delete them and try to flash this as it seems while copying it from sd card you will have to change permissions of those files to rw-r--r-- to work
if this flashable do not work then you have to change it manually
it works for me
thanks

Ok so get some file explorer then go to your sd card make a folder named media then in it make a another folder named audio and in it a new folder named ringtone.Copy the file you want as ringtone to that folder and you should be able to select it in the ringtone menu in settings.
EDIT: Pardon its ringtones
you might as well set it through your music player like PlayerPro and etc.
Thank you all of you

Hi, I am using HyDrOG3N-ICS ROM and like many custom ROMS the boot sound is removed. How could I add a boot sound back into the ROM?
Thanks

Open rom with Win rardo not extract .
Locate and open System then open ETC .
Then from ADD button add POWERon.wav for GB or .OGG if its ICS close and flash the rom .
jje
Thanks for the info, Is there no way to do without flashing ROM again?
Thanks

Take the PowerOn.ogg sound file, and put it in /system/etc using Root Explorer. Make sure you remount /system as R/W first.
I have tried this already and it is not working for me is there anything else that needs to be done?

You sure the file is good? If you try to open the .ogg file in Root Explorer, does it actually play?
Yes it defiantly had sound and plays. I assume the boot animation uses the system volume?

Yes, that was going to be my next question. Is your system volume turned up to an audible level when you boot?
Yes all turned up to max. Is there anything in the bootanimation.zip it's self that affects sound?

I don't think so...
And it turns out this may be related to the ROM after all... when I search the HyDrOG3N-ICS thread for the string "boot sound", I get a lot of results of people asking how to add it in, but no replies on how to get it done.
EDIT: after some searching, I found this post. Maybe you can try using this dev's kitchen app to attempt enabling the boot sound?
Sorry, nevermind. That looks like it is a kitchen app for his specific ROM, and may not work for HyDrOG3N.
EDIT 2: Try adding the PowerOn.ogg file to /etc instead of /system/etc. This folder (/etc) SHOULD be a logical mapping to /system/etc, but sometimes, it just doesn't work that way for some reason.
Still no luck. From further reading it seems boot sound is not supported at all on some roms. I have found suggestions of custom scripts that may work however most seem aimed at cm7. Think I may try some tomorrow. Thanks

How am I supposed to know? I don't use that ROM, nor am I the ROM chef.
Either ask in the ROM thread, or do some research. Google is your friend.
I don't mean to be short with you, but this is just lazy. Type into google "ics rom boot sound".

This will enable haptic feedback on your stock rom like cm7 in which the back and menu keys vibrate when you touch them.
Ofcourse you need ROOT and GINGERBREAD STOCK ROM
Download the file from attachment and extract it.Now replace the original sec_touchscreen.kl (better if you backup in case you want to revert) with one you extracted in system/use/keylayout.
Fix permissions rw-r--r--
reboot

Bro read the authors post nicely n do step by step as said. It will work.
For ur convinience here's the main post in steps.
You need ROOT and GINGERBREAD STOCK ROM
Steps to enable haptic feed back:-
1) Download the file from attachment and extract it.
2) now do a ndroid backup through cwm recovery to b in safe side.
3)Now place the extracted sec_touchscreen.kl in system/use/keylayout.
6) then give the correct permissions as: rw-r--r--
7) then reboot.
Its done.
Download the zip file from the 1st post.

Hello , this is my first post
I have been in the android development section for so many time and I cant make a post or reply there because I have to post at least 10 replies in the General section.
Anyway , I dont know whether this question is in the right section or not , But the admins can kindly take care of that.
THE QUESTION :I have been using customs roms posted by developers in the android development section for so long and I know how to edit them after downloading but can anyone tell me how to remove sound mods like Xsinfinity or any other sound mod from the rom? See sometimes i like the whole rom and the music players but what spoils it to me is messing with the sound levels .. so is there a way to remove them ?
Thanks for your time.

The mod most probably replaces the system sound files... So in order to revert back you'll need to restore the backup... Or flash the original sound conf files in cmw..

I think it's much better to reflash the original Rom than to search and replace individual files... Hmm. .. You can backup your apps and contacts... I did the same when sound mod messed up with system files and disabled xloud....

Alright, that was helpful
1)Download Xs-infinity sound mod
2)Unzip (or just open the file) and look for same files in the rom
3)Delete exceeding files (the ones that don't have a correspondant in the same destination)
4) Replace file with same name (sound.lib etc) using ones from a stock or other custom rom
5) ???
6) Mod deleted

Just re flash your Rom. Then it replaced original files.
Guys .. The rom already has this sound mod .. So flashing it again wont do me any good .. Unless u mean that i reflash the stock rom but whats the point then i'll lose the custom rom .. It seems like theres no solution but deleting the files.
The only solution is the one i posted.
If you want you can make a script that will do it using adb shell rm cmd but not many other solutions than this..
