For flashing ftf files you must connect your phone in flash mode. When it is in flash mode the green led will light.
Enable USB debugging and set the phone to msc mode when connecting with USB. Also enable unknown sources.
Look here at point three for more http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1568792

are you sure you are entering fastboot mode in a proper way? power off the phone, hold vol down button and connect to pc, if the led turns blue you are in fastboot mode.
edit:
it seems you are trying this on x8 or similar phone, hold menu and connect the device
Think so......

Okay, there are 2 things:
1. This is xperia mini pro sk17i forum and not x10 mini pro, so better ask there
2. On our phone it's volume up to enter fastboot and please install all drivers for all devices/modes from flashtool folder -> drivers, too...

Bricked My neo L

I just followed the steps provided here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1973017
But while rooting the cmd prompt just kept saying..."waiting for device"
I just closed it and tried to redo the process but none of the software is identifying my phone. My neo L just blinks with the red led but I can see the "portable device" icon in my computer.
But Initially I had made it to MSC and usb debugging ...Now can I get back my phone to normal

Xperia P bootloader unlock using flashtool.

I want to unlock bootloader in my Xperia P and I'm using flashtool version 0.9.5.0, Even though I can go flashmode by pressing volume down button when connecting the device to the PC, I can't go to fastboot mode (I tried using volume up button when connecting device into the PC). After 3 seconds of blue light, it says to install fastboot drivers, which I have already installed. Anyone can help me please?
