Fosmon cradle for Photon? - Motorola Photon 4G

Does anyone here have experience with the Fosmon cradle with spare battery charging slot?
www.amazon.com/FosmonĀ®-Premium-Moto...3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1334374049&sr=1-3
What I am specifically wondering is whether the Seidio extended battery will fit in the spare battery slot (I know that the Photon with the extended back. cover on won't fit into the cradle itself).
Looking at the picture, it seems like it might not ... But hard to tell.

I had one for my original Droid, worked well it was always nice to be able to throw an extra battery in my pocket for those extended trips away from a charger. also put the phone in the desk mode when it was docked, no complaints! the way you insert the battery into the dock I don't see any reason why the extended battery would not fit, hell would probably make it easier to get the battery out i had to pry the spare out with my fingernail at times

But cannot...
Still can't charge a spare battery. Wonder why they aren't making one that can charge a spare battery espcially when battery power is such an issue with this phone!
Still no spare battery charger:

Anyone have any experience with this or the vertical one? Pros, cons?

Vertical cradle
I just purchased a vertical cradle from an outfit in the UK (Hamill Dist.) but haven't received it yet. I based my decision on a favorable report from HTC Wizard Web (http://www.htcwizardweb.net/node/510). The Ebay unit looks identical, and I figured it wasn't rocket science and basically a plastic holder with USB connector at the bottom.
I'll report back when I receive it and test it out.

I bought
the boxwave vertical cradle and have been using it for a couple of weeks. Not a bad design, but could be better. Needs a spare battery slot. Also, the mini-usb connector is sort of long and you have to be carefull when putting the phone in and out of the dock. I'm afraid I might break it off in the phone at some point. Nothing like that has happened yet, but it just doesn't feel bullet proof.
I'm using an old Rolodex card holder with my sync cable as a horizontal cradle...works absolutely great! The 8125 happens to be a near-perfect fit when oriented horizontally. Pulled it our of my office's back room right before it was going in the trash...

I am using the Boxwave one. Here are my thoughts:
1) I also am using the FlexiSkin. The 8125 does fit with the skin on, but you have to remove the cradles clear plastic support piece (or just leave it off to begin with).
2) Connection - the power part charges easily, but the sync part takes a little more wiggling/time to work than I am used to with the OEM USB cable. I am not sure if it is because of the FlexSkin, the cradle or what...I'll test it out.
3) Design. It is light, and you have to operate with 2 hands to put on and remove. My sync cradle for my old Casio E125 had this lift button to remove the device easily, and I wish this did.
4) Bottom is covered. If you plan ahead, no biggy. I just keep a spare stylus by the cradle because I kept forgetting to remove it before syncing. You may also want to have your bluetooth headset ready, because answering the phone is a little awkward (whether removing the device, or using speakerphone). No way to use a wired set - the plug is covered.

Just the chargers. It comes with a usb cable to attach it to the computer and a normal american outlet charger. If you buy them off of ebay I remember seeing one that comes with a battery. I dont trust the battery that it comes with though I rather just spend the extra cash and be sure of the quality of the battery. Hope this helped
Peraltah,
Thanks for the info. I did order one and I think from what I read one 1100 mah non OEM battery comes with it, will see when it comes to me. See the link below in the product features.

But it doesnt have the spare battery charger
that would have been a nice addition.
I've just got an ok one from ebay, it doesn't have room for spare battery unfortunatly, but comes with built in usb cable and also a charger so you can have both plugged in, so when pc is on it will charge through usb and when off will charge from mains,

New battery suggestions?

I'm thinking about getting a new battery for this SX66 I just got off Ebay. It does fine for the most part, but it won't charge off of the car charger or USB sync if the battery gets below 80% or so. It's getting a bit annoying trying to keep the charge that high all the time, or having to charge it up to 80% before I can plug it into the car or a PC (I don't have a cradle, just a sync cable, and wall charger).
Can anyone suggest a nice battery that won't blow the phone up? I have the phone in a Krusell case that wraps over the keyboard, so the battery can't be any thicker on the bottom half, but it can be a little bit thicker on the top half if needed.
Also, are there any chargers around that would allow me to have one battery in the phone, and the second battery on the charger?
Thanks!

Desk Docks

I bought a desk dock from SmartphonePedia.com
http://smartphonepedia.com/samsung-galaxy-s2-desktop-docking-station-with-battery-charging-slot.html
It's OK but not impressive. It does appear to charge the phone and spare battery together (whether simultaneously I do not know -- I do not have a spare battery yet). Documentation is amusing but not helpful. The fit is snug but pretty easy NOT to get the phone in a charging position (there's a bit of a wiggle/push you need to do).
Samsung has a powered dock here:
http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/ECR-D1D3BEGSTA
which serves a different need -- speakers, etc. No comment.
But they also have this:
http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/ET-CGPK005GSTA
The nice thing is that for the $50 price you ALSO get a spare battery, which makes it somewhat attractive. What is not so clear is whether it actually charges the phone. The description says:
The SAMSUNG Galaxy SII i777 battery charging station is the perfect way to charge your battery and explore the capabilities of your phone. While your spare battery charges (standard 1650 mA battery included) your phone can sit snugly in the stand at an optimal viewing angle for watching a movie or reading the news. (SAMSUNG wall charger also included).

I have not found any pictures that show whether there is a USB plug in the channel that holds the phone, all the images are from the back. Local stores have nothing.
Does anyone have this latter, and know if it does indeed charge the phone and spare battery at the same time? I need another dock for my office, and this would be a good way to get a spare battery at the same time -- but I do not want to pay $50 for a setup where I can ONLY charge the battery if I remove it.
It only charges the spare battery. It's a "stand" not a mount or a dock. I had the equivalent product for the Captivate.
Have to say that it's great to never ever have to have your phone plugged in, can just do a quick swap of the batteries. But the battery is improved enough on the SGSII that I don't feel I need a spare.

Thank you. Need to keep looking then.
By the way, the unit at the top (the no-name dock from Smartphonepedia) works very nicely except it doesn't show up as a dock, i.e. it doesn't have the resistor to make it know it is docked. I found a clock I like that senses power connected and that's really good enough for me. Also, if you want to use it by a bedside, you will need black electrical tape to cover over the blue LED that is VERY bright and always on. But it is sturdy, the phone fits snugly, after about 2 times it is easy to insert with one motion. Not a bad arrangement. A 10 cent resistor would have made it much better!
I wish that samsung dock with extra battery was half the price. 50 is too much.
i just got the Samsung one from Newegg... the fit and look is great, but the footprint is a triangle, which can get a little unstable when trying to do things with the phone while docked.
How was the deck?
Which is better Samsung deck or one you bought?
Wanting one for the office, I also bought the EVO desk dock.
It does not appear to trigger docking behavior either, though I have started using the Kaloer clock, and this substitutes nicely, maybe even better.
The EVO dock "feels" better - a little heavier, more solid, prettier. It came labeled for the international version, but it works fine for charging. It has a separate power connection for the spare batter (and two cables supplied), but this is something of a pain -- two cables running across your desk. The dock on my first post at the top does both battery and phone with one cable. Since I don't have a spare battery yet, not a big deal, but it is disappointing of the EVO.
The EVO also has a MUCH more muted LED status light, this one I think would be fine by the bed at night.

Can I use the Nexus charger with the Rezound?

I went to the Verizon store to swap my GNexus for the Rezound. I left the Nexus charger at home and they told me to just use the Gnex charger and that it plugs in just the same so they just kept the Rezound charger.
I was wondering if there would be anything bad with using the Nexus charger with my Rezound.
Also how long does it take for you guys to fully charge the standard battery? With the Gnexus charger, it went from 60% to 95% in about 1.5hrs and the graph shows it is slowing down charging...
I also bought the extended battery and was wondering if it would mess with my battery meter gauge accuracy if I swapped between the two a lot... I was planning on using the Extended on long trips or days where I know I will be streaming lots of radio or doing a lot of stuff with my phone.
I would guess that the nexus charger is a standard Micro USB. That should work with the rezound, but won't fit as snug as the standard cable.
As far as switching between the extended and regular batteries, I don't think it will hurt the phone, but your battery meter would probably be off.
When I used the thunderbolt I had the stock battery and 2 off brand extra batteries that were not quite as long lasting. My phone would shut off at about 15% when using these batteries, since the phone's batt stats were for the stock one.
Yeah, the Rezound's is different than a standard micro USB. And it's a little bit longer too and kind of snaps in for a nice secure fit. Personally, unless it's a big hassle, I would swap the chargers and get the HTC one even though the nexus one will work.

I'm using my old BlackBerry charger (micro usb) and haven't had any issues. Fits snug. Also, I've been using a Verizon branded micro usb car adapter without any issues. It's nice that phone manufacturers are starting to standardize their charging ports, so you don't have to get all new chargers/adapters every time you get a new phone.

Dock/Car Holder for Extended Battery w/ AC charger?

I tried getting a generic car holder from pepboys that plugs into/hangs from the cigarette lighter but due to the size/weight of the phone w/ the extended battery, the holder bends forward and the phone falls off regularly.
other then that i'll put a sticky pad on my right leg and leave the phone on that(works better) but still wish the first option worked.
is there some sort of dock or holder with extended battery support that'll plug into the cig lighter?
Check into this?

The Verizon dock will work also with the extended battery, just no case when the battery is on. To add the first generation of Verizon docks didn't have the data pins shorted so it would only charge as a USB device, that's since been fixed.
