Not a dev topic.. Please post in Q&A.
I am sure you will get more help there.

I had the same problem and my lapdock is on its way to Motorola right now for evaluation/repair. The USB connection isn't being made. Your phone probably isn't charging either in lapdock. Phone thinks it is connected to an external display, not lapdock, and that's why you get touchpad on phone..

I have the problem as well. Phone definitely IS charging. Phone's got NottachTrix 1.3.1 on it.
Could it be the webtop software? Mine is ver OSHWT_U1_4.257.30

[Q] Is my dock faulty or am i doing something wrong.

morning all,
just got the hd Dock for my atrix yesterday (£75 from carphone warehouse), but i m not certain its working properly. if i plug my atrix in it does charge and the usb ports are active as i can use keyboard/mouse etc. but atrix only says connected via hdmi and does not give me the option to run webtop unless i use the hacked apps to allow it without a dock.
just wondering if this is something im not doing right or if my dock is faulty.
using stock orange uk 2.2 build rooted
Just curious.... Did anyone ever answer your question? I have the same problem. The first time I used the dock it worked fine, but after I rooted the phone the webtop doesn't seem to show up anymore. Wondering if I need to unroot it.

[Q] Can I make a "Mock Dock"?

Ok so I've got my Photon plugged into my TV via an HDMI cable and I want to know how I can make the phone think that it's plugged into a Dock and open the Webtop app so I can use it. I've been without a laptop for almost 2 weeks now and it's killing me! LOL!
SO.........does anybody know how to do this or if it's even possible?
If the "Firefox Browser" App is actually built into the Dock itself then I guess I'm screwed unless someone has an answer.
Thank you all in advance for any help. I greatly appreciate it!

Webtop type thing on S III?

I was wondering if the Galaxy S III had something like webtop? Where you can plug the phone into a screen using a HDMI cord and pretty much have a tablet/pc experience through your screen. Sorry if this is a stupid question. Couldn't find an answer
Asking the same question, currently using a razr in between my droid charge and s3.... Loving the mixture of unlimited data and netflix with Web top.
Not sure...but keyboard/mice do work just fine with the phone (using OTG). Just need to figure out how to connect a screen at the same time too...

[Q] change usb settings??

Hello,
I bought an external keyboard that connects via the mini usb port. It didn't work, but found a suggestion:
When I first connected my adapter that came with my tablet to the keyboard adapter I was very disappointed that nothing happened. I tried several different browser pages, but nothing happened. I read reviews on here and noticed on about that someone mentioned they changed their USB settings and their keyboard finally started working. So, I immediately went to my Settings, Advanced Settings, and then USB BUS MODE and changed it from DEVICE mode to HOST mode and VOILA - the keyboard immediately started functioning

I tried to find where to change the usb settings to host but couldn't find the area. Is there anywhere I can find this? I am using the AOPK Rom. Thanks for any help!
OTG not in any of the Nook Tablet yet
OTG is not implemented yet on the stock nor current cm10 roms based on what I have asked in this forum for Nook Tablet. I know you can do this with the new nooks that have monochrome display. May I ask where did you read this article?

Were you reading the review for the Nook Color with working usb otg? It does work for that tablet, not the NT though.

I wasn't looking specifically for how to get it working on the tablet, just looking in general for how to do it in android. Hopefully they implement the otg soon
I just downloaded the new cm10 (snappy and no more reboot/sdcard lost errors!!) but there wasn't anything about the type of usb connection in that one either...
Am I not going to be able to use this keyboard? Will I have to break down and buy a price blue tooth one????

At this time the NT does not have usb otg on any ROM, it may in the future, but if and when is not known at this time. The NT will never have bluetooth, Never. It has been well documented why, do a search and read. So a BT keyboard will never work. Is it really that hard to type with your thumbs?

It isn't really a matter of difficulty, it is a matter of duration. I didn't want a full laptop and I like the android os so wanted to try a tablet with a keyboard for my mobile computing needs. I am do a good amount of typing (chapters for novels and such) and prefer a keyboard. I was using my phone before and it was a lot slower than what I can do with a keyboard and got tiring after an hour or so. It isn't detrimental that I can't use a keyboard, just desired.

I bought a Toshiba Thrive 32gb off craigslist for $200. I am now running CM10. I bought it for those exact reasons. It has full sized usb, full sized hdmi, micro usb, full sized sd card expandable to 128 gb, bluetooth capable, gps, 10.1" screen. I use a mouse through usb, bluetooth keyboard, and I hook it up to my TV or
computer monitor and is performs really well as a portable computer with little cost involved.

lol, after spending 150 on the tablet I think that I am going to skip buying another, however I have started looking at other virtual keyboard options and will be trying out a few to see if they can fill the gap until/if they activate the usb otg. Thanks for the info and I will reply if I find a keyboard that I like enough to be useable as a touch typer!!

[Q] Which bluetooth mouse and keyboard sets I can use?

Ok so, all I really do is look on FB and look on ebay, which my phone can do perfectly, obviously. I have a MHL adapter to connect it to my TV which works perfect also, but my question is which keyboard and mouse would pair with the devices bluetooth so I can use the MHL adapter and the keyboard and mouse to use it as a mini desktop computer or a "Smart TV".
Please not to expensive and not cheap and tacky, thank you very much.

Why don't you use OTG cable to connect mouse/keyboard to your SGS3 it will cost u less and you can use any usb keyboard or mouse, why do you want to spend lots of money buying a new keyboard and mouse.. one thing is you will have limitation to use only one device at a time..
Because I can't use my mhl adapter then. Currently doing that now but want the option to display on TV and use KB and mouse.

There are guides on the internet to make an OTG / MHL adaptor if you're that way inclined

What do you plan on doing with your phone connected to TV? My idea was using it to word process and well basically everything a PC does which is why I use a full sized wireless keyboard and mouse set I got cheap. If yours is just for doing simple tasks running down this road is not a bad idea. There is the same sort of concept bundle which is this one

Which looks a little better on using the keyboard as it's not all cramped up. You know?

Well yeah basically use it the same way as you but just to use it as a backup in case my Laptop plays up , but the one you posted does look better
