I have a problem with my Evo 3D that i used to have it back on my wildfire. It's something that i really don't get it. And by now , no one could explained it to me.
It's about the free memory.
In task killers shows me a value , in android system another one , and in htc task manager almost the same as in task killer.
Why the difference? And why the android show's me 459 mb free ? ( 459+268 doesn't give 1024 mb Ram)
probably the rest of the memory is used by the system or graphics
Nothing to worry about. Actual taskers will never be accurate. Check out v6 Super and that will probably show you your actual free RAM as it did in the application manager view.
Sent Using My HTC Evo 3D, On The Now Network From Sprint!
probably its showing only user tasks, not root and system owned ones.
Thanks guys . All of you.

theres another app, the name excsapes me for a minute, but you could change the values where android system kills app leaving you with more RAM on hand
lemmee search and try to find the name and market link for you
Sorry if this has been talked about. But didn't find much on it. Are anyone using it? Do you recommended it? Free or paid version? I have tried the free one but didn't notice any thing.

Worst app I ever bought. At first I thought it was the mutts nuts but as I learnt more about what my phone was really doing I realised that I used more battery with it running than without.
Don't get me wrong though its brilliant if you hardly touch your phone but if like me you cannot put it down then its absolutely pointless, I much preferred using a combination of apps to save battery's, llama a free task automation app, autostarts to stop things running in the background and fast reboot pro to free up some memory.

Thanks for the advice and got fast boot pro which is ace

No
Its a complete waste of money, i use battery defender instead its free & does a better job
Battery lasts a day, whether JD enabled or not.

@scratch: as far as i know you don't even need to install any auto killer to terminate apps cuz Android has a feature through which it shuts down unnecessary apps when free space is required...

Nowhere did I mention any task killer and just fyi I know perfectly well how androids built in task killer works!
I also know that the android task killer has exactly the same flaw deep down as any auto taskkiller, all apps have certain parameters which when met will enable an app to start. These parameters range from things such as switching on wifi or mobile data to simply plugging in your charger therefore even the built in taskkiller is slightly flawed as an app which has been killed before can just restart as soon as one of its parameters are met.
Check out the app I mentioned autostarts which isn't a taskkiller as such but more stop the task parameters from being met in the first place.

Very little lately.........
@scratch: yeah bro the task killer (android) was known to me ... anyways i mistaken that app to be a task killer
@slymobi: yeah learning in here is quite a lot of fun
Hey hi guys
The new android market sure is beautiful but our phone simply cannot take that much load,
First I thought overclocking my phone would help me make it faster but turns out its still slow
If you are in same situation, here is the solution :
Download the attachment
Install the file normally
Now go to titanium backup n freeze the updater app
Now while you are still in titanium backup, long click on market n select integrate to os...this would push the app into system
P.S.: The last 2 steps make sure your market wont again update itself to the new slow market.
N yes this requires rooted phone
-Hit Thanks if I have helped you!
Hello, for me market 3.4.4 is the fastest and the most stable market here.

oh... i dont know why but for me it was bit slow...so thought if anyone is looking for apk to go back to old one, he could use some help
You can also remove market updater from gapps before you flash it too.
regards,slymobi
There's an app called "Old Market" that can do this. It can also revert back to the new one. I find it quite useful!
(Also, on the old market, sometimes my apps download, but not install, why? )
same problem here...
I'm running CM7 and V6 Supercharger with a smartassV2 overclock set to 710 MHz and Market is running like a charm. For those of you that don't have the V6 mod, wiping your DALVIK Cache helps, too.

Market generally a slow app only..what I'm bothered is, when it gets updated it consumes my precious internal memory :-/

have a look at Darktremor A2SD Scripts - does require an EXT3 partition on your SD card.
and I also read somewhere that Darktremor is not being supported anymore, can anyone confirm this?
You can just remove updates from Application Manager to revert back to old market.
I go to the quick settings and the total memory is 829MB.. 624MB used and 204MB free. There are NO applications running on the task manager. Is 204 normal or should I have more? If so, what should I do to get more?
Thank you

Well that makes sense. My phone is out of the box normal. I guess I need to start rooting it. I dont wanna run out of memory in the end while using apps.
It says 830MB total. And with all my widgets i have 198MB free
I've got 219 free. Having more ram doesn't affect anything unless you are running out. That's when stuff starts slowing down.

The device should have 512mb but when im in the task manger i see that there are only 376mb of ram why is it?is it because the rom?because i remember that in the stock rom i got 381mb but now i only have 376mb is the tweaks that i did made that?
Thanks for all the helpers!
I.E
I just saw in the settings that i only have 263 ram(152 used+191 free)so which one is correct?the task manager or the settings menu?
I believe it is like the 8gb of storage and you only get around 5.5gb. Not all the ram is available for use to use, and I think that is for some of the background processes that are running to keep everything stable. I haven't used the stock rom in a while but I know that the max ram you get is 341mb, and yes some of the tweaks you do can increase/decrease ram.

You have 512mb of RAM in total but a certain amount is dedicated to the GPU to render the visuals. ~375 for apps and ~140 for graphics.
You can change how much is dedicated by doing what is called ramhack. But i don't know if its possible on the players. Search before making a new thread about it.

Did you read the settings wrong? Or its just messed up? I think that it meant 263mb of RAM was in use atm. So you would have ~110mb free (or the opposite).

No i read it fine,i upload some pictures so you will see.
Take care that the screen shot app should not be working in normal use so there should be in there 5-7mb more.
Anyway as u can see the task killer show different size of ram and the running apps shiw different size of ram....

That 125 is used by the OS and programs and process you see on the list. But android in setting does not show all ram used..he lies a little and always show more free ram then any other app reports.
