I want to start porting MIUI4 ROM from ARC S to NEO/NEOV.
We have almost same HW except front camera and main camera color settings.
I've already made port MIUI 2.4.6 to NEO by copying all files from folders etc, lib, and usr to a ported ROM from ICS Beta ROM, and it helps - everything works. But I think its not correct.
Can Someone help me with the list of files that need to be copied only for camera fix. As doesn't work flashlight with old camera fixes.
I want to copy new drivers from .562 FW to MIUI ROM, but if I copied folders etc, lib, and usr I get a boot-loop.

I think all you have to update is sensors.conf (for correct rotation) , hw_config.sh & pre_hw_config.sh (for correct ambient light sensor settings, led notification settings & etc) these files can be found on system\etc, and the camera libs (liboemcamera.so [to have a correct camera dimensions] and the the camera drivers that can be found on usr/semc/camera/)

copy all the files to usr/semc/camera/

But like others I believe, the dev section has a lot of information about you should do to improve the ROM.
I can't forget to say how grateful we are to all feedbacks that I believe improve the CM10 Rom and peharps one day will be bug free.
Then I Decided , after see Fxp 135, Fxp 136, Fxp 137.... to ask to the users to post here what is working, what is not working. Peharps put the kernel that you are using. I don't wanna discuss what you should do to improve your ROM or solve the bugs, but with a organized thread we can see what is really working and what is not. This is will help a lot of users to decide with they want to change the stock rom to CM10 Jelly Bean. And Again thanks for to all devs and the hard work.

Could you please specified if you are using another kernel. And Google Now is working ?
yesterday i flashed fxp 137 and the kernal provided with fxp 137 on my neo. first of all i tried to enable wifi and found it wasn't working for me :crying: . wifi enable switch is fade. i can't turn it on.
any suggestion?

in any case, wipe all caches...dunno....mine is working fine...

You flashed Gapps after rom without reboot, right? Flash rom, reboot and set your wifi, reboot into recovery and flash Gapps. Wifi should work this way.
The most annoying bug for me is wifi drop offs when phone is in deep sleep. All JB roms tested have this bug.

I know that everybody is seeking for answers to the bugs, But this thread it is to say what is working and what is not working and say what kernel you are using.
Solutions to the bugs you can find thousand of it in dev section.
I think that no other bugs. I said that now not working with FXP137.
Repeat: Not working HDMI, Camera Preview and Some problems with Videos. I don't see other major bugs
Issues:
HDMI - Will not work on any custom roms due to sony will not release the source
Low call volume - This can be fixed by deleting audio_policy.msm7x30.so file
Camera preview is not working on stock app - Use Camera ICS+, camera zoomFX
Other than these i don't see any major issues with this rom
There is some troubles with Wifi. Its not connect to my wifi network automatically

First of all: FXP139 kernel is not booting. The screen remains black, not even the FreeXperia logo is reached. So I installed FXP138 kernel with FXP139 ROM and it's working for now.
Works:
- Camera preview and pictures, with ICS stock Camera (included) and any other camera app that you can install from Play Store. JB camera works without preview, as usual.
- It's no longer necessary to activate "Disable HW overlays" on Developer Opts. to make camera preview to not overlap other things (like transparent menus or options in apps like Camera Zoom FX)
- Video capture works on both Camera apps (probably on other Play Store video capture apps too) in both SD (480p) and HD (720p). Of course, preview only on ICS.
- Tethering via USB and bluetooth only (Did it work on previous versions? I didn't try)
- Automatic light sensor (finally)
- Any other thing that worked in previous versions.
Still doesn't work:
- Tethering via wifi.
- HDMI (may never work, Sony libs and stuff)
- JB camera preview
- Front camera doesn't work, it makes any camera app to stop, and you have to erase that app's data to fix it and switch again to back camera.
- Panorama mode stops ICS camera and *seems* to work under JB camera without preview, but I can't get any photo that isn't crap (blurred, strange colors...), maybe I can say that it doesn't work well.
- I didn't find any other major bugs.
I'll be updating this post as I discover new bugs and stuff. My phone is a Neo V, not Neo.

Q: How to enable the developer options on CM10.1/10.2?
A: Settings>About phone> click 7 times on Build number.
Q: Where can I find gapps?
A: Here.
Q: The call volume is too low, why?
A: This’s a known issue not only in Xperia phones but in the most 4.1.x & 4.2.x roms on other phones. Anyway, check your baseband. If you are not using the newest, update it here: How to Install JB, ICS or GB on Xperia™ Smartphones, as well as root them.
Or/And: Decreases the volume and increase it during a call.( this tip works for me, I'm using BB.77 but should work with other basebands too).
Q: My camera doesn’t work properly, 720p still has low quality, blablabla… why?
A: Because Sony doesn’t release JB camera libs for Sony Xperia 2011 phones, so you can wait till any developer make some kind of magic or sign this petition: "JB Camera libs for all Sony Xperia 2011 Phones".
Q: Why my Wi-Fi doesn't work?
A: Before reporting that it doesn't work, use the kernel (boot.img) inside the rom (.zip).
Q: How to enable the pie controls & navigation bar?
A: First you need a file explorer, then add this line qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 to /system/build.prop & reboot the phone to activate the on screen buttons (Navigation Bar). Then go to Settings>System>Power menu>Expanded desktop & activate it & then you will see pie control in the Settings>System menu.
Q: How to enable lockscreen rotation?
A: First you need a file explorer, then add this line lockscreen.rot_override=true to /system/build.prop & reboot the phone to take effect.
Q: How to disable buttons backlight? (This's only for JB 4.2.2 old releases)
A: First you need a file explorer, then go to /system/etc & edit the hw_config.sh file like that:

Change the value to:

This new method is for Mike's CM10.1 rom (04/06/2013 & 17/06/2013 builds) or other roms based on his rom:
First download this file & then, using a file explorer, copy the file to /system/etc/init.d & set permission to rwxr-xr-x (0755), then restart your phone to take effect.

A: Try this. First you need a file explorer, then go to /system/etc/sensors.conf. If by default is like that:

The status 7 error can be solved easily.
U can jst remove device checking lines from updater script of rom . And then flash it. Rom zip wil then flash without issues.

big problems
Many peoples said if using jellybean 4.2.2 rom with kernel 2.6.x.x have problems wifi and bluetooth cnt turn on (on mdpi 2011 devices). By the way, on my mini pro with 4.2.2 dark demon rom and 2.6.x.x kernel no problems i found, even wifi adhoc can detected . Maybe im lucky :angel:

I am using this ROM for the last 2 days. No problems at all. Everything is working.
Kernerl from ROM.
Battery - acceptable.
But RAM is awful. In running apps its always jump from 0-50Mb free [email protected]#?

I'm using this ROM on Xperia mini(st15i); though there is fm radio app it won't work even I change the kernel to LuPuS. Please tell me a way to fix the radio!!!

I don't own the xperia mini anymore, but try this radio app. Or use the default kernel instead lupus. Happy holidays
Hello everyone.. this is my 1st post in XDA forum. want advice from the elders.
problem: In my Customized Ported Rom front camera does not work.
Info: My devices is a non brand mtk (Cellular A102) with mt6572.
it is difficult to find any custom rom ported for my device.. so I selected an Customized ROM of mt6572 similar to my device (Walton F3i)
I ported that rom with my system stock rom.. everything goes well bt the front camera does not works.. even in camera there is no camera switching option.. during 3g video calling it automatically enables back camera. I tried third party app such as skype to switch the camera bt it was unable to open camera.
Stuff I did to fix that:
1.replaced system/etc/permission whole folder from stock rom to custom rom.
2. replaced system/lib
3.replaced build.prop

You Dont Have To Replace Whole Folders,Just replace camera.default.so under lib/hw folder and camera permission under etc/permissions with stock...Give Feedback if fixed or not..

Maybe. You can look into the system files . There are camera libs and some more things in system/etc and vendor folder.
Copy them out of the firmware . And of course the camera.apk
Then copy all into your custom ROM on the s8 and reboot.
(Make a backup in twrp first. Just in case something goes wrong, also make sure the files have the right permissions. Use mixplorer explorer for that. It will set permissions automatically)
I will try it with "Meizu MX 5" and "Sony Xperia Z3"
by the way: only Ver. 7.0 Like Google Camera 4.1.006.126161292 works on elephone s8
