I've got 2 explanation (in my opinion):
1) Fido Rom differs from Rogers' one (I will highly appreciate if smb explain what is Fido )
2) Argentina firmware with manually restored (via nandroid) Rogers Rom.
Installation itself ends with the following message:
Code:
E:unknown command [un_configure]
assert failed: file_getprop("/system

) == "MOTO/FDOCA/umts_spyder:2.3.5/6

it says, can only be done on Fido ROM.
u cant use this OTA with any other ROM. that's what pedro meant to say. that's why it works for u. and that's why it doesn't work on some other posters here that's not on FIDO.
(ps: to our non-Canadian friends: Fido is a carrier. like Rogers. like ATT. like T-Mobile. etc...)

Seems with this update fido changed there signature. cause i bricked my phone just to do a test. and wasnt able to restore it with any latam rom ( usually i can do it with 5 Latam Stock roms ) till i mixed some file from fido build to latam sbf.
lets hope that its compatible with eurpean rom.
Any1 got the same prob?
Yorgo i bricked mine too however i restored it by flashing retail.br fastboot using fla****(alternative by eternityteam) instead of rsdlite. It will bypass signature verification and you'll have a working phone again. Make sure you do a factory wipe from motorola recovery after flashing otherwise it wont boot.
To flash just unzip all the files from the fastboot and place them in the fla**** folder. After that run fla****.exe or w/e it is and let it work its magic.
Same problem we had before in the other thread discussing this: no fastboot file for Rogers or fido. This makes it impossible to update if you've ever fastbooted anything in your phone, ever, or if you aren't from Canada. I'm going to just accept that we aren't getting this or any other ota and move on.

My phone is already working ( thanks ) but i had to mix some files from fido 3331 in the Latam. it wont flash if i dont use the sbf that i made. i thought that they changed there signature. but not the case. ( i tried more than 8 versions of Rom ) none flashed. i guess when i updated the phone it didnt allow me to downgrade so thats why i had to mix Fido rom ( update ) with Latam . but now the prob i can't update my fido cellphone even with the stock nandroid. was u able to update yours? honestly its not a big deal for me cause i use a middle eastern nandroid for arabic. but official ics wont work if u dont go 1rst on the 2.3.6 even as a nandroid

thats ok i dont care for North american rom. i will have to wait for Latam to update there rom ( just to have the right kernel ) and will go back as usual for my middle eastern nandroid 2.3.6, the reason why i want the update is when in the middle east they get the ICS ( it arrive b4 canada ) i will be able to bypass the restore and it wont stuck on bootloader, thanks god i have a factory active cable so brick unbrick and rebrick lol
I'm really hoping you're right and we'll see a Vivo update soon, since that's a stock rom anyone can hop onto. I also hope you can sideload updates without having specific carriers. Considering Rogers and Fido will both gladly unlock your phone for you, I think requiring the correct carrier to receive updates is pretty backwards.

1) I want to root my phone, but afraid I might encounter bootloop. Will this recovery help to recover from it?
2) Do i need root before I can use this recovery?
3) Your instructions doesn't look clear to me(Im a noob). Do I follow exactly as you said?
Sorry if these questions have been asked before. Im a noob when it comes to this phone. Was using S2 before this, and was very easy to root. Even if the phone goes into bootloop, very easy to recover.
Please show me some light....

Really, without any hack steps, you can flash the different original rom ?
Sorry for asking again because when I ask Moto service in Vietnam, they said they can not flash the original rom (for Vietnam market) to my phone (bought in Sing) because they said it can cause a brick, although as my assumption, Vietnam and Sing will use the same rom version (Asia rom). hic

just being a regular guy with always being a tester not a developer, i cannot assure you that whether this is possible theoretically, practically,company-cally P) or not. what i know from my past experience and being a lab rat as tester is that do what ever you can do whenever you stuck at such a situation.

please specify the OTA about whom you are talking about. And if you are talking about 651.150.1 for EU over my 651.73.30 EU ROM, then no, coz its not possible to update that on .30 (its only for .17 & .18 ROM only).

All new latAm gb shares almost same build actually. But this is really good news, since ICS can come to any of these roms, specially canadians, since they had updated to 2.3.6 OTA.

AFAIK, the USB mass storage support is broken by the messed up CID/block18, so it *should* work on LATAM/CA phones with this build. Considering the date of the release, this might very well be the final RTW ICS build for LATAM devices.
Hopefully the official ICS release will drop next week, so that the rooting software is made available to us all shortly after.
Posted the guide for LATAM/USA/Canada GSM Razr owners on how to update from the T-mo/en.eu ICS leaks onto the officianl LATAM ICS OTA here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1700264.
Its the Final ICS for Latam Razr.
I'm on the Chinese ICS Leak so i'll restore back to 2.3.6 and then upgrade to this tonight. If anyone has already upgraded, could you kindly post screenshots/first impressions?
If this is final, motocast work fine yeah?

I don't get it...
Even if no one probably wanted it... But why can't we downgrade to GB?

I think you do better factory reset and wipe user/cache before installing GB 2.3.6

Install OTA root keeper from Google Play and make sure you temp unroot and make a su-backup. (verify after doing this there's a su-backup in system folder.)
Put the Blur_Version.651.167.3370.XT910.Brasil.en.BR.zip
8. After reboot finish (may take some time) install Ota root keeper again and restore root.

Hello, this is the final version? Can I skip the quoted steps if I do not want to keep my phone rooted ? Thank you!
Installation aborted
I´ve been in this 2.3.6 BR Retail for sometime, I´ve followed the OP directions as described and I´m just getting this during the update from sdcard in stock recovery:
Verifying current system...
assert failed: apply_patch_check("/system/bin/lowgrapper", "4a63fec78956def045b442910a754fa640db8f5a", "16ec2444c44c8e2a73a969cb49834d6f6fe229d7")
E:Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
Any ideas what´s going on now....?
Thanks in advance!

Yes, it's. But I do not recommend installing it without root. At least, do a root backup. You dont need to restore it soon, but you do if you get in trouble.
Cheers

Hmm just as a thought but I'm assuming you're with Telcel because of the logo in your avatar. Are you sure you're on the 2.3.6 RetailBR and not the 2.3.6 Telcel version? I'm just fastbooting back to 2.3.6 RetailBR so i'll try to update and see whether it works or if there may be another issue.

Do a factory reset and wipe everything. Flash GB 2.3.6 retail.br I've provided in OP.
After installing GB 2.3.6 you'll not be able to boot. Just go into recovery and install from sdcard again.
If you loose root its okay. You do almost everything with ICS without root. I barely have some bloats. You can live with.
Man, I'm in love with this.
Have pictures I'll put on PC from camera. Hope this helps even more.
Cheers

Hello Sir,
I am on the same Chinaretail rom that you mentioned.
Also, I am in China right now.
I had the pop up notification for this update for several weeks now.
but when I try to update, it says ...
"E:failed to verify whole-file signature"
"E:signature verification failed"
I am not sure what is the problem, i tried ... did the hard reset and everything.
I also tried the update that you and bliss have uploaded on different links.
I really need this update, as my phone has problems with a lot of applications, mainly games.
Please help me fix this, will be much appreciated.
Thank you very much in advance.
Xie Xie ni.
Your Razr region must match the update file region. Did you buy your phone in China or it's an import. version?

No, I actually bought it in China only. And I never changed any roms, just upgraded to the official 4.0.4 chinaretail upgrade.
Thanks for replying though.

Install OTA Rootkeeper in PlayStore. It backups the root. And you can unroot directly in the app. Then, you can install the OTA.
