).IMG
So it would need to be extracted out of the zip to get the raw IMG file

Ok command prompt said it was a success, but nothing happened on the phone, I'm still going to infer that it was a success. Now what did the kernel update do? Will i be able to update via OTA?
So I recently switched over to the Evo 4g LTE and I'm trying to get everything set up to flash ROMs and such.
I unlocked the bootloader, rooted, and installed TWRP 2.3. I tried to flash the latest Viper 4g ROM but it wouldn't go past the boot screen so I figured I must not have something set up correctly.
Still a little iffy on the S-Off, S-On and if that has anything to do with it. I have extensive experience with flashing on Samsung phones so the switch to HTC has me a little lost. Thanks for the help.

Hi guys. I unlocked the bootloader but wasn't able to get SOFF. I tried flashing the elementalX kernel which allowed me to go through the setup. The phone then was stuck in a boot loop. I downloaded additional roms and extracted and flashed the boot.img and then the ROM however everytime I am just stuck at the boot screen. Any ideas?
I had all the latest firmware etc.

Boot into fastboot and connect through command prompt to your pc. Type fastboot erase cache
see if that gets you going.
I may give that a try. I ended up flashing ViperROM and it loaded up fine. I did nothing different than the other 3 ROMS i tried to flash so I am not sure where the problem is. I am going to keep trying since I didn't want to user Viper.

Do you have a Samsung device?
Be warned - there is no such thing as fastboot mode for most Samsung Galaxy devices - you'll be wasting your time doing this and typing "fastboot devices" for many hours!
If you have problems with your recovery, it works to just reflash the CF-autoroot kit, which happens to flash the cache partition too. My problem was a bootloop with TWRP's obviously buggy OpenRecoveryScript, which was installing a ZIP file over and over again.
