I have installed Nokia care suite 5 on a windows 7 x64 PC, but I am unable to find the folders where the rm-803 files should be copied.
So is it possible to use Nokia care suite 5, on a windows 7 PC, to debrand my Lumia 710?
Wait....how the heck did you get it to install on a Windows 7 X64 PC? I've been trying on my Windows 7 X64 laptop, my W7 x64 PC, and my wife's Windows XP laptop to try to do this, but I get an error saying "the installation was interrupted before it could start".
You never got this error?

The errors that I got was a pop up that says I should install ‘VC++2005 redistributable Service 1‘ and then that I should install version 2010. Still couldn't get it install.
Then I right click on the 'Nokia care suite install package' and I think i chose 'check/troubleshoot compatibility'. Then windows returned a message that it turned off version check etc.
Try it. I am writing this from memory. But know that even after getting it installed I don't know how to proceed because the instruction for de-branding is for XP only

I got it to work on my Win 7 Laptop 64 bit, and flashed a couple of ROMS to my US T-Mobile 710. I just installed the stuff it told me to, then closed and re-started Nokia Care Suite Installation and that was it....
What are you having problems with? I followed the instructions just fine on my machine....

this works on my windows 7 x64, i am currently using this and have flashed loads of times
i am running it on vista x64, i know vista and 7 are close systemwise, if this helps the nokia folder where you put the roms you download is hidden, the path is:
c:\Program Data\Nokia\Packages\Products\RM-___
i have also flashed a few roms, no problems

well the reason behind my post is that I dont wanna change my OS and still be able to upgrade my phone! :S
Creat a partition.
The ROM Update Utility seems to crash on Windows 7. I tried in XP compatibility-mode, as Administrator, but it still crashes. It has something to do with drivers. In XP, the ActiveSync drivers are installed while in Vista or Windows 7, Windows Mobile Device Center-stuff handles it.

I've heard people say they have gotten Odin to work on their 64 bit versions of windows, but I cant. I am able to use it on a computer running Windows 7 - 32bit, but not either of the computers I've got running 64 bit.
I've definitely installed the 64 bit the drivers. I can access the phone in ADB on these computers. Odin sees the phone and throws up a com port, but I get a weird error message with Chinese characters when I try to move forward with the flash.
Anyone have a definitive answer? Is it possible to use Odin on Win 7 64bit?
I flashed the leaked J12 with Odin on my 64bit Windows 7 laptop without any trouble.
I flashed with Odin on my W7 64bit desktop. Had a little trouble with it sticking on the verifying files at the beginning, but restarted it and it ran fine the second time. That's the only experience I've had with Odin. Just though I'd let you know that it works on my 64bit machine.
Thanks guys. I dont know what the hiccup is on my end. I might go through my drivers again just to make sure that isnt the issue.
I would highly suspect that the drivers are the issue as have used Odin on 2 separate 64bit machines. Make Sue that after u download the Sammy drivers, that they are installed, and installed correctly.
they call me...kick ass
I was never able to make any win7 system recognize my vibrant in dl mode at all, 32 or 64 bit, no matter what drivers i tried. I even tried to extract the 64 bit drivers to the 32 bit Os as I had seen mentioned in a thread some people had success with. Xp ran it like a champ on the first attempt.

I know were talking about different phones here but I've been scouring the internet trying to find a solution to a problem I'm having right now. when switching from 1 custom ROM to another, it was required that I flash to stock EC05, then flash to EE?? my Windows 7 Ultimate x64 wouldnt work properly (kept getting stuck in boot.bin in ODIN0 but my old faithful Netbook with Windows XP Home SP3 (x86) workd flawlessly!
I'm talking 3 HOURS of trying to get the Win7x64 to work properly and had my Epic reflashed with XP in 3minutes and 27 seconds, not counting time to install Samsung Drivers into XP (30-45 seconds)
Granted this is my experiance, but before I got x64 I was running with Win7 X86 and still never had problems. I have read through Google search that other people with x64 Windows 7 had problems. This is my story only, best of luck to ya, but I am now ONLY going to use my ol Netbook (or x86 virsion of Windows) to ODIN my phone.
Never Stop Wanting More from your devices.
Im using 64 windows OS and i don't have a problem. If your device is not recognize by your PC just reinstall the samsung drivers and you are good to go.
Sometimes you have to go into the safe mode options and disable driver enforcement policy. Then it will work.

Samsung Kies 2.3.3.12085_7_5 work with Windows 8 9200...:good:
I'm using windows 8 x64, I had no trouble installing the drivers.. I just put the phone in download mode and connected the usb cable and the drivers were automatically installed.

Hello all.
I too have Windows 8 RTM 9200 x64.
Kies 2.3.3.12085_7 INSTALLS fine, and the app RUNS fine.
Also, when I put the phone in download mode, Win8 DOES automatically find a device, but....
1. Kies can never find the phone (obviously not when in download, I mean in normal mode). Just keeps telling me to turn off debugging (which is not on!). Tells me: "Reconnect the device in Samsumg Kies (PC Studio) mode. Current connection mode not supported by Kies. Check USB settings."
2. Odin 1.85, 1.87 and 3.04 can never see the phone in download mode. Just nothing as if not connected.
For you guys who have it working in Win8, can you confirm that Kies can actually SEE the phone (running the app is the easy bit!), and that if you go into download mode, that Odin can see the device?
I can pass things thru on a virtual USB port to a Virtual Machine of Win7, but cant never actually get any functional use in (host) Win8.
Thanks.
EDIT: I downloaded Kies from Samsung page and it seems to be very slightly newer than mine, now version 2.3.3.12085_7_5. NOW, Odin CAN see the device in download mode which is what I really wanted for flashing purposes. Kies itself now no longer instantly complains about the USB setting, but iinstead just spins its wheel and never connects. But Kies stinks and never use it anyway, so not too fussed. Really just wanted Odin so that's cool.
Downloaded THIS Kies: http://www.samsungapps.com/about/onPc.as
Can you extract the USB Driver msi from the instllation and upload it here? Thanks!\
Edit:
Found it!

Now my Note is back under my Windows 8 64x RTM!
Interesting!
Your mediafire download LOOKS like the same version that my Kies installed, but when I installed your version over my pre-existing one, now Kies can see my phone!
Excellent!
Thanks!
Hope this all helps someone else too.
I ran Windows 8 for exactly 2 days. I ain't gonna touch that with a 10ft pole ever again. Went back to Win7.
Lemme just tell ya: Windows 8 sucks big time. It's so bad it both sucks and blows at the same time.

Using a 4 year old Dell Latitude XT2 that originally came with Vista on it with a fresh install of Windows 8. Love the device. Multi touch screen works right away and all features work great. Having a blast with Windows 8. Just need the right hardware and it is a perfect operating system. Best of both worlds, tablet and laptop.
There's no need to install Kies to use the phone as mass storage.
Only if you want to flash things though Odin.
I'm using Windows 8 Pro 64bits and I can confirm this. :good:
Windows update Will do the job.
Connect the phone and then search on Windows update.

Hello! I have a problem with flashing Kernel on my windows 8 because there has no driver. Does there have driver released for windows 8 yet?
I don't think windows 8 drivers are released yet, have you tried the one which came with Flash tool (driver folder?)
if they didnt work, you can always use Virtualization
Create a Virtual Windows xp in windows 8 & happy flashing !
