I did this basic setup for my woot acquired GTAB. The primary reason was to keep the stock ROM but get the fully functional Android Market. I wanted to give these instructions out to real newbies who may want to do the bare minimum to keep their TAB up and running with all apps and without doing a flash with custom ROM. I wanted to include a more step by step for people who are less tech savvy so please bear with the details if you are a tech guy.
1. Get the Over The Air update to update to 3588. The OTA push happens automatically if you have connectivity (wifi is setup). You can also check it via the updates app that should have come with the stock ROM.
2. Download the enhancement pack - TnT Enhancement Pack v3.1.4b file from http://www.megaupload.com/?d=74HGJNEL to your desktop or laptop. The file name should be TnT_Enhancement_3389_v3_1_4b.rar
3. Try opening the file using winzip or any zip program. If it doesn't install winrar version available at http://www.win-rar.com/download.html.
4. Extract contents to a local folder on your computer using the zip/ winrar program. It has files update.zip, a recover folder that contains a command file
5. Connect your TAB to the computer with the min-usb cable and activate the usb transfer (I think it comes up with that option)
6. GTAB should show up as another drive in your system. With windows explorer browse this drive to locate the "sdcard" folder.
7. Copy the update.zip and recover (containing command file) folder from the location you extracted on your computer (step 4) into the sdcard folder identified on step 6.
8. Power off
9. Power on by pressing and holding the volume + button and the power button simultaneously.
10. The TAB should show a open box screen in a few seconds and after some time should turn back on to the main screen with new apps installed. You should see the market apps icon as well
11. Do the market fix remedy to see all applications in the market by steps below. I added an alternate market fix (if you don't see all apps)
a) Run market
b) Open settings->applications->system applications
c) Force close Google Services Framework, then Force Close Market
d Go back to Google Services Framework, then clear data
e) Run market and confirm you get an error
f) Reboot
g) Wait 2 minutes and try Market to get all applications
h) If this doesn't work, look at the directions again and make sure you follow them exactly
Alternate market fix Steps - I haven't tested this but looks like a few extra steps (You need Titanium Backup installed and have opened Market and surfed around a bit. Thanks to blackjaguar who pointed to this)
1. Settings->Applications->System applications->Market then Clear Cache (if any) then Force Stop
2. Go back one and then Google Services Framework then clear data then Force Stop
3. Go to home and open Titanium Backup
4. Select Backup/Restore tab
5. Select Google Services Framework
6. Select Wipe Data
7. Go to home and open market (it will error and close)
8. Reboot your tablet
9. Open Market and you will have full market
The above steps are detailed in another thread
The below steps are the bare action items from this detailed link

I just got my gtab from woot and basically wanted the same thing you did: the stock gtab plus the market. I followed your directions after spending the last week reading the massive amounts of posts on this forum. The only thing I did differently was installing CWM between steps 1 and 2, and repartitioning to the recommended 2048/0. It seemed like most people end up having to do that at some point. Your market fix however, didn't work at all for me. There's another fix posted by tsm26 that worked great for me. Its slightly different:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12563333&postcount=4400
The only app I still can't find in the market is Firefox, but luckily its available from ftp.mozilla.org.
EDIT: Just got the acore process problem, and had no contacts or /data/data folder at all. Used this fix and the problem is gone. Looks like it works for TnT Enhanced as well:

from other parts of the forum i went with the fix of using titanium backup to wipe data related to contacts (believe there were three separate items, contacts, contact synch, and something else). btw, I am running VEGAn 5.1.1.

I am going to update this with alternate market fix for anyone who is interested. Thanks.
Step 6 confused?
Just received my gtab and following your steps to install this upgrade, however after connecting gtab to laptop I see 4 folders at the root of "E:" when browsing through windows. I assume that "E:" is the sdcard directory and these folders are located in it. The folders I can see in this directory under the windows "E:" drive are - .android_secure, Android, DCIM & LOST.DIR. However if I browse to the "sdcard" folder using the file explorer on my gtab I don't see the .android_secure folder, but do see a folder called "update.zip", that I don't see when browsing the "E:" drive in windows. Now I am really confused? Do I delete or rename the "update.zip" directory currently residing in the "sdcard" directory on the gtab and then copy over the recover and update.zip folders that I just downloaded?
My tap ui version is 1.1-3389.
Are there any suggestions?
I think you need to disable the USB sharing and you will see the files.
This worked like a charm. I decided not to root and mod, at least for now, so getting the market is great. I didn't show the sdcard directory, but I had update and an empty recovery directory, so I just replaced them (after copying the old update.zip). It wiped out the photos and videos apps on my main screen, but I found some interesting replacements. And the market fix worked great too.
But I still can't find Words With Friends... Just checked the market from my laptop and it thinks it's not compatible with my device. Oh well.
I followed the instructions to the T and the market wont work... someone please help!!!!!
The first set of instructions did not work for me, but the alternate set did work. I now appear to have a full market. Awesome!
Just for the record, I am running the stock ROM updated to the latest VS release.
EDIT: Whoops, spoke too soon. No apps will download from the Market. When I try to download a free app, I get a "Starting download..." message but that's it. I'm also doing this at work... I think port 5228 might be blocked. Is this the reason? I will attempt from home tonight...
Help!

I've gotten to this point, but how long is some time, it has never turned back on to the main screen and now really won't boot at all, just goes to a blank screen and sit there.
Any ideas? Any help would be appreciated! Hope I haven't done something terribly wrong!
Spoke too soon?
Maybe I spoke too soon. Doing the market fix got me a lot more on the market, but there's still a lot of apps that I can't get. So many devs put their apps in market and nowhere else. Don't they realize that this is not itunes? (BTW, I've hit web sites that send me to itunes to download their apps...) How many other devices has google not approved for the market and are stuck like this? Even Firefox is undownloadable on my Android. Is that really the market fix or should I be able to access more?
So frustrating, but finally something seems to work
OK, new theory. Apparently I had to do the market fix twice. I also followed the video on this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9817939&postcount=17
That's not the gtab, so it looks a little different in the menus, but the steps still worked. I guess it threw in an extra step of clearing cache on market and force stopping it before stopping google services framework. Well, Firefox doesn't show up in market, but so far everything else does. Now I have to try to remember everything I've been trying to download.
I had to do the Market fix twice, but that was no sweat.
Perfect, gunajay; thank you very much for your concise directions.

Everything is working great using this Enhancement Pack and Market Fix. My question is whether my gTab is still considered stock with these changes? The forum messages about the new firmware update all caution against applying it if you are running an alternate firmware from 3588. I don't know if I am under the Enhancement Pack and Market Fix scenario or not.
no sdcard - help please
Hello all, found this post and as a complete newbie I was excited to see what the GTAB could be transformed into. Not quite ready for custom ROMS so I figured I'd start with Clockworkmod and trying to install the standard android market.
Problem is when I hook up my gtab I don't see an "sdcard" folder... Anybody have any ideas why that would be? How do I work around it?
I have the following folders:
.android_secure
Android
clockworkmod
DCIM
download
kindle
LOST.DIR
Master
Music
Photos
recovery
Videos
update.rar
Thanks in advance for your help!
Will this work with 4349?
Does anyone know if gunajay's instructions will work with with Stock 4349 and Market?

SDCARD is the folder that is mounted on your computer when you connect via USB. The list above are the contents of your SDCARD.
Doh. ;-) That worked. Thank you very much for the explanation K J Rad!
Whenever I plug my phone in, set it to USB mass storage, it always sets back to Motorola phone portal with a little roll back icon in the menu bar.
I need the USB mass storage to grab some files off my atrix. How do I fix this?
I was having a similar problem until I uninstalled Motorola Media Link.
close everything related to your phone. I had the same problem once and it turned out I had a cmd window open with adb commands that had been previously run on it. I'd close EVERYTHING related to your phone, restart the phone then start again.
Like someone previously mentioned about Media Link, if you right click the icon in the system tray, there is a menu in the pop-up that gives you the option of selecting what the device does by default when you connect it. By default, the option is set to Phone Portal, but you have the option of setting it to that, Mass Storage or None.
I'm not 100% certain that the second option is Mass Storage, but I know that it can be changed so that your phone won't default to Phone Portal. It should just be a matter of exiting Media Link rather than uninstalling it that or merely changing your settings in it.
I think he means the glitch where no matter what you choose on the phone itself, it will always default back to the phone portal option before it mounts the SD card as a usable USB device in Windows Explorer.
I suppose that's possible, but without being more specific, the problem could be resolved by changing the MediaLink settings. Obviously, if the problem is the one you are referring to, my suggestion would be irrelevant. =p
Anyone get PAW server working in place of Moto Phone Portal? Gawd it sucks!
1. You have to use IE or FF, which is cool because I already use FF, but when I click on File Manager it warns, "File Manager access supported on Internet Explorer only." WTF over they can't make up their minds?
2. I finally get File Manger working through IE of course and then it takes me to some DavWWWRoot web folder???
3. So I copy a couple music files - then go to the phone using Astro - find the files in my /mnt/sdcard/ folder - copy the files (won't let me cut or move) - find my "Music" folder deeper on the SD card - copy the files there - go back to the /mnt/sdcard/ folder and delete the now duplicate files.
Holy smokes is this thing awful or am I just making it awful?
Please someone help me get the much better PAW working!
Hello. I've been looking everywhere and I could not find a STOCK ROM for my Coby Kyros MID1125-4G. It happens that I installed ICS from Coby germany, but that slowed the tablet and has many problems with the WIFI, then updated via OTA to JellyBean and the thing was worse. Now I want to return to Gingerbread, but I don't have the stock image. Any of you have a STOCK ROM for this device? I will be very grateful for your help.

I think I've done pretty much the same as you....my tablet doesn't seem too bad...a bit glitchy maybe but I have no access to the APN settings meaning I can't use 3g. I'm hunting for answers as well.....if you find out anything before me let me know (and vice versa) :fingers-crossed:
I am glad im not the only one been trying to work out how to get the 4g sim card bit working again for the past few months since I did the update to ICS, was hoping the the update to Jellybean would fix it, tho I have a thought about the update if it helps that is when it downloads the update from the coby site it is downloading for the standard 1125 and not the 1125-4g model.
If i find out a solution or any more will let you know.

After hours of seraching on the net I now have my kyros 1125-3g back to 2.3.3 and with 3g support
I have uploaded the files needed to hxxp://kaosmad.com/android/mid1125/1125-3g.zip
There is a pdf file with instructions in the zip file but basically this is what you need to do,
0 make sure coby is turned off
1 - unzip the file
2 - install the drivers from the drivers folder (depending on your operating system)
3 - start the program FWDN_V7_v2.13
4 - click on the '...' button
5 - click on files types and change it to all files
6 - select lk.rom and MTD.img and click on open
7 - click on add files
8 - turn on coby by pushing the on button whilst holding the volume up button for at least 8 seconds, till the coby screen says plug in usb cable
9 - plub in usb cable
10 - wait for windows to finish detecting / installing drivers
11 - the FWDN software should now see the coby and show the memory allocation layout on the right side of the software.
12 - click on NAND Data from the block on the right and create file NAND Data.fai
13 - click on start
14 - wait while coby is updated
15 - when the screen says download complete (turns green) disconnect the usb cable
16 - reset the coby using the reset whole on the side with a paperclip or something else that fits in the whole.
17 - Coby should now be back to factory rom
Hope this is of some help

Thx for all the great info so far. It allowed me to make my bricked

Do you have any idea how to fix this ?? :crying:

From what I have read at various places you need to reformat the NAND (internal sd storage) and scan it for errors, this is a know fault as nands like hard drives can have bad sectors, which they write out when originally getting them ready for sale.
Most people recommend hxxp://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/sd/download/index.html SD Formatter v3 to format it, obviously the coby has to be plugged into your computer to format it.
One note if you have the 3g version of the 1125 with the sim card slot using the coby germany upgrade to ics (or now updated to jellybean) using the updater on their site you wont be able to use the internal 3g sim card slot, this is a known problem to them and they are working on it.
If you need any more help just ask

Hmm I have dowloaded the SD Formatter 3.1 but it only formates the NAND memory ( flash erase is not suported ) i dont know how to scan for errors, also in FWDN it shows me that the NAND data is:
NAND DATA
( 3235840KB )
Is this ok ?
Also I want to let you know that the original coby germany upgrade to ics I can use the internal 3g sim card slot
I have now the update to ICS but now I dont know how to root and put the market on it, to bad
Did you guys have any luck trying to get APN settings working on your tablet, i mean with the 4.1.1. on?
sorry for my bad english
Is these instructions and the ROM for the 1125 without 3g usable?
If not, is there a tutorial for it and a stock ROM?
To explain:
I must have deleted important files in memory and can't run it any longer. it can not be started.
It is rooted. I would now like to re-flash.
How to get the 1125 in the CWM?
Yes, you can use it. I have also used it to come back to GB.

12 - click on NAND Data from the block on the right and create file NAND Data.fai

If you do the downgrade steps until step 12, the tablet will not be flashed !
Thank you...

And it worked, but the format does not match the screen, the touch does not work and some other buttons, I need these files for Kyros 1126, where the "lk.rom" and "mtd.img" if someone can help me , because I can only alert by FWDN_v7 program. From now on, thank you.
Thanks!

After following the instructions I had an error and it would not boot.. so I did the same again but changed from "default download" to "Low format whole memory before download" (this does remove all your data as the warning states) then followed steps 3 to 13 again you need to do the NAND data.fai again so that it works and I have the stock ROM just added

After following the instructions I had an error and it would not boot.. so I did the same again but changed from "default download" to "Low format whole memory before download" (this does remove all your data as the warning states) then followed steps 3 to 13 again you need to do the NAND data.fai again so that it works and I have the stock ROM just added

Hello,
I used instrucjion to downgrade android to v.2.3.3. It worked, but after downgrade I can't turn on 3G.
I have 3G option, but when I click on 3G i see all the time "Turning on..." I don't see 3G enable or something else. 3G nor working.
During flashing to android v2.3.3 I have inserted SIM card to tablet :/ Reset to default do not work :/

This is Version 4.17 installer for Windows 8/7/Vista/XP (both 32/64bit)
Extract CWM recovery img_1125 folder to desktop by itself ( Do not remove any files from this folder )
Move zip files from zips folder to micro sd card and insert sd into tablet ( leave these in zip format !! )

Also move apks from apks folder to MicroSD card
Uni-init+v1.0.apk

Open cmd window
( menu , run , when window opens , enter “cmd” without quotes )
Cd to directory
ie ,

Open Uni-init+v1.0.apk , install intd support
( you will need busybox installed first for this to work )
You now have working Play Store , Superuser and Android 4.1 with Intd support
For Extended memory ,( You need this )
Increase Internal Memory by Link2SD : Min 2 GB microSD
In order to add memory to Coby 1125, your micro SD card used for install will need to be formatted
Copy all files you wish to keep from micro SD to desktop as it will be wiped
• Backup all your files on memory card.
• Go into the Recovery Mode ( as above , fastboot boot recovery.img ) ( Your operating system will be fine )
• Make a nandroid backup at this time
• Select “Advanced”, and then choose “Partition SD Card”.
• Then Choose your size ( if you have a 2GB Memory Card, choose 512 MB, and if you have a 4 GB Memory card, you can choose 1024 MB, ext ).
• Select 0 Swap.
• Wait for the process to finish, and then select Reboot
You’ve just made a partition on your memory card, and its ready to use.
Now follow the steps below for Link2SD
• Open Link2SD. You will be prompted to choose between ext2,ext3,ext4 and FAT32.
• Choose ext2
• Select OK ,
• It will then say, “Mount Script Created”.
• Now you Reboot your Tablet
• Open Link2SD again, if any message does not appear ,it means you succeeded.
• Go to Link2SD > Setting( far right top icon ) scroll down > Check the autolink. (to automatically move apps upon installation).
If you already have some apps listed , select “create link” ( be sure to check the files: app, dalvic-cache, and library files).
Move to SD option only moves app to SD it does not link them
Now to check the memory, select “Storage Info” . this will be showing you up the current status of your internal memory.
You should see as below SD Card 2nd Part
To move a system App you can long press App , it will pull up menu , select convert to user App let it do its thing
Select App again and it will open option to create link as installed user apps do
So far I have moved Calculator , VPN , Music FX , ES File Explorer and Sound Recorder with no issue
Use Link2Sd and (long press) on SystemUpdate.apk ( /system/app/SystemUpdate.apk ) and freeze app.
This will stop System Update from happening at random moments or on reboot
There is no Update to install though the System thinks so (without freezing it will continue to show updates available)
Since i cant post in the development section,so i decided to post my issue in here.
I have this problem which i cant access my SD card content through the music and gallery stock apps.I tried using third party apps and it still gave the same result. The apps show no content at all.Anyone have went through the same problem?Any idea how to solve this issue? :fingers-crossed:
maybe you should try it with another microSD-Card, I also had some problems with the installation, so I had to install it many times until it really worked fine...
Issue with [ROM][JB][UNOFFICIAL] CM10 BETA1, to enable USB Media device, phone storage
Neither I (noob) can post new thread with new issue discovered... So I post this here.
This is my first post on XDA forum. I have been using the ROM now for 1 week. Gracias Zeubea!!! Neither any problems with battery drain, it lasts for 2-3 days.
Here is my issue:
THe idea was to review and put some new ringtones in /system/media/audio/ folder on phone's storage.
I shut down the phone, took out the SD card and boot it.
Then I connected it via USB to WinXP PC. Windows explorer does see Removable Disk letter, but it doesn't show its contents (folders, files...).
While there is SD card on, notification in status bar appears and you can choose to turn-on USB memory storage. When there is no card in, there is no notification and you cannot choose to view folders in phone's memory, while I could do that when I had official Froyo from HTC.
I googled a bit and found some kind solution on another type of phone (i have link, but i cannot post it, since I am noob!)
via Settings/Wireless&Networks/Storage and then choose Menu button and under additional options you can find "Connect as Media Device (MTP), which is turned off by default , and when you try to turn it on, menu hangs and it forces to close. There is 3rd option in that menu which doesn't appear on that page is, Turn on USB Mas Storage which is on.
I did further some search on XDA forum and even tried code in Terminal Emulator under su rights
persist.sys.usb.config=mass_storage,adb
and nothing happened
Is this some bug that one can expect maybe will be adressed in the future?

Your funny, if you take out sdcard then try to access sdcard via USB its not going to work :banghead: because sdcard is gone, there is nothing wrong with zeubeas rom in regards to USB storage.
Oh and btw, you can't access system folder using USB mass storage mode, you can use adb on your computer to access the phones storage bits n pieces like system, data and sdcard.
For the sake of safety for your phone I think that you need to get a better understanding of how android system works before messing with your system folders!

dear ranger; first of all, thank you for very prompt answer. Iam glad this is very live community, where you can post any question and you get answer. With all respect, in stock ROM, both HTC and some other LG model my wife owns, when you connect via USB the phone without SD card, there is notification and dialog what sort of connection to choose (you know: charge/USB storage/...). Even CM 7.2.0 final for HTC legend has it. You can access contents of phone storage (without SD card). Haven't you tried yourself before?
Maybe you are other type of person, but my goal is not to be every day clung infront of PC passing adb commands to comunicate the phone with PC. I thought there is some simplier way to do the same. I will be glad if you can inform me where I can read more about adb commands regarding accessing and passing files across system folders.
And I don't even intend to mess with sys folders, I know for this we have zeubea type people. Simply I wanted to add few ogg files, that's it. And I know I can put same named folders /media/audio/ringtones/ on SD card and it should funcion with some minimal lag but I was curious if it is very simply to that other way. I will not even intend to mess system folders.
Have a good day. =)
I'm not sure what you want - the Legend has limited onboard flash, so you really should use your SDcard as much as you possibly can. Use Link2SD to store non-system apps on an extra partition on your card, so apps won't die when SD card's primary partition is mounted via USB.
To transfer music, connect Legend to your computer using USB, enable USB storage on phone, and copy music files to SDcard's 'music' folder. Works for me using mp3, haven't tried ogg.

I'm also considered a noob, so I can't post in the rom dev thread yet, so here we go
I've been running this ROM for about a week, and I've had some issues that I haven't seen reported elsewhere:
Contacts: When searching for a contact, it appears that some filtering is applied, and oftentimes the contact I'm looking for is not found, although it's there when I scroll through contacts. Depending on language settings (english vs danish) the search also seems to be case sensitive, so e.g. entering 'fra', 'Frank' doesn't show up.
Also, contacts are not consistently transferred to my Parrot Bluetooth car kit. Could be bluetooth glitches
WLAN: Using Wifi Analyzer and similar apps, channels are not identified properly, but instead marked as all 0, 1 or ?. I suppose it hangs on a slightly unsuitable WLAN driver, because I haven't seen it in other JellyBean or CM10 ROMs (HTC HD2)
More issues
I just found a few threads mentioning the WLAN channel issue on select HTC handsets since CM6: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1022379 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=891563. Unfortunately, there's no clear solution in those threads.
hi all, im new here, but i know how to flash things...
so, as the title said, i have 2 question (or should i say, problem);
1. no mobile network - i have tried all i know, restarting phone, remove the simcard then insert back, wipe data/cache but nothing happen
2. missing MTP<->USB mass storage option - yep, i need this since there are problem that require me to copy all file back, example;
when using MTP, my music file only show 200 when my file is 500 actually, thus i need
to use USB mass storage
FYI, im using OmniROM "omni-4.4.2-20140103-i9100g-NIGHTLY" for my GT-i9100G
thanks~
EDIT : wanna add more question, in Cyanogenmod, under Setting > development there is a n option to rename our device from "android-somerandomnumber" to "our desired name"...the question is is this option only available in CM? im using OmniROM and there is no that option
I think this would help you:
SG USB Mass Storage Enabler
@duykhanh187
what download ink?
@cubflyer
thanks for the suggestion, so there's no way to enable it unless using 3rd party eh?
btw, after this problem i've clean flash my phone and its working now, though there are some app that i cant install, i get this message "App not installed"...that app is awaremote 2.3, havent try others...
EDIT ; @cubflyer
your suggestion didn't work...it corrupt my external SD...have to move from SlimKat to CyanFox
