Should I update to 1.5.7?

Iam on stock 1.2.6 on att. Iam just wondering if I should even do the OTA update to 1.5.7. Because from.what I hear you will always have to go back to stock.1.2.6. If you want to root later before.you do any of the future OTA updates.

Give it time we will probably get this or a newer version of android
Sent from my MB855 using xda premium
there is no need for 2.3.5 it was a few bug fixes for the nexus s 4g. because to take an entire os (motoblur) and upgrade it to another version, even tho its only small changes requires huge amounts of coding and testing.. way not worth it. i would rather have ics then 2.3.5

So... Should be wait? I already restart and nothing i was expecting maybe the notification pops up again

It's an upgrade for GingerBread not for ICS. If you're already with ICS, of course, you'll not see any update. The message however will come to everyone. At least, we have our warranty back! Cheers
Finally! Now just wait for the update to JB

I was ironic about the update JB. The history of Motorola does not allow us to dream. I received notification of ICS but it was with the last rom. I am thinking seriously about buying a HTC next year. A pity that only meet the Mercado Livre in Brazil.

Jellybean 4.1.2 update

I found a pretty easy way to get the JB update on my Razr Maxx.
Go here http://d-h.st/vCW on your phones browser and download the file.
Move the .zip to your SD card.
(If your unsure on how to do this i went into files>internal storage>find the .zip>long press and select move>click the back button on your phone>select SD card.)
Hold both volume buttons and power at the same time and scroll down to recovery.
Once in recovery select appl update from SD and find the file and select with power button.
Give it about 10-15 minutes BAM! Jellybean 4.1.2
"Found it", huh? lol

Not stupid. Nobody really knows yet. There's a good chance this will be the OTA.
Sent from my DROID RAZR using xda premium
This is/was an official update. When they finally release another official update they will now have to include everybody updating from ICS as well as everybody who already took the JB update. Should be no problem to update OTA next time.
Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
Im assuming when the official OTA comes out there will just be some bug fixes from what we have now. So far i haven't noticed anything everything is a lot smoother.

What gives here?
I installed this "update" as directed and was successful. However, my version is still 4.0.4 ICS but shows the 6.16.211 build. Is this supposed to be a Jelly Bean build or is this actually an ICS build?
Any clarification would be appreciated and thanks!
Thats odd. Mine is 4.1.2. It is a jellybean build. Do you have google now and stuff like that?

I am pretty sure you are still running ICS. Android and build should reflect the change. Did your lock screen clock change fonts? Notifications pull down change it's look?

You're still running ICS, not the new JB. The JB leak is Android 4.1.2, Build #: 9.8.20-72_VZW-8
Hi I am just about to receive the razr maxx running ics, its the uk version. Will I be able to update this uk version of the maxx using the method described by the OP ? I am assuming you have to root the phone to do this so would appreciate
a link on how its done on the maxx. I own a Note 2 and have rooted that so am familiar with the process on a Samsung phone.
Thanks for all replies
Phil

Thanks! I figured I didn't get the JB update. If it is available I would like to get it. I had to root again after installing the "update".
